Chapter 353
That man looked very much like Oliver’s bodyguard, Anson Glover.
The moment that name appeared in Gareth’s mind, he was completely stunned, unable to speak for a long while.
Why would Louisa be with Anson?
Louisa’s face immediately floated before Gareth’s eyes.
After they’d parted last time, he’d immediately investigated Louisa and discovered her true appearance–a face remarkably similar to Melinda’s.
For several days after that, Gareth had been unable to recover, constantly thinking about that face, trapped in a state of disbelief and shock.
He’d almost been certain that Louisa was Melinda and his eldest brother’s daughter.
But the investigation results told him that Louisa had no connection whatsoever to either Melinda or Oliver. Their resemblance was
purely coincidental.
He’d already accepted that fact.
So why was Louisa now with Anson?
Gareth felt he absolutely had to get to the bottom of this.
He turned to his daughter. “Angelina, I’m going to buy you some more treats. Be a good girl and stay in the car. I’ll be right back.”
Then he told the driver up front, “Keep a good eye on Angelina. Don’t let her wander off.”
“Yes, Mr. Getty. I will.”
Gareth got out of the car.
Inside the supermarket, Louisa was pushing a shopping cart, browsing with Brian.
When they reached the fresh food section, Louisa was concentrating on selecting ingredients, chatting with her father while she picked
things out.
But mid–conversation, she turned around to find her father had disappeared.
Confused, she looked around for Brian.

Before she could find him, she spotted the well–dressed, refined Gareth instead.
Gareth had already reached her.
He smiled and greeted her. “Ms. Forbes, hello. We meet again.”
Louisa was surprised at first, then offered a polite greeting. “Mr. Getty, hello.”
Gareth nodded, his eyes fixed intently on Louisa. The more he looked, the harder it was to look away.
After all, seeing photos was different from seeing someone in person. It was hard not to stare.
Though there was nothing lewd in his gaze, Louisa still felt uncomfortable. She said coolly, “Mr. Getty, is there something you need?”
Only then did Gareth snap out of it. “Please don’t misunderstand, Ms. Forbes. I mean nothing by it. It’s just that you look so much like
someone I once knew.”
Louisa naturally knew who this “someone” was, and her mood soured further.
You had an unrequited love for your own sister–in–law, drove your own brother to his death, and now you’re here playing the devoted
romantic?
Louisa felt deep disgust for this type of person.
Gareth glanced around her, not seeing Anson anywhere.
He asked, “Is Ms. Forbes here alone? Where is Mr. Glover?”
Mr. Glover?
Louisa froze. Who?
Gareth asked again, “You didn’t come alone, did you, Ms. Forbes?”
Louisa fell silent.
Whether she came alone or not was none of Gareth’s business, was it? Wasn’t he asking too many questions?
After Julian had told Louisa about Gareth last time, she’d developed an extraordinary wariness of him.
Since her father wasn’t around anyway, Louisa didn’t reveal his presence. She said coolly, “Can’t someone shop at the supermarket alone?”
“That’s not what I meant…” Gareth didn’t know how to ask about Anson.

Just then, an unfamiliar man walked over, wearing clothes identical to what Brian had been wearing.
Louisa wondered if this outfit was particularly popular or something.
Gareth also examined the stranger with a scrutinizing gaze.
The stranger smiled at Louisa and opened his palm, revealing a woman’s hair clip.
He asked, “Miss, I found this by the entrance just now. Is it yours?”
Louisa shook her head. “No.”
The man smiled politely again. “Sorry to bother you, then.”
He nodded courteously at Gareth and left.
Only then did Gareth snap out of this sudden interruption.
He watched the man’s retreating back, remembering clearly that Anson had been wearing exactly that outfit.
But why, when this man had just walked over, did he look nothing at all like Anson?
Had he been mistaken earlier? Was that person not Anson at all?
Louisa noticed Gareth staring after the stranger and couldn’t figure out what was going on either.
But she didn’t care enough to think about it. Taking the opportunity, she said, “Mr. Getty, I have things to do. Goodbye.”
Though Gareth still wanted to talk to her, since she’d made it that clear, he had no choice but to bid her a polite farewell.
Back in the car, he remained in a dazed, distracted state.
Angelina pulled at his hand, looking for chocolate.
When she couldn’t find any, Angelina started crying again. “Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate.”
Gareth, irritated by her crying, pulled out the chocolate he’d bought earlier and gave it to her. But Angelina wasn’t so easily placated.
She threw the chocolate down and cried even louder.
Helpless, Gareth had to send the driver out to buy a new box.
He looked at his simple–minded daughter and thought of Louisa–poised, steady, intelligent…

Chapter 353
Inside the supermarket, Louisa called her father. Learning he’d made an emergency trip to the restroom, she relaxed and waited patiently.
Fifteen minutes later, Brian emerged from the restroom, still wearing the outfit he’d arrived in.
Louisa couldn’t help looking him over.
Brian asked curiously, “What’s wrong? Is something off?”
Louisa shook her head. “Nothing.”
She just thought the whole series of events had been too strange. But since she couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was strange about it, she
decided not to ask.
After finishing their shopping, they headed straight home.
Brian had already brought plenty of things from home, and now they’d bought even more at the supermarket. Both of them had their
hands full.
But they didn’t feel burdened at all, chatting and laughing as they walked to the elevator.
As they talked, Brian circled back to Louisa’s marriage prospects.
“Louisa, if you ask me, you should settle down again. When I came over today, our neighbor made a special trip to ask me if you’d be interested in meeting his son.”
“Dad…” Louisa said helplessly, “Didn’t we agree not to talk about this anymore?”
She really didn’t understand what was going on with her father. Previously, he’d never cared much about whether she got married or not. Why was he bringing it up so frequently lately?
“I just think that having someone to take care of you would put my mind at ease,” Brian said.
As parents, they always worried about what would happen to their children when they were gone.
Louisa understood her father’s concern, so she didn’t argue further. Instead, she linked her arm through his and acted coy. “I’m not getting married. I’m going to stay with Dad. There’s not a man in this world better than my dad. My dad will protect me forever.”
“Oh, you!” The words successfully made Brian laugh, and he dropped the subject.
But Louisa suddenly felt a chill on the back of her neck.
She was about to turn around when the elevator arrived.
She didn’t look back, just picked up her bags and entered the elevator with her father.

But as she was about to close the doors, she noticed two more people walking in from outside.
The man in front was tall and devastatingly handsome.
Louisa’s mind went blank. “Mr. Tudor?”
