Chapter 338
Julian replies: [Satan. He’s hungry. Come feed him.]
Louisa’s bewildered. She types back: [You brought Satan to the office?]
พร
Julian: [Yes.]
Louisa goes silent.
Why would he bring Satan to work?
Bob’s been taking perfectly good care of Satan at home, hasn’t he?
Bringing him to the office–who’s going to watch him?
With Satan’s size, won’t he scare the other staff?
But the company belongs to Julian. If he wants to bring one dog–hell, multiple animals–nobody can say anything about it.
Except she’s meeting Erica any minute now, and she doesn’t have dog food in her office. She’d need to go buy some.
There’s definitely not enough time.
Louisa considers this. Satan just needs to eat something. As long as he’s fed, it shouldn’t matter who does it, right?
She steps out of her office and asks Marlee to buy some dog food and go upstairs to feed Satan.
Marlee loves animals anyway. She agrees immediately.
Only then does Louisa head to the parking garage to meet Erica.
Marlee doesn’t waste time either. She immediately goes to a nearby supermarket for dog food, then heads up to the 36th floor.
From a distance, through the glass walls of the executive office, she spots Satan.
He’s lounging by the floor–to–ceiling windows, soaking up the sun and A/C while taking in the view.
Sunlight bathes his golden coat. His posture radiates pure lazy contentment.
That level of leisure makes all of them working stiffs insanely envious.
Marlee can’t wait to get in there and run her fingers through that wild golden fur.

But just then, something strikes her as off.
Julian’s sitting in his office working.
Teddy’s also in his office, leisurely sipping coffee.
The cluster of secretaries in the secretary pool are gathered together, eating lunch and chatting.
Everyone seems pretty free. Any of them could buy dog food. Why does it specifically have to be Louisa?

Louisa’s so busy–such a small errand really doesn’t need her involvement, does it?
Warning bells go off in Marlee’s head. She doesn’t dare proceed. Making a quick pivot, she heads straight to knock on Teddy’s office door
instead.
Teddy says, “Come in,” simultaneously looking up in surprise. “Ms. Salazar, what’s wrong?”
His tone is gentle.
Marlee smiles politely, holding up the dog food. “Ms. Forbes asked me to buy this and come feed Satan, but…”
“But now you’re getting a weird vibe, aren’t you?”
Teddy finishes her sentence.
Marlee nods.
Teddy immediately follows up: “Where’s Louisa? Why didn’t she come herself?”
Marlee explains the situation.
Teddy lets out a long sigh.
Others might not know, but he understands all too well–Julian’s upset and wants his girlfriend to come soothe him. That’s why he brought Satan to the office, giving himself a convenient excuse.
Who knew Louisa wouldn’t take the bait?
Now she’s not even showing her face, directly delegating the dog–feeding duty to Marlee.
Julian doesn’t get to see his girlfriend.
Looks like everyone’s afternoon is about to get even more unbearable.

Teddy sighs again.
:
But he doesn’t want to alarm Marlee, so he pats her shoulder amiably. “Since Louisa sent you, go ahead.”
Marlee still feels something’s off, but can’t pinpoint what. She can only go knock on Julian’s office door.
The next second, Marlee understands what those two sighs meant.
He was mourning her in advance.
Standing far away in the doorway, meeting Julian’s frighteningly cold eyes, her heart pounds wildly. She can barely stay upright.
Though she’s had the privilege of seeing Julian a few times while working with Louisa, never before has this big boss’s aura felt so
terrifying.
She stammers, ‘M–Mr. Tudor, Ms. Forbes sent me to f–f–feed Satan.”
Julian stares at her coldly. Three full seconds.
Marlee feels like she’s dying. Someone get her a ventilator.
Julian finally looks away, gesturing coldly. “Go feed him then.
