After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire’s Arms.
Chapter 405
Adeline was startled by that single word and reflexively responded.
Seeing everyone looking at her, she instinctively swallowed and said to Julian, “Julian, don’t blame Teresa. She just can’t let you go. She hasn’t done anything wrong, has she? Give me some time, and I’ll talk
to her again.”
Julian replied coldly, “I already made it very clear to you before. Three chances. When they’re used up, she has to get out of Silverlight City.
You remember that, don’t you?”
“I remember.” Adeline nodded repeatedly. “I told Teresa not to bully Ms. Forbes, and she really didn’t. I heard they even went shopping and had a meal together. They got along quite well.”
Julian said, “Setting aside whether she bullied Louisa, she bullied
me.”
With that, he looked coldly at Teresa. “What you did while I was sleeping–do I need to spell it out?”
Teresa felt both wronged and humiliated, her face flushing as she
remained silent.

Julian turned back to Adeline. “What she did to me made my
girlfriend unhappy. That’s also bullying. Don’t think you can get away with it by changing tactics. Right now, Teresa has two choices–either get out of Silverlight City, or I bring Louisa home, and you help settle
her mind about us. Your choice.”
As soon as those final words left his mouth, all three people in the
living room stared at Julian in shock.
Was he absolutely determined to marry Louisa?
Adeline’s face went pale. She didn’t want to make a choice.
She didn’t want either option.
Julian raised his hand and checked his watch. “I’ll give you five minutes to think about it. If you can’t make up your mind, I’ll make
the choice for you.”
After saying this, he looked at Adeline with a cold, penetrating gaze- like an examiner holding a timer.
Being pressured by her son like this made Adeline angry, too. She snapped, “You’re forcing me! I won’t choose!”
Julian continued unhurriedly, “Mom, you have to be reasonable, don’t

you? Let me walk you through this. Previously, without my consent, you gave something that belonged to my future wife to Teresa. That day, she should have left the Tudor Group, but you insisted on
keeping her. I agreed, didn’t I?”
Adeline had no idea what game her son was playing. She nodded
dumbly. “Yes.”
Julian continued, “Out of respect for you being my mother, I said I’d give her three chances. When she’d been demoted as far as possible, she’d have to leave the company. To be fair, I was quite courteous and
respectful to you, wasn’t I?”
Adeline replied, “Yes.”
Julian pressed on, “I gave you full understanding and respect. But to be cautious, I also gave a warning–after three chances, if she continued causing trouble, I’d have to make her leave Silverlight City. You agreed at the time, so we reached an agreement, didn’t we?”
Only then did Adeline realize what was happening. Her eyes widened as she stared at Julian. “What agreement? When did I reach an
agreement with you?”
Julian said calmly, “Mom, don’t try to go back on your word. I have
proof.”

He pulled out his phone and played a recording–their conversation
in the rooftop garden that day.
Adeline was completely stunned, staring at the phone in disbelief.
He’d actually recorded it? She was his own mother!
Seeing that Adeline couldn’t hold out any longer, Teresa looked pleadingly at William. Say something!
William shook his head without hesitation.
His son was an expert at psychological warfare. The fact that he had a recording showed he’d planned every step carefully.
No wonder Julian had been so agreeable that day, agreeing in just a few words to give Teresa another chance.
So this was his trap all along.
Julian calmly closed the recording, picked up the teapot, and poured Adeline a cup of tea. He spoke slowly, “Technically, Teresa’s three chances were up long ago. She’d already been demoted to a regular employee. Then you placed her as Dad’s special assistant. I didn’t say anything then, did I? Then she followed me to a restaurant and confronted my girlfriend in front of me. Dad pleaded for her, and I gave her another chance. I didn’t just give her three chances–I gave

her two extra ones. The Tudor family has always been a place of
fairness and tolerance. I’ve already given you full tolerance and fairness. Now it’s your turn. You have three minutes left. Choose.”
Adeline couldn’t say a word.
She wouldn’t throw a tantrum, and she didn’t dare act unreasonably anymore. Otherwise, she’d lose all standing in her son’s eyes.
But being forced to this point by her own son left her feeling
suffocated, unable to catch her breath.
William felt sorry for his wife and couldn’t help but plead, “Julian, why don’t you give your mother some time? When you get back from your business trip, we can discuss this. What’s a couple of days…”
“No.” Julian’s cold response shattered their hope.
He raised his hand to check his watch again, then looked at Adeline.
“You have one minute and fifty seconds left.”
Adeline was furious and angry, yet didn’t dare lose her temper or
