Chapter 495
That last sentence carried a hint of pressure.

Amelia, feeling snubbed, pouted. “Fine, fine, I’ll talk, Mom’s been searching high and low for that girl in the green dress who saved her. She’s going at it like a queen with a glass slipper, hunting all over the kingdom for Cinderella. She’s totally obsessed.”
Julian’s expression didn’t change.
His mother had mentioned this back at the hospital.
He said with little interest, “From your tone, I take it she hasn’t found her yet?”
Amelia replied, “Right. She really hasn’t. But she’s found a whole bunch of fakes–all pretenders. Mom’s furious. Every time someone shows up, she compares them. She’s describing that green–dress girl like she’s some celestial goddess descended from heaven. I seriously doubt Mom even got a clear look at her face. She’s just slapping on filters because she’s the one who saved her life. Julian, you better watch out. Once that green–dress girl is found, you and your girlfriend are going to have problems. Mom might make you break up and use you to repay her savior.”
Julian sneered. “She tells me to break up, so I break up? What makes her think the green–dress girl would even be interested in me?”
The girl kindly helped her, and now his mother wanted to impose on her? How unlucky could that poor girl get?
Amelia was stunned by Julian’s response. “Julian, my dear brother, what are you saying? You have no idea how good- looking you are, do you? There isn’t a girl in the world who wouldn’t fall for you. You just have to stand there, say nothing, do nothing, and you’d have women dropping left and right.”
Julian had long been immune to such compliments. His expression remained flat. “I don’t want to charm anyone.”
“Right, right.” Amelia nodded rapidly like a pecking chicken. “You only want to charm your girlfriend.”
Julian gave her a cool glance and corrected her. “She’s the one who charmed me.”
Amelia covered her face and let out a silent scream.
She could hardly believe those words had come out of Julian’s mouth.
She grabbed his arm. “Julian, you’re head over heels in love! I’m so curious–what does she look like? I really want to meet
her.”
Thinking of Louisa, a soft smile unconsciously appeared on Julian’s face. “Just wait. It won’t be long before you meet her.”

As soon as he said that, he turned his gaze to Amelia. “You’ve been helping Mom with the search, haven’t you?”
“Yup.” Amelia answered quickly,
Catching her brother’s cool stare, she smiled ingratiatingly. “Julian, my dear brother…”
“Fence–sitter, Julian said, exasperated.
Amelia sighed helplessly. “You can’t blame me. No one else in the family is managing Mom on this. Jeffrey said to let things take their natural course and not force it, then went off to deal with his medical team. Alicia’s busy with her fashion company every day and never comes home. Jonathan doesn’t like talking anyway, and Dad forced him into the company. Everyone said they’d keep Mom company, but I’m the one shouldering it all alone. If Mom insists I help her, what am I supposed to do?”
Julian raised an eyebrow slightly. “Jonathan didn’t leave?”
From what he knew of Jonathan, he rarely came home. Even if their father called him back for something important, he’d leave again after a few days. He never stayed long.
Amelia said, “Jonathan wanted to leave, but Dad wouldn’t let him. This time, he absolutely refused to let him go. A few
days ago, I even heard them arguing. Honestly, for someone as quiet and straightforward as Jonathan to lose his temper-
that’s pretty impressive. After the fight, Dad went to coax him and ended up getting him to work at the family company.”
Julian nodded and said nothing more.
Amelia looked at him, her tone cautious and tentative. “So… should I still help look for the green–dress girl?”
After a pause, Julian said, “Keep looking. Let me know the moment you find her.”
Someone had to keep his mother entertained.
Amelia grinned. “Got it.”
Julian turned and headed upstairs.
Amelia didn’t follow.
But Julian noticed movement beside him–someone was following him upstairs. He looked down. It was Justin, who hadn’t
said a word until now.
Justin looked up and met Julian’s gaze, flashing his signature smile so wide his eyes nearly disappeared.
Julian said, “What, you have intel to trade for money too?”

Justin smiled. “Nope.”

He spread his hands innocently. “I’m so young. Even if I had money, I’d have nowhere to spend it. Don’t worry, I don’t want
money.
Julian’s smile was cold. “Then why are you following me?”
Justin’s smile grew even brighter. “Julian, is my future sister–in–law’s last name Forbes?”
Julian paused slightly and stopped to look at him. “What do you know?”
Justin said, ‘I didn’t really hear much, but I saw Mom and Dad avoiding us and discussing something privately. And every time Mom voiced her opinion, Dad looked really troubled. I’m guessing Mom wants to drive away my future sister–in–law and replace her with the green–dress girl.”
Julian’s gaze turned icy. He ruffled Justin’s hair. “Go play.”
Since his mother was napping, Julian didn’t go to disturb her. He went back to his room and took a quick shower.
When he came back downstairs after his shower, Jeffrey and Jonathan were already home.
Jonathan looked tired, sitting on the sofa dozing off.
No wonder he really didn’t like working at the company. Those tasks didn’t interest him in the slightest.
Jeffrey, meanwhile, sat nearby reading a medical textbook.
No matter what his siblings said around him, he tuned them all out, focused solely on his book.
When Julian entered the living room, both Jonathan and Jeffrey perked up in unison. They set down their books and
greeted Julian.
Before long, Alicia came home too.
Alicia and Amelia were twins, identical in appearance, born only minutes apart–Amelia first, ranked fifth, and Alicia
second,
anked sixth.
But their styles were completely different.
