Chapter 369
There could be no future between them.
His mother would never agree.
Tudor Manor.
Teresa sat on the living room sofa, sobbing intermittently. She’d been crying for half an hour.
Adeline had been angry at first. She hadn’t expected that in just one month at the Tudor Group, Louisa would rise three levels.
She’d been thinking Louisa was too calculating, actually managing to make her son mix business with pleasure by promoting Louisa to full Director.
But William had explained it to her – everything was for the company’s benefit. Louisa truly had the capability.
So she’d let it go.
She didn’t really care about company changes anyway. She only cared about her son’s marriage.
She sighed helplessly. “I told you before – come back regularly, tell me how things are going between you and Julian, and I’ll help you figure something out. You never agreed. You wouldn’t take this shortcut, always wanting to let things develop naturally with Julian. Well, now Louisa’s in position, and Julian’s completely smitten with her. What can I possibly do now?”
Through her blurred tears, Teresa looked at Adeline. “Mom Adeline, do I have no chance left at all?”
The pitiful tone was completely devoid of her usual arrogance.
Seeing her like this, Adeline felt both pity and helplessness.
After a moment of thought, she asked Teresa: “Do you still really like Julian?”
Teresa nodded without hesitation. “I like him. From the day I came to the Tudor family until now, my feelings for him have never changed.”
Adeline nodded.
Truthfully, Teresa was her chosen daughter–in–law. All these years, she’d been raising Teresa as such.
There was no way she could accept someone like Louisa being with her son.
After thinking, Adeline said to Teresa: “No matter what, you must acknowledge one fact – Julian likes Louisa right now. He really likes her. Even if Louisa falls short of you in every way, she’s already captured Julian’s heart. That’s reality. So if you still want to be with Julian, you need to swallow your pride and learn from Louisa.”
Teresa frowned.
Learn from Louisa?

Chapter 369
She felt that was an insult.
But she had no other options.
After a brief silence, she looked at Adeline with determined eyes, as if she’d made some kind of resolution: “Mom Adeline, tell me what should I do?”
After lunch, Louisa left the company.
This was because Marlee and Erica had taken turns persuading her that as a newly promoted Director, she should hold a department–wide meeting.
But Louisa didn’t want to make such a show.
The department’s atmosphere was fine. If she had something to say, she could say it during the regular morning meeting. There was no need for a special
meeting.
But everyone seemed to think a new leader should display authority. Everyone who saw her looked nervous.
She simply left the company to do field research on a project.
By the time she finished her research, it was after work hours.
Not wanting to return to the office, she drove aimlessly around the streets.
When hungry, she randomly found a food stall and ordered a bowl of lobster ravioli.
People came and went around her. She paid them no mind.
Suddenly, someone stopped beside her without moving.
A familiar voice accompanied it: “Ms. Forbes, does this lobster ravioli have a grudge against you? Why are you stripping off all its clothes?”
Louisa looked down – sure enough, she’d poked and prodded until all the ravioli wrappers had broken apart.
But then she realized something was off.
That voice…
She looked up at the person: “Julian? What are you doing here?”
Could she run into him just eating a meal?
Wasn’t this too coincidental?
