Chapter 356
Brian nodded and followed Julian into the study.
Julian closed the door, and they sat facing each other on the sofas in the lounge area.
“Some tea?” Julian asked.
“Sure.”
Julian personally prepared the tea.
The study was very quiet, filled only with the sound of water heating. Steam rose, drifting between
them.
Brian watched him for a long moment. “Julian, you and my Louisa aren’t just in a boss–employee
relationship, are you?”
A smile gradually appeared on Julian’s serene, handsome face. He didn’t evade. “I’m pursuing her.”
Brian smiled too. “My daughter has had admirers around her since she was little, but she’s always taken relationships very seriously. She guards her heart carefully. And after what happened with George, she’s been hurt. If you really want to pursue her, you’ll need to put in the effort.”
Julian nodded.
He understood this better than anyone.
He didn’t say much, only one sentence. “I’ll protect her and keep her from any harm. So please, Mr.
Glover, rest assured.”
At that final sentence, Julian looked up at him.
Brian reeled from the form of address.
Though he’d been mentally prepared, he was still shocked in this moment.
That’s right–Brian Forbes was Anson Glover.
At the supermarket entrance earlier today, Gareth hadn’t been mistaken.

Chapter 356
Brian was indeed one of Oliver’s bodyguards from twenty–seven years ago. His real name was Anson
Glover.
After the incident twenty–seven years ago, to escape the pursuit of enemies seeking revenge, Anson
had changed his name to Brian.
Today at the supermarket, he’d recognized Gareth too. To avoid being recognized, he’d quickly hidden. Seeing Gareth approach Louisa, knowing Gareth had grown suspicious, he’d traded clothes with someone of similar build and had that person appear before Gareth and Louisa wearing his
outfit.
He’d fooled Gareth. He’d fooled Louisa. But he hadn’t fooled Julian.
Julian poured him a cup of tea. “Mr. Glover, please have some tea.”
Brian lifted the cup, holding it with both hands. As he brought it to his lips, his hands wouldn’t stop shaking–several times, he couldn’t get it to his mouth.
After a while, he steadied his emotions. “I’m sorry. It’s been many years since anyone called me by
that name. I lost control for a moment.”
He quickly finished the tea and looked at Julian. “When did you learn about Louisa’s identity?”
“Half a month ago. Louisa and Nicholas met.”
Brian startled again, disbelief in his voice. “Louisa and Mr. Nicholas Getty have already met?”
“Don’t be alarmed. They didn’t recognize each other
Only then did Brian belatedly nod. “Good that they didn’t. Good.”
“Nicholas knows the Getty family isn’t peaceful right now,” Julian explained. “Acknowledging Louisa would only drag her into danger, so he said nothing to her. He didn’t even dare investigate deeply or do a DNA test. I only confirmed everything today after seeing you.”
Oliver and William had been close friends. When Oliver was alive, they’d spent a lot of time together. So Brian, following Oliver, had visited Tudor Manor many times and seen Julian frequently.
Though twenty–seven years ago Julian had only been four years old, he was the one among the Tudor

family’s four sons who most resembled William.

That’s why today in the elevator, Brian had immediately identified Julian as the Tudor family’s third
son.
And Julian, precisely because Brian had recognized him, had confirmed Brian’s identity as Anson.
Julian looked at Brian seriously. “Mr. Glover, Nicholas has always wanted to say thank you. Thank you for raising Louisa, for giving her a home, for raising her so well.”
Brian shook his head. “Mr. Oliver Getty saved my life. Raising his daughter was my duty. No thanks necessary. Besides, Louisa is very devoted.”
Julian thought for a long moment before finally asking that question. “Mr. Glover, can you tell me
what happened twenty–seven years ago?”
Brian slowly nodded, his thoughts returning to that night twenty–seven years past.
It was a night filled with blood and slaughter.
Gareth and Oliver were full brothers from the same parents.
Oliver was a natural business genius, with an almost instinctive sensitivity to market changes. He’d always felt that those gray–area tactics skirting the law couldn’t last, and he’d wanted to pull out completely, to rebuild on a clean, stable foundation.
His previous major decisions had indeed successfully pushed the Getty Group toward internal
reform.
As for Gareth, because of Oliver’s existence, he received little attention within the Getty family. He feared that after the Getty Group’s complete reform, there’d be no place for him.
So to seize control of the Getty Group, he’d developed murderous intent.
At that time, Dominic and Owen were both subordinates within the Getty Group. Lorelei was still
Gareth’s mistress.
Dominic and Owen, because of their impure motives weren’t trusted by Oliver. So they’d aligned with Gareth’s camp, constantly advocating for Gareth to break with Oliver and divide the Getty

Group.
Lorelei was extremely ambitious, decisive, and ruthless in her actions. She wanted to monopolize
everything.
So before Gareth had even decided whether to actually move against Oliver, she’d already struck
first.
She’d gone under the pretense of visiting Melinda, then directly took Melinda hostage.
At the time, Louisa was only three days old, and Melinda was still in postpartum recovery.
When Oliver received the news and rushed to rescue his wife and daughter, the moment he arrived,
he fell into Lorelei’s trap–she’d drugged him.
Taking advantage of his unconsciousness, Lorelei injected him with narcotics.
It was a new type of drug that Gareth’s people had just developed–highly toxic. Though no one had tested it yet, supposedly, anyone injected with this drug would have all their organs tormented by
the virus. A fate worse than death.
But even that wasn’t the end.
This agony would last a full twenty–four hours. After twenty–four hours, the toxicity would invade the person’s brain, turning them into a puppet for others to manipulate.
