Julian said, “Open the windows. Air it out.”

Everyone fell silent.

Though Layla’s perfume had been rather strong, she was still the daughter of a jewelry magnate and wore designer fragrances. It wasn’t

Theo acknowledged the order and quickly instructed the staff to open the windows.

Adeline was momentarily speechless.

Amelia covered her mouth, stifling a laugh.

Alicia, curious, asked, “So, Mom, what did the green–dress girl actually say to you at the end?”

Justin chimed in, “Yeah, Mom, what did she say?”

William was also curious. “From what I could tell, Ms. Scott’s answer didn’t seem all that wrong. Was it really that different?”

Adeline glanced at them, took a bite of a pastry, and said slowly, “You’d never guess what that girl said to me.”

Her air of mystery piqued the curiosity of all seven family members.

Even the servants nearby perked up their ears.

William was dying to know. “Come on, honey, don’t keep us in suspense. What did she say?”

Adeline smiled slowly. “She said, ‘Enough talk. Just go.”

Amelia, who’d been drinking water, nearly spat it out.

Everyone else exchanged bewildered glances.

Who could have guessed such a blunt answer?

No imposter would ever dare think in that direction.

Adeline recalled the moment. “The situation really was urgent. Another lady, the green–dress girl, and I–four of us in total–hid in a

room. The green–dress girl stayed calm and directed her friends to find an escape route. You could tell they had great chemistry, and they

really listened to her. She was so composed under pressure, bold and commanding. When we had a chance to escape, she let me and the

other lady go first. As I was leaving, I asked her name so I could repay her later. She told me to stop talking and just go. Looking back

now, she did a good deed and wanted nothing in return. What a wonderful girl.”

William nodded repeatedly. “She really does sound exceptional. She didn’t know your identity, and in such a critical moment, instead of

escaping herself, she respect to her elders. That’s a rare quality.”

Alicia added, “And she’s a great beauty too.”

Justin exclaimed in awe, “She sounds like an angel.”

Amelia snuck a glance at Julian. “Julian, are you interested?”

Julian glanced at their excited faces, his tone cool and natural. “I already gave my heart to my girlfriend. I can’t give it to anyone else.”

Everyone’s eyes widened in shock.

Even Jonathan and Jeffrey, who usually ignored anything that didn’t concern them, couldn’t help but look at Julian.

Adeline’s throat tightened. She glared at her son, fuming.

Julian met her stare unflinchingly.

Julian had a terrible premonition. His eyes turned ice–cold. “Mom, what did you do?”

Adeline was startled by his gaze and couldn’t speak.

No one else in the dining room dared to say a word either. All eyes were fixed on Julian’s face, terrified he might explode.

Suddenly, his phone rang.

It was Teddy.

Julian shot his mother a chilling glare, then walked out while answering the call. “What is it?”

Teddy’s voice was anxious. “Mr. Tudor, a transfer request just came through from below…”

As he spoke, Teddy’s voice trembled. He couldn’t get the name out.

Julian’s voice dropped sharply. “What transfer request? Whose transfer request?”

Though in that moment, he already knew the answer.

Teddy said, “Louisa. Her transfer request to the northwest region.”

“What?” Julian’s pupils dilated.
