After the Affair Falling into a Billionaire's Arms novel Chapter 267

Chapter 267

:

In the end, everyone at the scene was taken to the police station.

Each person was placed in a different room to give their statements. Louisa told the police everything she knew, providing audio recordings and video evidence.

1853

Lily, since discovering the body was missing, had started denying everything. She even dismissed her own daughter Vivian’s statements, claiming Vivian had mental issues and often talked nonsense. After whitewashing her daughter, Lily accused Louisa of trespassing on the Price family orchard with accomplices and encouraging a mentally unstable woman (Becky) to seek revenge and harm her daughter.

The Price family’s driver and bodyguards claimed they knew nothing. As for who called the police, it was just an anonymous tip. No one

knew who had made the call.

The final result: although the night’s events were connected to Mark’s disappearance five years ago with Lily and Vivian implicated, the most crucial evidence was missing. Louisa’s group wasn’t involved in any deaths, but they had trespassed and knocked out the bodyguards.

And Becky, who had come with Louisa and threatened Vivian with a knifehad she been manipulated or encouraged by Louisa to attack?

It couldn’t be determined yet.

Under these circumstances, neither Louisa’s group nor Lily could be released.

Only George was let go. He stood outside the police station smoking, as if everything happening inside had nothing to do with him. He seemed to have forgotten that Louisa’s current predicament stemmed entirely from himthe root of all this trouble.

Meanwhile, in the police chief’s office, Julian sat with his friend. Julian had already explained the situation to the chief. Shortly after, the chief sent someone to the interrogation rooms. A few minutes later, Louisa’s group was released.

By now, they all looked disheveledfaces dirty, clothes covered in dusty soil.

Walking out into the station lobby, Louisa immediately spotted Julian standing in the light, crisp in his white shirt. He somehow never looked messy, always maintaining that calm, collected appearance.

Louisa walked toward him.

Julian raised his hand, gently wiping her face.

Louisa pulled his hand away, noticing the soil now staining his clean, beautiful fingers. It bothered her. Without a word, she used her sleeve to wipe his hand. She didn’t like seeing his cleanliness marred by her dirt.

Julian looked down at her dejected expression and smiled. What’s wrong? Didn’t have fun tonight?

Louisa remained silent.

Julian pulled her into his arms.

Louisa struggled slightly. I’m dirty.

Julian whispered in her ear, Silly girl.

Truthfully, Louisa did feel pretty silly right now.

She looked up at Julian with a pitiful expression. Why wasn’t there anything? All the signs pointed to something being there.

Where had things gone wrong?

Julian spoke softly, Don’t be discouraged. It’s okay. Everything will be resolved soon. Trust me, alright?

His lips brushed against her eargentle, enticing.

Louisa fell under his spell again, nodding foolishly. Okay.

Julian draped his jacket over her cold shoulders. Are you hungry?

Starving.Famished.So hungry. The chorus of voices came from Sadie, Noah, and Jacob.

Louisa didn’t feel hungry herselfshe had no appetite. But everyone had worked so hard with her; she couldn’t let them go hungry.

Louisa looked up at Julian. Should we go eat first?

Julian smiled enigmatically. Sure. You’re always so caring, big sis. Should I call you big sis too?

Louisa went quiet. Julian was mocking her again. She felt like hitting him.

Just then, a tall figure approached from behind.

Thinking it was Jacob or Noah wanting to discuss dinner options, Louisa spoke without turning around. Everyone worked hard today. Just tell me what you want to eat.

The person behind her replied, I’ll eat whatever you choose. I’m not picky.

Those words instantly killed Louisa’s good mood.

She turned around to find George’s irritating face, exactly as she’d feared.

Louisa felt murderous.

Julian gave George a cold look and wrapped his arm around Louisa’s waist.

Before Louisa could respond, George spotted Julian’s hand on her waist and roared, Julian, take your hand off her! Don’t touch her!

He couldn’t bear anyone touching his wifeeven if they were divorced, she was still George’s wife in his mind.

George rushed forward to remove Julian’s hand.

Julian swatted him away, saying coldly, Mr. Capulet, don’t touch my hand. Show some selfrespect.

George fell silent. Who wanted to touch his hand anyway?

Louisa didn’t want to say a single word to George. She instinctively grabbed Julian’s hand and walked quickly toward the exit.

Teddy was standing by a black SUV outside the police station entrance.

Julian gestured for Louisa to get in first.

Seeing this, George tried to shamelessly follow themacting as if he hadn’t been the one threatening Louisa to sign a settlement letter

earlier.

This rabid dog was having another episode.

But George couldn’t get in.

Julian blocked him. Mr. Capulet, sorry, but there’s no room for you in this car.

George glared at him. Julian, don’t think I don’t know what you’re doing. You’re just taking advantage of our divorce to swoop in and

steal her.

Julian laughed. So you do remember you’re divorced! In that case, don’t worry about your exwife. Focus on your current fiancée lying in the hospital, your future motherinlaw sitting in the police station, and your future brotherinlaw who’s on his way. You must be quite

busy.

Exactly!Sadie chimed in, shoving George aside without mercy. Mr. Capulet, future soninlaw of the Price family, you belong with those mad dogs. Go find your motherinlaw and stop harassing our Louisa.

George was furious. Sadie, don’t think I won’t hit you just because you’re a woman!

He stepped forward aggressively.

Noah immediately positioned himself in front of George, cracking his neck. Mr. Capulet, hitting women isn’t impressive. If you want a fight, I’m right here.

Bring it on! You think I’m scared of you?

George raised his fist, ready to throw a punch.

Louisa’s voice came from inside the car: Noah, don’t you know there’s no reasoning with mad dogs? Get in the car. We’re leaving!

Noah waved his fist in front of George’s face, then declared proudly, Louisa says I can’t fight you, so you’re off the hook today!

With that, he turned away and got into the cat.
