Chapter 252
6:
Julian didn’t answer right away. Instead, he gazed at Louisa’s back and deliberately stood up.
Teddy and Noah assumed he was stepping out to take the call. Instead, Julian moved seats. He positioned himself directly bind Lovisa
back to back. He leaned casually against his chair, bringing them even closer. Now Louisa could hear not only his conversation bet
his breathing without trying.
Finally, Julian responded to his mother, “Yes, I’ve seen her.”
Adeline’s excited voice came through clearly: “Oh good! I was worried you wouldn’t find her. Get to know Ms. Foster better–didn’t you say you like girls with good appetites? Ms. Foster loves food. You’ll have plenty to talk about!”
Julian replied with complete indifference: “Well, pigs loves to eat too. Does that mean I should sit down and chat with a pig?
Everyone around them fell silent in shock. ‘Julian, what happened to your manners?‘
Louisa couldn’t help it–she laughed out loud. No, no, that’s rude. She quickly tried to stop herself, but Julian had already heard her laugh, and the ice in his expression began to thaw.
On the phone, Adeline finally detected her son’s displeasure. He never spoke so rudely about anyone.
She sighed. “I thought your first meeting went well. I assumed you liked Ms. Foster, which is why I took the liberty of arranging this
second meeting.”
Julian’s face remained expressionless. “Couldn’t you have notified me first? Because of your unilateral decision, I’ve been the subject of unfounded gossip from my employee. It’s caused me considerable trouble.”
Louisa froze. Was he talking about her?
Adeline heard the genuine annoyance in her son’s voice and apologized. “I’m sorry, I didn’t think this through and caused you problems.
Next time-
Julian cut her off, “There won’t be a next time. The matchmaking ends here. I won’t participate in any more blind dates you arrange, and please stop bothering people with this.”
Adeline protested: “But you-”
“Don’t worry,” Julian interrupted, his tone softer but still firm. “I won’t be single forever. I’ll find my own girlfriend. Just don’t complicate
things.”
Adeline swallowed whatever she was about to say. She had wanted to suggest he spend more time with Abigail, but thought better of it,

Chapter 252
Among her four sons, Julian was always the most obedient and level–headed, never talking back, always respectful. Zat when eval angry, he was also the most intimidating.
She had no choice but to agree.
After hanging up, she sighed heavily,
William, who had been watching nearby, gave her a knowing look. “Told you not to interfere. Julian’s upset, fant he? Put you in
place.”
Adeline was already frustrated enough without her husband’s smugness. She shot him a deadly glare. “Are you hoping to sleep in the
study tonight?”
William quickly backpedaled. “No, no, definitely not. Forget I said anything.*
Back at the restaurant, both tables had fallen into an eerie silence after Julian ended his call.
Under the table, Noah and Teddy exchanged a discreet high–five. Finally, the truth is out. Peace can be restored.
Abigail’s face burned with humiliation. During their blind date, Julian had made it clear he wasn’t interested. But she hadn’t wanted to accept it, believing he didn’t actively dislike her.
She’d wanted one more chance–after all, he was such a gentleman, so polite to women. Even if he disliked being set up, surely he would
be gracious about it.
She never imagined he would be so ruthless. He’d even deliberately changed seats to ensure she heard everything. The embarrassment was
unbearable.
Louisa was impressed despite herself. Julian had accomplished three things with one move–shutting down her ‘gossip, letting Abigail know not to waste her time, and most impressively, ending his mother’s matchmaking schemes in one decisive stroke. One phone call had resolved everything. Julian was terrifying in his efficiency. Equal opportunity devastation.
She felt both admiration and fear.
Then Julian spoke again, his voice deceptively casual: “Ms. Forbes…”
A summons from the devil himself.
Louisa’s scalp prickled with dread. Had everyone else been dealt with while her “gossip” offense remained unpunished?
She wanted to hide, but there was nowhere to go.

“Yes, Mr. Tudor? she answered weakly.
Julian heard the uncertainty in her voice. His tone softened, tinged with amusement: “You’re having such a delightful weekend, and norm
I’ve added my own delight to yours. Aren’t you just dying from all this joy?”
Louisa remained silent, frustrated. But she couldn’t find words to argue back, nor did she have the right to.
He was upset about his mother’s meddling and needed someone to vent on. Since Louisa had listened to gossip and misjudged the situation–essentially becoming an accomplice–she’d become his target. This explained his inexplicable sarcasm during their phone call.
She understood everything now.
With Abigail still watching her, Louisa decided to say nothing at all.
Thankfully, Julian didn’t press her further.
Just then, Sadie entered the restaurant. She stopped short at the sight of the two tables arranged side by side. Had she missed something?
She eyed both tables suspiciously, trying to understand the situation.
As she passed Julian’s table, he suddenly said, “Ms. Watson, there’s no room over there. Join us.”
His voice was warm, deep, and charming.
Sadie froze, bewildered by the invitation.
Abigail overheard and her eyes widened in disbelief. She sized Sadie up with hostile eyes.
Sadie, weakened from her bathroom emergency, looked rather pale. She hadn’t bothered with makeup since it was her day off, and had thrown on comfortable athletic wear.
To Abigail, this looked downright sloppy. After spending hours perfecting her own appearance only to be ignored by Julian, she couldn’t believe he was now inviting this disheveled woman to join them.
Did he actually prefer women like Sadie? Was his taste that bad? Though admittedly, Sadie wasn’t unattractive.
Noah greeted her enthusiastically: “Ms. Watson, what took you so long?”
Sadie, with the expression of someone who smelled juicy gossip, sat down in the empty seat and asked Noah eagerly, “Did I miss
something good?*
