Chapter 315
Ø70)
The atmosphere turned dangerously tense. Louisa felt like she’d need life support if she stayed in Julian’s apartment a minute longer.
“I should go,” she blurted out.
Without waiting for his response, she bolted from his place like she was escaping a crime scene.
Back in her own apartment, she slumped against the door, gulping down air. When she finally caught her breath, she checked her phone.
As those high–definition photos filled her screen, her face burned hotter than asphalt in August. Holy crap, they were absolutely scandalous. “Mind–blowing” didn’t even come close to describing them.
Thank God Julian hadn’t seen these. He would’ve written her off as a total perv, and she’d never be able to show her face in the building
again.
She deleted the photos at lightning speed.
Just as she collapsed on the couch to decompress, Rachel’s voice message pinged through: “Hey girl, I’m heading out now. See you at the
restaurant.”
The fleeting urge to bail died in Louisa’s throat. After all, this whole thing was her idea. No chickening out now.
Louisa shot back a quick “omw” and tossed her phone onto the cushions.
Judging by Julian’s expression earlier, he definitely suspected something. Could he possibly know what she was planning? Maybe she
should turn off her location sharing?
If Julian wasn’t checking her location, it wouldn’t matter either way. But if he did check and she left it on, he’d know exactly where she was going. Then again, switching it off now would look even more suspicious, like she was up to something shady…
The whole thing was giving her a migraine.
Five minutes had passed. Rachel was probably already on her way. Time to make a decision.
Suddenly, clarity hit her like a bucket of cold water. She and Julian weren’t even in a relationship–why should she care what he thought? Since when did she need his approval?
With newfound resolve, she switched off her location sharing, grabbed her car keys, and headed out.
Little did she know, next door, Julian was actively monitoring her location.
When her signal suddenly disappeared, his face darkened, eyebrows knotting together in a fierce scowl.

Chapter 315
What the hell was Louisa up to? If it was just dinner, why go dark? Especially during these uncertain times
Louisa decided to stop overthinking everything. Life was too short a woman needed to treat herself Shopping, catching up with friends,
buying something special these small pleasures weren’t crimes,
Fifteen minutes later, she arrived at the restaurant. It was a trendy music themed place with great ambiance, and Rachel hade rived
yet.
Louisa hummed along with the background music, scrolling through the menu. Flot long after she ordered, Rachel showed up, dressed
with her signature seductive elegance, the swept her long hul back and
the booth across from Louisa.
Their food arrived shortly after, and they chatted between bites,
The conversation had been perfectly normal until Rachel suddenly asked, “Did you check out the styles I sent you? Which one got you hot
and bothered?”
Louisa immediately choked on her food, coughing several times. Did she have to be so direct? A little warning would ve been nice!
Rachel laughed at her reaction. “Look at you getting all flustered now. What are you going to do when we actually get there? Loosen up a
little–don’t act like such a prude,”
Louisa countered, “You’re the experienced one here, Why don’t you tell me about all your wild adventures?”
They’d known each other for about five years. All Louisn knew was that Rachel once had a fiancé–someone she’d been matched with early on and had a good relationship with. But four years ago, after the Suntos family incident, the engagement was broken off.
Who ended it first, she didn’t know. She only knew that since then, Rachel refused to discuss the man. So even Louisa didn’t know who be
was,
Bringing it up now, Rachel’s expression turned wistful. “Way to kill the mood. Can we please get back to our fun conversation? Let’s talk
about the styles again.”
Louisa’s attempt to change the subject had falled spectacularly,
Rachel pressed on: “I don’t get it. You’ve been married before why are you still so shy? There’s nothing shameful about this. Once you buy a few toys, you’ll get over the awkwardness.”
Louisa was startled, Buy a few? Aren’t they all basically the same?
Rachel rolled her eyes. “Of course they re different! Don’t you get bored using the same old thing all the time?”
Louisa fell silent. Well then. This was definitely uncharted territory for her.

After dinner, they hit the mall. Shopping was truly therapeutic for women who didn’t have to check price tags. By the time they left and headed to the underground parking garage, it was already eight in the evening–time to visit the adult store.
As she approached her car, Louisa glanced around nervously.
Rachel found her guilty demeanor hilarious. “Are you serious right now? This is a perfectly normal need. You really need to get that through your head.”
Louisa had no comeback.
Actually, it wasn’t just the errand making her nervous. The whole time, she’d felt like she was being watched. Yet she hadn’t seen anyone suspicious. Was she just being paranoid?
Little did she know, not far away in another vehicle…
Julian was watching their cars with an expressionless face, dark energy practically radiating from him.
Noah was slumped over the steering wheel, bored out of his mind. Louisa clearly wasn’t cheating–she was just hanging with her friend. They were simply shopping and having dinner. There hadn’t been any danger the entire time they’d been following them.
He couldn’t understand why Julian was so intent on tailing her, acting like a jealous boyfriend on a stakeout.
Seeing Louisa and Rachel start their cars, Noah ventured: “Boss, Ms. Forbes will definitely be upset if she catches us following her like
this. Maybe we should call it a night?”
Julian’s reply was just one ice–cold word: “Follow!”
