Chapter 355
Those words left Louisa completely stunned.
“Ms. Forbes seems quite busy–still going on blind dates?”
Beside her came Julian’s exceptionally gentle voice.
Steeling herself, she looked over to meet Julian’s warm smile and extraordinarily tender gaze.
God, please save her.
If he had a cold face, she wouldn’t be that scared.
What terrified her was this smile hiding a knife–it was absolutely bone–chilling.
She was about to cry, stammering, “I d–don’t know anything about this.”
Julian continued smiling, but that smile carried blades. “It’s fine. Finding out now isn’t too late. No wonder Ms. Forbes had such a long secret conversation last night. Why didn’t you tell me? I could
have helped you screen the candidates.”
Louisa fell silent.
Could he please stop talking?
They didn’t notice that Brian, sitting to the side, had caught their interaction.
He smiled quietly to himself and said to the person on the phone, “Patty, here’s the thing–my
Louisa’s been so busy with work, I haven’t had a chance to bring it up yet. Don’t have Ryder come
over today. They’re both in Silverlight City anyway they can meet anytime. Let me talk to Louisa
about this first, then we’ll be in touch.”
“…Alright, then.”
Patty couldn’t say much more and hung up.
But a storm had already been unleashed in the house.
Julian glanced at Louisa lightly. “Ms. Forbes, I’m a bit thirsty. Could you get me some water?”

Chapter 355
“Yes, yes, no problem.”
She really needed to escape for a moment. She couldn’t handle Julian’s death stare.
She hurried into the kitchen, patting her chest and taking a long breath.

Five minutes later, feeling much better with her heart gradually calming, she grabbed two glasses and emerged from the kitchen to get water. But what she saw made her freeze–in the dining room, only Julian remained, leisurely sipping tea.
Her father was over by the luggage, pulling out some personal items.
Louisa was dumbfounded.
What was happening?
Had the two of them hit it off and decided to elope?
She immediately walked over. “Dad, what are you doing?”
By now, Brian had found what he needed and packed it into a clean bag. He said to Louisa, “Louisa, you only have one bedroom here. It’s not convenient for me to stay. I’m going to sleep at Julian’s
place. He has more space.”
Louisa thought: What on earth?
She’d only been gone five minutes–how had things progressed to this point?
Of course, she trusted her father wasn’t this forward with strangers. Julian must have sweet–talked
him.
Louisa rushed over. “Dad, Dad, my boss is very busy. Let’s not bother him. I’ll book you a room downstairs at a five–star hotel, okay?”
She attempted to bribe her own father.
“Why waste that money? You know my personality–I’m not picky.”
“But we could-

Then he looked at Louisa coolly. “We get along so well, yet Ms. Forbes keeps trying to interfere.
Could you be afraid of something?”
Louisa fell silent.
That’s not how you use ‘get along so well.‘
She struggled for a full minute. Seeing there was no way to reverse this situation–the two of them really did get along well–she couldn’t keep interfering.
She had no choice. “Then… Dad, you go ahead. I need to have a word with Mr. Tudor.”
“You two take your time. I’m not in a hurry.”
Brian took his things and left with a smile.
Louisa closed the door.
But before she could turn around, Julian had her pressed against the wall.
So close. So dangerously close.
His masculine scent mixed with cool cedar aggressively invaded every one of Louisa’s pores.
She shivered.
Julian’s arm around her waist gradually tightened. His pale fingers gripped her chin, tilting it up…
Then Louisa saw those cold eyes gleaming with dangerous light.
She was done for. He was truly angry.
Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around him, smiling placatingly. “Don’t be mad. I never said I’d
meet him.”

Julian stared at her for two seconds.
Suddenly, he lowered his head and kissed her lips fiercely, his voice muffled as if genuinely hurt. “If I
weren’t around, would you have gone to meet him?”
With that, he released her and turned to leave.
Louisa was stunned, watching his back. Seriously? Was he actually throwing a tantrum?
Did Julian have no awareness of his aloof male god persona anymore?
Seeing him actually open the door to leave, she quickly grabbed him.
She hadn’t said what she needed to yet–she couldn’t let him leave like this.
Julian shook off her hand and kept walking.
In desperation, Louisa wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.
Julian shuddered at her action, but at least stopped moving.
Louisa circled around to face him, looping her arms around his neck. She kissed him very gently on
the lips, her tone soft and sweet. “Please don’t be mad anymore.”
Julian looked down at her, his voice sulky. “I’m in a really bad mood right now.”
Louisa thought for a moment, trying to lighten the atmosphere. “…Then I’ll buy you a bag of Happy Nuts tomorrow? Maybe it’ll actually make you happy”
Julian fell silent.
He didn’t speak, just looked at her wordlessly, as if accusing her of heartlessness.
Helpless, Louisa said, “After my dad leaves, I’ll make it up to you properly. Okay?”
Julian looked extremely reluctant. “Fine, I suppose.”
Louisa finally breathed a sigh of relief. “Then I’m entrusting my dad to you.”
Julian made a sound of agreement, pulling her close resting his chin on her shoulder in a gesture of

Louisa’s heart softened. This embrace suddenly gave her the illusion that she was his entire world.
When he finally left, he kissed her fiercely.
Louisa had wanted to remind him not to say anything inappropriate to her father, but thought better of it. She’d finally managed to soothe him–no point risking upsetting him again.
Otherwise, she’d be the one to suffer.
When Julian returned to his own place half an hour later, Brian was sitting in his living room chatting with Bob on the sofa.
Two people of similar age had more common ground.
Julian changed his shoes while saying, “Bob, go prepare the guest room. Mr. Forbes will be staying
here tonight.”
“Right away.”
Bob headed upstairs.
Now, without Louisa present, Julian and Brian stopped hiding anything.
Julian gestured with his palm up. “Mr. Forbes, shall we talk in the study?”
