Chapter 354

What a coincidence, right?

And what time was it anyway? Was Julian already done with work?

Louisa found it strange.

At the same time, Brian’s gaze landed on Julian.

Honestly, Brian had seen plenty of handsome men in his lifetime. Oliver, the man he used to protect, had been quite handsome. His

damned exsoninlaw had been handsome, too.

But this man looked like he’d walked straight out of a paintingunreasonably goodlooking.

Hearing his daughter’s form of address, he asked Louisa, And this is?

My boss.

Louisa immediately made introductions.

Julian shot her a cool glance, clearly displeased with that description.

But he didn’t say anything about it. Instead, he smiled at Brian. Mr. Forbes, hello. I’m Julian Tudor.

Your surname is Tudor?

Brian was stunned by the name.

No wonder Julian had seemed somewhat familiar when he first saw him.

Brian looked Julian up and down, asking tentatively, Are youthe Tudor family’s third son?

I’m the third child in my family. Please, just call me Julian, Mr. Forbes.

Of course, of course.

Brian nodded repeatedly, still looking dazed.

Louisa found his reaction strange. Dad, you never watch the news. How do you know he’s the Tudor family’s third son?

Only then did Brian snap out of it. He and Julian both looked at Louisa simultaneously.

I happened to catch a few news segments. They mentioned it.

Brian brushed it off vaguely.

But Louisa still thought something was off. In her memory, Julian had always kept a low profile, rarely appearing in public. And his siblings weren’t public figures eithervery few people knew he was third in the family.

Yet her father knew?

This was too strange.

But before she could ask more questions, the elevator arrived. She had no choice but to head home first.

Louisa and Brian bent down to pick up their bags from the floor.

As she bent over, Julian scooped up Louisa’s things first.

Seeing this, Teddy quickly rushed to help Brian.

Brian thanked him profusely.

Teddy laughed awkwardly. Please don’t thank memy boss is helping out, what choice do I have? He was terrified his boss might fire him

on the spot.

The four of them reached Louisa’s door together.

Brian asked Julian curiously, Mr. Tudor, do you also live in this complex?

Yes. Louisa and I are neighbors.

Brian looked left, then right. There were only two units on this floor.

Besides his daughter’s unit, the remaining one..

Brian asked Julian, The unit next dooris that yours?

Yes.

Brian smiled, speaking warmly. Since we’re neighbors, if you don’t mind, Mr. Tudor, please join us for dinner. My Louisa is an excellent

cook.

Louisa cringed internally. Dad, please stop. He has already criticized your daughter’s cooking countless times.

Julian glanced at Louisa and chuckled. That sounds wonderful. Thank you, Mr. Forbes and Ms. Forbes.

Chapter 334

Not at all, not at all.

Brian warmly invited him inside.

He tried to invite Teddy in, too, but Teddy made up an excuse and bolted.

Are you kidding? He wouldn’t dare interfere with his boss meeting his girlfriend’s parent.

Once inside, Louisa carried the groceries into the kitchen and immediately pulled out her phone to text Julian: [Don’t you dare say

anything inappropriate. Got it?]

Julian quickly replied: [I’m not quite sure what Ms. Forbes means by anything inappropriate.Could you be more specific?]

Louisa fell silent.

Julian was clearly doing this on purpose. How could he not know? No one was more cunning than he.

As she mentally cursed him out, another message came through: [Relax. I’m just here to meet my future fatherinlaw. Until my girlfriend agrees to go public, I won’t say anything out of line.]

The way he so naturally kept calling her his girlfriend made Louisa’s heart race anxiously.

She sent another threat: [You rememberno nonsense, or I’ll bite you to death.]

Julian: [Fine. Tonight, you can bite me however you want. I’m just wondering where exactly Ms. Forbes plans to bite?]

The doting, suggestive tone seemed to drift through the phone screen.

Louisa quickly put down her phone, refusing to reply further, and started cooking..

But she was still worried, periodically peeking out to check on them.

She couldn’t help itin her eyes, Julian right now was a walking time bomb that could go off in her house at any moment.

Eventually, she saw her father and Julian settle in for a game of chess.

She relaxed slightly.

Her father was a chess fanatic. When he played, he couldn’t pay much attention to what anyone was saying.

Julian, except when he was with her, was usually mildmannered and conversational, gentlemanly and tactful, his words leaving no trace.

With Brian’s mind fully on the chess game, he answered Julian’s questions without thinking twice.

After just a few rounds, Brian had spilled all of his daughter’s embarrassing childhood stories.

Louisa pressed her hand to her forehead helplessly. Whatever. As long as Julian didn’t say what he shouldn’t, it was fine.

An hour later, she’d finished cookingmostly dishes her father liked, plus some of Julian’s favorites.

Julian helped her carry everything to the table.

During dinner, Brian had already become comfortable with Julian. He stopped calling him Mr. Tudor and started using his first name.

Several times, Brian looked at Julian as if about to say something, then swallowed his words at the last second.

Julian seemed to know what he wanted to say, but didn’t point it out, changing the subject and continuing their conversation.

This gave Louisa a strange feelingthese two seemed like old acquaintances with some unspoken understanding.

But that couldn’t be right, could it?

She must be going crazy to think such a thing.

Whatever. She wouldn’t overthink it. She’d just keep observing.

Louisa ate quietly while listening to their conversation.

Suddenly, Brian’s phone rang.

He pulled it out to check the caller, didn’t answer immediately, but glanced at Louisa, then at Julian.

Finally, he pressed the answer button and put it on speaker, his voice cheerful. Patty, what’s up?

This Patty was the neighbor he’d just mentioned to Louisathe one who’d come asking about a match.

On the phone, Patty had no idea what the situation was on their end.

Her voice came through urgently. Brian, you’ve been in Silverlight City for hours now. You’ve seen Louisa, right? Have you already talked to her about that matter?

You know my Ryder has always had feelings for Louisa. All these years, he’s been waiting for her, refusing to get married

What does Louisa think about this? If she’s willing, I’ll have Ryder head over right away so the young people can meet and talk.
