Louisa said nothing, her face showing only coldness.

Seeing her like this broke George’s heart. He’d hurt Louisa repeatedly for Vivian’s sake–that venomous woman–and now Louisa wouldn’t even speak to him.
When Lily spotted George, she looked at him like he was her salvation. “George, come quick! Look at Vivian! That wicked Louisa tried to kill her! Vivian’s injured all over–take her to the hospital, hurry!”
Everyone stared at Lily like she was delusional. Did this woman actually think George was here to rescue them? Clearly Lily had no idea
how much George and Hazel now despised Vivian.
Sure enough, George looked coldly at the two women on the ground and sneered, “Do you think I’m blind? That I don’t know what
happened here?”
Lily was stunned. Her future son–in–law wasn’t going to help her?
The police noticed unconscious Becky and Vivian and instructed their colleagues, “Get these two to a hospital immediately.”
Lily tried to follow them, but the lead officer blocked her. “You can’t leave. You need to come to the station with us to assist with our
investigation.”
Lily immediately looked to George again. “George…” She could only pin her hopes on him now. “Vivian’s afraid of pain. Go to the hospital
with her–she’ll be scared all alone.”
George didn’t move an inch. “I’m sorry, I can’t leave either. As a witness to a homicide, I also need to go to the station to give my
statement.”
Lily’s face turned ashen. She thought she’d misheard. “What did you say? You’re… a witness to a homicide?”
So he’d been here the whole time, watching Vivian suffer without helping her? In that moment, Lily felt ice–cold from head to toe.
How could this be? Wasn’t the Capulet family supposed to be joining with the Price family? Wasn’t George going to marry Vivian? Vivian was even carrying George’s child! How could he be so cold–blooded?
She shrieked, “George, how can you be so heartless? Vivian is your fiancée! How could you not save her?”
George’s tone was glacial. “You wanted me to take a knife for your precious daughter? You were there too–why didn’t you step in?”
“I was… tied up at the time…”
“So you’re saying if you hadn’t been tied up, you would have rushed in?”

“Of course!” Lily answered without hesitation.
George smiled–a bone–chilling smile. “In that case, stab yourself first. If you can do it, then I’ll believe you.”
“You…” Lily nearly coughed up blood from rage.

George remained eerily cold from start to finish. Even the police officers shuddered involuntarily. What kind of man was this?
Louisa thought to herself, ‘Just a selfish man who only loves himself. He could act so convincingly he even believed his own performance. That’s because everything was under his control. But once things escaped his control and touched his core interests, he could abandon
anyone.
George seemed to sense her disgust and looked her way, his tone softening again. “I would never treat you that way. Never.”
Louisa smirked inwardly, ‘And now he’s back to performing his earth–shattering devotion.‘
Finally, the police officer spoke up. “Alright, everyone here needs to come with me to the station.”
“I’m afraid we can’t go just yet,” Sadie interjected.
The officer turned to her. “What do you mean?”
Sadie approached the officer and showed her credentials. “I’m an attorney with Brightmoor Law Firm. The reason we came here is because we discovered someone had committed murder and hidden a body here.”
“What?” The police officer was shocked.
Sadie explained everything she knew in detail.
Lily nearly fainted from panic, quickly denying everything. “No, no, she’s talking nonsense! Don’t listen to her!”
The officer ignored Lily’s protests and asked Sadie, “Do you have evidence?”
“Of course!” Sadie took out her phone and showed the officer a video of Lily and Vivian with their bodyguards digging a hole.
At this point, no matter how much Lily denied it, the police had seen the half–dug hole in the middle of the pond, with digging tools still
alongside it.
The officer immediately instructed his colleagues, “Go dig up the body!”
“Yes, sir!” Two officers headed over immediately.
Lily collapsed to the ground. It was over. All over. What could she do now? Who would save them?

Chapter 266
Her mind raced through everyone who might be able to help. Finally, one name surfaced–Lorelei Wolfe.

Yes, Lorelei. Lorelei would know what to do. If Lorelei had helped Gareth eliminate the once–untouchable Oliver family, surely she could
handle this minor situation.
Lily frantically searched for her phone to call Lorelei. She didn’t notice Louisa observing her reactions the entire time. Seeing Lily so panicked and desperate, Louisa was convinced the buried body was real.
But then, the officers at the pond center called out. They had dug up all the soil around the tree and shouted to their captain: “Sir, we
found nothing!”
This statement nearly shattered Louisa and Sadie’s nerves. They exchanged bewildered, confused glances. How could they not find
anything?
Now everyone’s expressions began to change.
“How is that possible?” George asked.
Lily, slumped on the ground, was equally confused: How could they not find it? Where had the body gone?
