Chapter 382
Julian silently approached her, watching her lost in thought. His lips curved slightly as he leaned close to her ear. “Like it?”
Louisa jumped, instinctively dodging to the side.
Julian quickly placed his hand on the edge of the desk, preventing her from bumping into it.
After a moment’s hesitation, Louisa finally admitted, “Yes.”
Julian smiled faintly. “Then can you tell me why you’re so drawn to Lighthouse Tower?”
He’d been in the room for about ten minutes, and she’d been staring at Lighthouse Tower the whole time, as if all her thoughts had been
carried away by that structure.
Louisa smiled. “Lots of people must like Lighthouse Tower, right? Does there need to be a reason?”
Lighthouse Tower was Silverlight City’s landmark–did liking it require a reason?
Julian replied, “Maybe others don’t need a reason, but you definitely have one.”
Louisa shook her head. “No reason. I just like it.”

Her tone was light, as if there truly was no reason.
Julian didn’t press further.
Louisa got straight to business. “Liking it is one thing, but I really can’t work here. I can make room for Teresa and move to her office instead.”
After all, it was just a place to work–she could work anywhere.
Julian didn’t get angry, only asking, “Why can’t you move up here?”
Louisa protested, ‘My work is in the Investment Department. Wouldn’t it be so inconvenient for me to be here?”
“Then Ms. Forbes will just have to make a few extra trips.”
His tone was casual,
Louisa glared at him. “What do you mean by a few extra trips‘? I could clearly avoid this. Why should I have to run back and forth?”
Seeing her getting upset, Julian wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her into his embrace with a smile as he kissed her lips.
Between kisses, he murmured, “Because before long, you’ll have to move here anyway. Why bother moving back and forth? Might as well do
it in one go.
Louisa didn’t understand. ‘What do you mean, I have to move up here entually anyway?”
Julian continued kissing her until she was somewhat dazed before slowly plaining, Our Ms. Forbes is so capable—are you planning to sit in
the Director’s position until retirement?

Chapter 382
Louisa was shocked. She reached up to cover his mouth, stopping him from kissing her further.
“What do you mean? Spell it out. Are you planning to promote me again?
30%
Julian seemed to hesitate before nodding. “Well, I’ll let my girlfriend in on it early then. The Tudor Group’s CFO is retiring in two months. No one’s more suitable for that position than you.”
Louisa was completely stunned, her mind going blank.
She’d worked at the Capulet Group for seven years as Finance Director and also Market Director. During that time, three CFOs had come and
gone.
When the first CFO left, she thought she’d move up. But Dominic blocked her, so she didn’t.
When the second CFO left, she’d already contributed significantly to the Capulet Group. She again thought she’d surely become CFO.
But George had acted first, putting someone else in the position without consulting her.
Later, she realized it would never happen–Dominic didn’t agree, and George wasn’t willing to give her that much power.
She’d never imagined Julian had been planning this all along.
Julian pressed his forehead to hers, occasionally pecking at her lips, his voice devastatingly seductive. “Has Ms. Forbes decided? Want to take
the CFO position for a spin?”
“Yes!”
Her answer was decisive.
Julian chuckled low in his throat. “Then go downstairs and move your things.”
Louisa fell silent.
Why did she feel like she’d been played?
Julian didn’t give her time to overthink, releasing her and handing her a document. “While you’re at it, stop by Mr. Adams’s office and deliver
this for me.”
Louisa reached to take it.
But Julian didn’t immediately let go.
Louisa eyed him suspiciously,
A moment later, she leaned in and bit his lip, not too hard, not too softly fox.”
Then she snatched the document and ran.
Julian touched his tingling lips and smiled ever so faintly.

Chapter 382
Louisa entered the elevator.
30%
It was empty.
She opened the document to sneak a peek and was surprised to find it was the approval for the re–evaluated loan for the joint project between
the Capulet Group and the Price Group.
Julian had been holding up this loan, while Percy had been working hard, occasionally crying to William about it.
Right up until today, the project had been stalled.
Why had Julian suddenly approved it?
Could he and Caden have reached some kind of understanding?
She was puzzled.
When she reached the 34th floor, she delivered the document to Percy.
Percy was in excellent spirits–he must have already been notified.
He smiled warmly at Louisa. “Thank you for delivering this, Ms. Forbes.”
“You’re too kind, Mr. Adams. I’ll let you get back to work.”
She turned to leave.
“What’s your hurry, Ms. Forbes? Percy continued smiling. “I haven’t congratulated you yet on another promotion.”
