Chapter 309
Nicholas dodged quickly. The glass brushed past his eyebrow and chattered on the floor.
Still furious, William stood up, ready to throw punches.
Gareth rushed to intervene, “William, William, calm down! Nicholas was just joking, he
“Keep him away from my son! William was breathing heavily. What father could handle this kind of stuck?
He glanced at Louisa, trying to keep his voice steady, “Louisa, you keep dating Julian. You absolutely cannot lose to a man
Louisa was speechless. How did this circle back to her? She hurried to explain, Mr. Tudor, Julian and I really. She wanted to say they had nothing at all.William held up his hand in a “stop” gesture. “That’s enough. I understand erything. Don’t worry–go ahead and date him. I’ll handle any problems that come up.” He nodded solemnly to Louisa, his meaning clear. The crucial task of normalizing my sIT’S
sexual orientation depends on you,”
Louisa was so distressed she nearly cried.
Julian leaned toward her, barely containing his amusement. “With great power comes great responsibility, Louisa Good luck–I’m counting
on you to set me straight.”

Still at it, huh? Louisa glared at him and muttered, “Old fox.” What did his little fight with his father have to do with her? Why ding ten
into this whirlpool?
Nicholas maintained his heartbroken expression. “Whispering sweet nothings right in front of me. How quickly the new love makes you
forget the old.”
The servers began bringing in food. While lamenting, he started eating with a broken heart.
Meanwhile, William had finally calmed down, with Gareth coaxing him back to his seat.
Gareth smiled. “I was just thinking of introducing Louisa to Nicholas, but it turns out she’s Julian’s girlfriend.”
William snorted. “Give it up. Your troublemaker likes men. Don’t bother finding him girlfriends–find him some young men install, und keep him away from my son.”
“But I remember Nicholas liking girls… Gareth couldn’t believe his nephew was gay. Though over the years, there had been stories abou him with other men. Could it be that incident that changed him?
As he pondered this, Julian gave him a cold look. “Mr. Getty, you’re quite passionate about matchmaking?
Gareth snapped back to the present and looked at Julian. He could tell Julian was annoyed.

“Don’t misunderstand, Julian,” Gareth explained. “I didn’t know Louisa was your girlfriend. When I saw her, I just thought she looked a lot
like Melinda. It made me feel nostalgic, so I couldn’t help showing some concern.”
At these words, William turned to stare at Louisa in shock. He hadn’t met Louisa before, and though she seemed familiar when he first
saw her, he hadn’t given it much thought. Now that Gareth mentioned it, William realized Louisa did resemble Melinda, especially those
eyes–they were remarkably similar.
William was stunned all over again.
Louisa was confused by his reaction. Melinda Bowen? Nicholas’s mother? How strong could the resemblance be to shock them like this?
Both Julian and Nicholas’s eyes simultaneously filled with a cold gleam. Nicholas clenched his fists tightly, clearly suppressing his
emotions. Indeed, sitting at the same table as your father’s killer while pretending to know nothing–how difficult must that be?
Louisa feared he might lose control and throw a punch any second.
At the critical moment, Julian grabbed his wrist and addressed Gareth coolly: “Mr. Getty, you’re quite sentimental. You still remember
what your sister–in–law looked like nearly thirty years after her death. Such loyalty is rare.
“But unrelated people who look alike are common in this world. You should know that better than anyone, shouldn’t you? It’s hardly
surprising.”
Everyone except Louisa knew that years ago, Gareth and his brother had fallen in love with the same woman–Melinda. Melinda chose
Oliver, becoming Gareth’s sister–in–law.
Unable to have her, Gareth was left with an unhealed wound. That’s why every woman in his life bore some resemblance to Melinda. Lorelei looked most like Melinda physically, which is why she became Gareth’s wife.
Now that this had been brought into the open, Gareth felt awkward. “Yes, not surprising at all.”
Julian smirked. The murderous aura around Nicholas subsided somewhat.
“Let’s eat,” William said. “The food’s getting cold.”
Everyone picked up their utensils. Only Louisa didn’t move. She still had her mask on and could only watch the others eat.
Gareth had hoped to use the meal as an opportunity to get Louisa to remove her mask so he could get a better look at her. After Julian’s comments, though, he didn’t dare bring it up again.
After the meal, everyone prepared to leave. The group exited the private room.
William and Gareth walked in front. Julian and Nicholas followed behind them. Louisa, knowing her place, walked at the very back.

Chapter 309

None of them noticed two women sitting in another private room nearby. More specifically, a mother and daughter–Lorelei and her daughter, Angelina Getty.
Through the open window, Angelina, who had been enjoying the view, suddenly spotted the group. “Mom, I see Dad and Nicholas!” she exclaimed excitedly.
Lorelei looked in that direction, her eyes flashing with sharpness. Why was he in Silverlight City?
As she wondered this, she suddenly noticed Louisa walking at the back. Despite Louisa’s mask, a breeze lifted her hair, revealing half of her extraordinarily beautiful profile.
In an instant, Lorelei’s expression changed dramatically, as if she’d seen a ghost.
Angelina stared dreamily at Julian, resting her chin on her hand. “Mom, look at that man. He’s so handsome. I like him.”
Lorelei pushed down her agitation and immediately transformed into a doting mother. She gently stroked her daughter’s sleek hair. “You
like that man walking with Nicholas, don’t you?”
“Yes. I think I already fall in love with him.” Angelina nodded emphatically.
She was beautiful, but there was something childlike about her–her reactions always seemed a beat slower than normal. Lorelei adored
this daughter, treating her like a delicate flower. Whatever Angelina wanted, Lorelei would buy for her.
But now, she had set her sights on Julian.
Hiding the coldness in her eyes, Lorelei tried to dissuade her. “That man is just like Nicholas–he doesn’t listen. He’s no fun at all. Let’s
not play with him. I’ll find you an obedient man to play with, okay?”
Angelina shook her head. “No, I want him.”
Lorelei was about to speak when the door to their private room opened. A man in an impeccable suit walked in. It was George.
The reason Lorelei had brought her daughter here was because she had arranged to meet George. The moment he appeared, his face was
cold, his expression gloomy,
Lorelei smiled. “Mr. Capulet, don’t look so unwilling. If we’re being technical, you should be calling me Aunt Lorelei, just like Vivian does.”
