In fact, it wasn’t just the turret. Outside, the vast forest, the garden, even insiue une
The stars vanished.
The moon hid behind the clouds.
It was as if the entire world had been swallowed by darkness.
In a room on the castle’s third floor, Lilith sat in a deep crimson wooden chair, eyes closed, listening to music,
When the music cut off abruptly, her eyes snapped open.
Her viper–like gaze, gloomy and venomous, fixed on the pitch–black forest outside.
A knock came at the door.
The butler’s voice followed. “Miss.”
“Come in.”
The butler opened the door and groped his way inside.
Everything was shrouded in darkness–he couldn’t see a thing.
In his panic, he collided with a vase and crashed to the floor.
He scrambled up and hurried to Lilith. “Miss, something’s happened. All the circuits inside and outside the castle are down. The power’s out, the surveillance room isn’t responding, and chaos has broken out inside the castle.”
Lilith sounded impatient. “If it’s down, it’s down. Why are you panicking? Light some candles.”
The butler said frantically, “The candles are gone too. Someone took them all.”
Lilith clearly hadn’t expected this. She paused.
Then she let out a cold laugh. “So what are you saying? We’re spending the night in the dark?”
The butler rushed to reassure her. “No, no. Don’t worry, Miss. I’ve already sent people to check the power room and the surveillance room. Also, we found a suspicious person in the wine cellar–he might be the one who hid the candles. Our people are pursuing him with full force.”
Lilith fell into thought, gazing out the window.
Moonlight gradually emerged from the clouds, illuminating her lifeless face.
She suddenly laughed–a laugh tinged with exasperation at someone’s stupidity. “Fine. Get the power restored as soon as possible. Now go.

…Yes. The butler felt helpless inside but didn’t dare say more. He left the room.
The door closed.
Then a hidden door in the room opened.
A figure stepped out and reported to Lilith. “The plan in the forest failed. Most of our people have lost contact. Only one can still be reached.”
Lilith didn’t seem surprised. She even paced leisurely behind the sofa.
There was no anger on her face–if anything, there was a girlish shyness. “He’s so clever. He drew away most of my people and left me blind as a bat. Tell me, what do you think he’ll do next?”
She laughed again. “I bet he’ll come find me and put the necklace on me himself… I’m so excited. I like him so much…”
The shadowy figure fell silent.
Was now really the time to be lovesick?
He reminded her, “Miss, now isn’t the time to reveal your identity. That man… isn’t easy to deal with.”
Lilith waved her hand dismissively.
The figure retreated.
The room fell into deathly silence once more.
So silent that she could hear the chaos and panic outside in the darkness.
Ten minutes later, a tall, striking figure strode through the cursing, panicking crowd and calmly ascended to the third floor.
Two crisp, unhurried knocks sounded at the door.
Lilith, seated primly on the sofa, smiled. “Mr. Tudor, please come in.”
The door opened.
Julian walked in.
He held a candle in his hand and lit it with a lighter.
His movements were utterly natural, without a trace of guilt.
After entering, he closed the door behind him, stepped over the shattered vase, and sat down across from Lilith.
There were no candlesticks in the room.
He tilted the candle, dripped some wax onto the table, and stuck the candle upright.
In the candlelight, his features were calm and devastatingly handsome,

Chapter 467
When he looked up at Lilith, he smiled faintly. “Lilith, you seem quite confident in me.”
Lilith smiled back, her expression laced with admiration and shyness. “I have high hopes for Mr. Tudor.”
Julian said, “I didn’t break any rules, did 17
He was referring to the darkness and chaos.
That’s right–Noah had sabotaged the castle’s circuits.
Lilith laughed. ‘It doesn’t matter. In this world, there are only winners and losers. The victors write the rules.”
Julian smiled. “The Guild’s philosophy aligns perfectly with mine.”
Lilith said, “That’s why the Guild needs someone like Mr. Tudor–someone intelligent, perceptive, and bold enough to break order and rewrite the rules.”
Julian said, “You’re too kind.”
After this mutual “admiration,” Lilith smiled. “If Mr. Tudor came here, I assume you’ve already found the necklace?”
Julian said, “Naturally.”
A flash of surprise and doubt crossed Lilith’s eyes, quickly replaced by calm composure. She extended her palm toward Julian. “Then give it to me.”
Julian said, “No rush.”
