Chapter 400
In the end, Louisa couldn’t even remember how long they’d made
love. Her consciousness was hazy.
By the latter half, when they actually washed up, she had no strength
left. Julian had to help her.
This bathroom session had drained all her energy.
Julian carried her nearly limp body back to the bedroom, to her bed.
Beneath the bathrobe, she was completely naked, her body flushed
pink.
Julian couldn’t resist–didn’t want to resist. He looked at her a few
more times.
Bold as Louisa was, being watched like this still made her shy.
She raised her hand to cover his eyes. “Stop looking.”
Julian took her hand and kissed her fingers, smiling. “Can’t help it. I
want to look.”

Louisa protested, “I’m thirsty. I want water.”
Julian placed her hand gently down, pulled the light blanket over her,
then slipped on his own robe and went to get her water.
After drinking, Louisa finally felt like she’d come back to life.
on lay down beside her, facing her.
Louisa caught sight of his sculpted abs.
No. She couldn’t keep looking.
She turned around, her back to him.
Julian was indulgent, not forcing her.
But he pressed against her from behind, her back against his chest.
He held her tightly in his arms, murmuring in her ear, “Showering
together is pretty nice. From now on, we should shower together
every day.”
Louisa stayed silent.

Had they just opened the door to a whole new world?
She simply played dead. “I’m going to sleep.”
After working overtime all evening, then making love in the bathroom
for hours… she was never showering together again.
Julian kissed her ear, his voice low and husky. “How are you tired
already?”
Louisa remained silent.
Julian continued kissing. “Don’t sleep yet. Wake up. Let’s chat a bit
more?”
Louisa still didn’t speak.
Julian stopped talking too. His lips and tongue traveled down from
her ear, kissing her neck, her shoulder…
Trailing downward, kissing and sucking along her back.
The pressure made Louisa involuntarily clutch the sheets.
The next day.

Chapter 400
Early in the morning, after attending a meeting in her department,
Louisa returned to her own company.
With nothing pressing, she didn’t go out. She stayed in her office,
working while waiting.
Just in case Teresa came looking for her and caused another scene
like yesterday.
Near lurchtime, Teresa indeed came to find her.
As a result, their colleagues found out about it anyway.
All the way down in the elevator, Teresa chatted and laughed very
amicably with her.
Louisa responded politely.
Then, under the incredulous gazes of all their colleagues, they walked
out of the company together, talking and laughing.
The scene just needed them holding hands and loudly announcing
“we’re besties” to complete the picture.
All the colleagues gathered to gossip.

“What’s going on?”
“Is this some new tactical approach?”
“Right? They’re love rivals. How could their relationship possibly be
this good?”
“I figure they must be acting. The day after tomorrow, they’re going to
Gravenford for the inspection. They definitely both want to make a
good in pression on Mr. Tudor.”
“Can Teresa really compete with Ms. Forbes? She got demoted from
director to regular employee. Sure, the chairman pulled her back up,
but it doesn’t change the fact that she was demoted.”
“Plus, Ms. Forbes is at the king–level. What she’s best at is
psychological warfare. All those old foxes in the investment department are her defeated opponents, let alone Teresa. This round,
I’m betting Ms. Forbes will win hands down.”
“But don’t forget–however incompetent Teresa may be, she’s still a
young lady of the Tudor family, the Tudor family’s default future wife
of the CEO. Who can compete with that?”
“Whether Ms. Forbes can beat her or not, I don’t know. But one
thing’s for sure–these two have officially gone to war.”

The group buzzed with speculation, all with the attitude of watching
a good show.
Louisa drove with Teresa out of the company parking lot.
Louisa asked, “Which mall would Ms. Hughes like to go to?”
Teresa named a mall.
Louisa had r
bjection.
That mall had all the luxury brands anyway. Basically, anything they
wanted would be there.
Entering the mall, Teresa suggested eating first.
Louisa didn’t object. She even offered a suggestion. “There’s a really
good Mexican restaurant in this mall. I wonder if Ms. Hughes can
handle spicy food?”
Teresa couldn’t eat spicy food, but she didn’t want to lose face in
front of Louisa either.
That one question-“can handle“-stirred Teresa’s competitive spirit.
She immediately agreed. “Sure.”

Louisa froze for a moment.
She’d just been teasing Teresa. She hadn’t expected…
Whatever.
Louisa took her to the Mexican restaurant.
Since Teresa had agreed anyway, Louisa didn’t need to hold back. She
openly ordered several dishes with off–the–charts spice levels.
As it turned out, after barely a few bites, Teresa couldn’t take it. She
kept drinking water. Her lips were swollen, her eyelids red.
Meanwhile, Louisa calmly ate from the one non–spicy dish.
Teresa looked at her in disbelief and mocked, “Can’t Ms. Forbes
handle spice?”
“That’s right, I can’t.” Louisa completely ignored her mockery and
admitted it openly, even giving Teresa a slight smile.
