Chapter 381
Louisa knew Julian meant well, but she still couldn’t bring herself to move
“What could Teresa possibly do to me?”
4完30%專
Not that she was underestimating Teresa.
Teresa didn’t seem like someone raised in a wealthy family at all–no real capability, no cunning, not even enough composure. Apart from
arrogance, all she had left was throwing tantrums.
Oh, she should add one more thing–Teresa’s newly unlocked skill: tattling
Louisa snorted disdainfully. “Just because she can’t have Julian, the whole world has to accommodate her jilted–woman emotions? She gives me
trouble, and I won’t fight back? Should I just take it lying down?”
She wasn’t someone who could be easily bullied.
Just then, two people came in from outside, carrying boxes into Louisa’s office.
Following them was Teresa’s assistant, Hatty.
She seemed to be in a foul mood, her tone haughty and impatient as she directed the workers.
Louisa’s expression turned cold instantly, radiating authority. “What do you think you’re doing?”
Hatty was just an assistant, after all, and was momentarily cowed.
But thinking of her boss’s demotion, Hatty couldn’t muster a good attitude Her face equally cold, she said, “Ms. Forbes, surely you, who got promoted, know that our Ms. Hughes was demoted? Naturally, I’m moving things over for Ms. Hughes.”
Seeing her righteous indignation, Louisa didn’t get angry–she laughed. “Hitty, how long have you been with the company?”
Hatty froze, not understanding what Louisa meant, and stupidly replied, “wo years.”
Louisa nodded. ‘Ms. Hughes’s demotion is her problem. You’re coming her to champion her cause–do you think that people without ability shouldn’t be outperformed by those with more ability? Or do you believe that lazy people shouldn’t be shown up by harder workers?”
Her tone was calm and measured, yet carried immense pressure.
Hatty was struck speechless.
Louisa sneered. “You’ve worked for two years and still don’t know the cardhal rules of the workplace. No wonder your boss got demoted.”
Teddy’s expression darkened too. Besides, Ms. Hughes’s demotion was Mudor’s decision. You’re here criticizing Ms. Forbes for no reason- are you saying Mr. Tudor’s judgment is flawed? Did Mr. Tudor make a mist ke? I think you don’t want this job anymore. Go settle your salary
with Finance. You can leave now.”
Hatty’s face went deathly pale as she immediately apologized. ‘I’m sorry, N. Young, I didn’t mean that. I wasn’t saying this is Mr. Tudor’s
fault…”

‘If it’s not Mr. Tudor’s fault, whose is it? Ms. Forbes’s?”

Teddy pressed relentlessly, with no intention of backing down.
Louisa hadn’t expected Teddy to lose his temper like this.
Having worked with him for so long, she’d almost forgotten that Teddy had his own authority. He was Julian’s special assistant–even senior executives had to show him respect, let alone a minor employee.
Teddy absolutely had the authority to fire her.
Hatty was so frightened she didn’t dare speak, terrified of being dismissed Nearly in tears, she turned to apologize to Louisa:
“I’m sorry, Ms. Forbes, I didn’t mean to target you. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. lease put in a good word for me, I’m begging you…”
Louisa didn’t respond immediately.
She could understand Hatty. As Teresa’s assistant, Hatty couldn’t reach these above her, while those below showed her respect for Teresa’s sake.
This had cultivated Hatty’s contemptuous attitude, and over time, natural, her temper had grown.
Moreover, Teresa had been demoted two levels–anyone would struggle with that.
Louisa’s attitude softened slightly. “Everyone should be responsible for their own actions. Leave.”
Seeing she wasn’t as stern as before, Hatty quickly asked, “What about my job…”
“Out!”
Louisa barked sharply.
Hatty had confronted her directly–there was no way she’d plead for Hatty case in front of her.
Hatty didn’t know what Louisa meant and didn’t dare speak further, running out in tears.
Only then did Louisa turn to Teddy. “She was definitely out of line, but does she really need to be fired? Besides, we’ve both reprimanded her-
that’s punishment enough.”
Teddy countered, ‘Do you know why Teresa was demoted twice in a row?
Louisa asked, “Why?”
She’d heard Julian mention it in the car but hadn’t asked for details.
Teddy smiled. Because she paraded in front of you all high and mighty. MTudor said every time Teresa upsets you, he’ll demote her once.
When there are no more positions to demote her to, she’ll have to get out of the Tudor Group.”
Louisa was stunned, unable to believe Julian would abuse his power like this for personal reasons.
Teddy continued, “There’s so much you don’t know. All the things Mr. Tud’s done for you–you have no idea.”

Chapter 381
Louisa fell silent.
If it were any other man, they’d do one thing and brag about ten.
But Julian–after doing everything, he’d mention it casually.
More often, he wouldn’t mention it at all.
What woman wouldn’t be moved?
Just then, the two workers moving Teresa’s things asked, “Ms. Forbes, what should we do with these items?”
Louisa was silent for two seconds. “Put down Ms. Hughes’s things. Don’t touch mine.”
“Yes, yes, we absolutely won’t touch anything.”
Louisa nodded and went upstairs with Teddy.
Regarding the office move, she still needed to talk to Julian about it.
She still felt it wasn’t appropriate for her to move to Julian’s floor.
But when she reached the 36th floor, Julian was still in a meeting.
So Teddy took her to see her new office.

Because Julian preferred quiet, this floor had few staff to begin with. The early ten–thousand–square–foot space, besides Julian and Teddy’s offices, only had a secretary’s work area near the elevator.
Louisa’s new office was at the other end in a more secluded spot, with its own elevator access–very convenient.
Though not huge, the office wasn’t small either. It had an independent bathroom and rest area, plus a small beverage bar. The decor was all in
the warm tones and vintage literary style she loved.
Most importantly, this office had floor–to–ceiling curved windows on the suthwest walls, offering an unobstructed view of the lake outside and even Silverlight City’s iconic landmark, Lighthouse Tower.
She fell in love with the place instantly, lost in gazing at the scenery outse. She didn’t even notice when Julian walked in.
