Chapter 329
Julian didn’t answer immediately, his gaze dropping to Louisa’s hand clutching his shirt.
His voice carried a note of resignation. “Fine, fine. I’ll help, okay?”
If he didn’t give in now, he was afraid he might not have a girlfriend much longer.
Louisa got the result she wanted and flashed a brilliant smile, then let go of his shirt.
But the next second, Julian grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward him.
Louisa crashed into his embrace, her arms forced around his waist as she instinctively looked up at him.

Julian’s gaze fell on her tempting red lips, his voice dropping to a husky whisper. “Since I’m doing you such a huge favor, one kiss isn’t too
much to ask, is it?”
The intensity of his stare made her heart flutter as she asked weakly, “Mr. Tudor, are you taking advantage of the situation?”
Julian replied, “I only take advantage occasionally. How does that compare to Ms. Forbes burning bridges every single day?”
Louisa fell silent.
Fine. They’d already slept together anyway–what was one kiss?
She lifted her lips and kissed him without hesitation.
Their lips and tongues tangled together. Their breath mingled. Julian savored her sweetness greedily while Louisa gradually found herself
breathless.
She’d been the one to initiate the kiss–how had he ended up taking control?
Time seemed to stretch endlessly before Julian finally ended the intoxicating kiss, leaving Louisa melting in his arms.
He looked down at her and kissed her again, this time with tender passion.
Between kisses, he murmured, “Teresa is my mother’s adopted goddaughter. In my heart, she’s just like all my other siblings–1 only see
her as a sister, nothing more than that.”
“I know.”
Louisa’s breathing was unsteady, but her response was calm.

Chapter 329
Julian and Teresa had grown up together. If he was going to fall for her, it would have happened long ago, not now.
So that comment she’d made earlier was just something she’d said without thinking.
At most, she felt a little uncomfortable about it.
Teresa’s position–calling her the Tudor family’s goddaughter sounded nice, but in reality, she was basically a daughter–in–law the Tudor
family had raised for themselves.
With the Tudor Group being such a massive corporation, forget just arranging a position for their future daughter–in–law–even if they set up an entire department for her to play around in, no one would dare say anything.
It was the working people like herself who suffered. Not only did they have to work their asses off, but they also had to clean up the messes created by these nepotism hires.
So she felt some resentment building up and couldn’t help blurting out that comment.
Julian said, “I know having someone incompetent placed above you limits your talents and creates problems for you. I’ll handle this–just
be patient for a few more days.”
Louisa thought there wasn’t really much to handle. She hadn’t taken Teresa seriously to begin with and didn’t feel particularly wronged. This kind of thing was normal–it happened at every company.
The workplace was never a place where you could talk about fairness.
At most, she just found Teresa annoying.
But she kept this thought to herself.
Instead, she said, “Remember to set up that meeting with Mr. Moss.”
Julian sighed helplessly. “Yes, my girlfriend. I have several meetings this afternoon, but I’ll come with you after they’re done.”
Louisa was about to say it wasn’t necessary–she could handle it alone without him getting involved.
Just then, the car stopped, cutting off her unspoken words.
Louisa glanced out the window. They’d arrived at the Tudor Group’s underground parking garage.
And she was still sitting on Julian’s lap.
She quickly climbed off him and straightened her clothes, telling Julian, ‘You go first. I’ll come out in a bit.”
After that intense kissing session, she needed to touch up her makeup.

Chapter 329
Julian remained silent.
Just how much of an embarrassment was he to her?
But in the end, he respected her wishes and got out of the car first.
As he walked away, he told Teddy, “Call Mr. Rodney Moss later and set up a time. I’ll take him to dinner tonight.”
“Yes, Mr. Tudor.”
Meanwhile, Louisa pulled out a compact mirror from her bag and reapplied her lipstick. Once she was sure everything looked fine, she got
out of the car.
Back in her office, Louisa pulled up more background information on Rodney.
This was a habit she’d developed over the years.
When she was in a disadvantageous position, she had to thoroughly understand her clients or opponents, putting herself in their shoes to
anticipate any questions or challenges they might pose.
By preparing responses in advance, she could maximize her chances of success and avoid being caught off guard.
Marlee saw how seriously she was working and couldn’t help complaining, “All of this could have been avoided. The collaboration between the Tudor Group and the Moss Group was already a done deal. I really don’t understand why Teresa suddenly had to stick her nose in.
What’s the point?
Making you, a deputy director, clean up the mess she created as a director–how does she have the nerve?”
Louisa gave her a cool look. “If those words reach the wrong ears, do you still want to work at the Tudor Group? Control your emotions.”
Marlee said, “I know, Ms. Forbes. Don’t worry, I won’t say this in front of anyone else. I’m just venting to you. What do you think Teresa is trying to accomplish? How does this benefit her?”
Louisa replied, “Who cares what she’s thinking?”
She didn’t want to waste mental energy trying to figure out Teresa’s motives.
She checked her watch–it was almost 3 PM.
After sending Marlee out, she called Teddy.
Teddy picked up quickly. “I was just about to call you.”
