Chapter 265

Just as the knife was about to pierce Vivian’s body, a plum flew through the air like a dart, striking Becky’s wrist and knocking the knife from her hand.
The knife clattered to the ground.
Becky turned toward the source, roaring, “Noah, what are you doing?”
Noah shrugged innocently. Vivian deserved retribution. But that retribution should come through legal justice, not at the cost of another life.
Becky didn’t care anymore. She immediately lunged for the fallen knife.
Vivian seized this one chance at survival, using all her strength to push Becky away before running for her life. Becky pursued her closely.
But the tree stood on an island in the middle of a pond, leaving little room to run with water all around. After just a few steps, Vivian
tumbled into the water.
The pond was deep, quickly submerging her head. She choked as water filled her lungs.
Becky, without hesitation, jumped in after her, grabbing Vivian’s head and forcing it underwater. “Die! Die, Vivian! Let’s die together!”
Vivian kicked desperately, trying to break free. But she’d already been stabbed several times, and now immersed in the freezing pond, her body ached with numbness. Her strength gradually faded as she sank deeper.
Becky’s consciousness began to blur. In her haze, she seemed to see Mark walking toward her. He looked just as he had in school, smiling at her–that smile: youthful, bright, handsome.
Becky suddenly began to cry, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, Mark, I’m sorry, I’m sorry…” She repeated countless apologies. Now she could
finally find release.
Just then, an athletic figure plunged into the pond with a splash. It was Noah. With remarkable efficiency, he dragged both Becky and Vivian to shore, one in each arm. But he couldn’t save both simultaneously.
Kneeling beside Becky, performing CPR, he called toward the house: “Louisa, come quickly! I need help!”
Louisa approached with Sadie and her brother.
George, who had been coldly observing everything from the doorway, suddenly spotted Louisa. His eyes flashed with shock, then delight. Louisa? What was she doing here? He immediately started toward her.
Hazel quickly grabbed his arm. When she saw Louisa, her eyes widened in shock. She had thought she was communicating with Mark’s

classmate recently. Now, seeing Louisa, Hazel understood everything. There was no classmate–it had all been Louisa’s scheme.
That cunning Louisa…

At the pond’s edge, Louisa looked down at Vivian with distaste. Did she really need to perform CPR on such a vicious woman? Pulling her
from the water had already been merciful enough.
“Jake…” Louisa called out.
Before Jacob could respond, Sadie stepped in front of her brother. “You’re not seriously asking my brother to give Vivian mouth–to–mouth,
are you?”
Louisa sighed. “I was going to have him bring Lily over so she could save her own daughter.”
“You scared me,” Sadie replied, then waved to Jacob. “Do what Louisa says.”
Jacob immediately untied Lily. She stumbled frantically toward her daughter. Seeing Vivian’s pitiful state, Lily nearly collapsed. She didn’t
know CPR.
Noah, still working on Becky, instructed her: “Follow my lead. Do exactly as I do.”
Lily hurriedly mimicked his actions.
Just then, police sirens wailed in the distance.
Louisa and Sadie exchanged glances. “Did you call them?”
They both shook their heads. If they hadn’t called the police, who had?
By now, Becky had been revived. Vivian had also regained consciousness, coughing violently after expelling water.
Lily quickly pulled her daughter into her arms. “It’s okay now, everything’s fine. The police are here. I’ll have them arrest everyone. None
of them will escape.”
Sadie laughed coldly. “Mrs. Price, it was your precious daughter who fell into the pond, yet you’re acting like your head’s underwater too. Have you forgotten that you’re the one who murdered and buried someone?”
Lily was speechless, her face turning ashen.
Meanwhile, Louisa wondered who had called the police if not one of them.
“Could it be a nearby resident?” Sadie suggested.

Louisa shook her head. “Probably not.”

Panic crept across Lily’s face. She looked at Louisa with desperate eyes. “Louisa, let’s make a deal. Don’t tell anyone about what we did, and I won’t mention how you encouraged Becky to harm my daughter. We’ll just say these two had a dispute. Name your price—we can
settle this privately,”
The shamelessness was astounding.
“Mrs. Price, Sadie scoffed, “if not for Noah, your daughter would be dead in that pond right now. How can you still say something so
brazenly shameless?”
Louisa also laughed coldly. “Look at Becky–she only wanted release. She had no intention of surviving. Do you really think you can
convince her to make a deal with you?”
Lily gave Becky a contemptuous glance. “Her? As long as you keep quiet, whatever happens between Becky and me is irrelevant. I have my ways. Stop wasting time and name your price!”
Such arrogance–as if money could solve everything.
Sadie was speechless. She stopped her phone’s recording and said coldly, “Thank you, Mrs. Price. Your attempt at bribery just added another link to our chain of evidence.”
Lily’s face went pale, her last hopeful glance falling on Louisa.
“Rest assured, Mrs. Price,” Louisa smirked. “We’ll tell the police exactly what happened, including how you murdered and buried someone.”
“That’s right!” Sadie agreed. Though they still didn’t know who had called the police, the authorities had arrived, making this the most
sensible approach.
Just then, Noah returned with a phone. “Louisa, I just called Julian. He said you should tell the police everything exactly as it happened. Don’t worry–he’ll come to the police station for you.”
Louisa remained silent. Who was worried? She wasn’t the one who had murdered and buried someone. What did she have to fear? It wouldn’t be her first time at a police station.
Before Lily could say anything more, the police entered. George was with them.
Louisa and Sadie were simultaneously startled. Had George called the police? His presence suggested Hazel had told him everything.
George immediately approached Louisa, gazing at her intently, his voice gentle. “Louisa…”
