Chapter 499
The Tudor Group was thirty miles closer to the airport than Tudor Manor.
Julian sped the entire way and managed to arrive at the exact same time as Teddy.
Julian held a lifetime platinum honors card with the airline, which allowed him to bypass security and go directly to the boarding gate to find someone.
But Julian suspected that by the time they reached the gate, boarding would already be closed.
As he walked, he instructed Teddy, “Notify the terminal. Tell them to delay the flight.”
Julian had the clout to make it happen.
He rarely used his influence to inconvenience others over personal matters. This was a first.
Teddy immediately made the arrangements and also obtained the passenger manifest.
Just as Julian reached the gate and was about to go in and find her, Teddy suddenly said, “Mr. Tudor, Louisa didn’t board.”
Julian stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Teddy.
Teddy immediately held up his phone.
Julian’s eyes found Louisa’s name on the list in an instant.
But next to Louisa’s name, it read: [Unused]
Which meant Louisa had indeed booked this flight, but she hadn’t boarded.
Julian knew Louisa’s character well. If she’d decided to leave and arranged everything, she wouldn’t normally cancel unless something had happened.
Had there been some kind of accident?
Worry filled him. He immediately called Louisa.
Line busy.
Julian frowned sharply.
Though he wasn’t sure what had happened on Louisa’s end, the fact that her line was busy reassured him that she truly hadn’t boarded.

He instructed Teddy to release the flight and headed back out of the airport.
As he walked, he prepared to call Sadie and Flora to ask.
In Louisa’s heart, aside from her father, these friends mattered most to her.
But before he could dial, Wallace’s call suddenly came through.
Julian paused, then answered. “Make it quick. What’s wrong?”
((
Wallace’s tone was urgent. “Flora’s been locked up by the Young family. It’s not appropriate for me to go directly. Do you have time to
come with me to the Young Villa?”
Julian fell silent.
He knew where Louisa had gone.
Louisa sat in a taxi, on the phone with Sadie the entire ride without hanging up.
Sadie was already waiting outside the Young Villa gates. She couldn’t get in.
When Louisa arrived, she got out of the taxi still dragging her suitcase.
Sadie stared at her in disbelief. “Why are you still carrying your suitcase? What are you planning to do?”

Louisa said, “No time to explain. Put the suitcase in your car first. I’m going to talk to the security guards. Also, get the things I asked you
to bring.”
As she spoke, she headed toward the security office at the Young Villa entrance.
Though Sadie didn’t know what Louisa was planning, she obediently brought along the laptop bag and briefcase.
Sadie couldn’t get into the Young Villa–and of course, neither could Louisa.
Louisa dropped Julian’s name.
The security staff hesitated.
Louisa said calmly, “If you don’t believe me, you can call Mr. Young. Tell him Louisa Forbes, Director of Investments at the Tudor Group,
is here to see him. Ask him if he’ll meet with me.”
The security guard hesitated, then made the call.
He’d barely finished stating Louisa’s name when, in less than two seconds, he hung up.

He opened the gate and gestured respectfully to Louisa. “Ms. Forbes, please. Go in, turn left, then right. When you see the main building.
just keep going straight.”
Louisa thanked him.
Sadie immediately followed, thoroughly impressed. “How is your name so powerful? Look at how respectfully they’re treating you-
completely different from how they treated me.”
As Louisa walked, she explained, “It’s not my name that’s powerful. It’s Julian’s. I’ve known for a while that the Young Group is in trouble. Isaac’s been trying every way he can to get in touch with Julian, and Julian’s turned him down every time. Now that the Director of Investments from the Tudor Group is requesting a meeting, of course he won’t turn me away.”
Sadie understood now.
Louisa glanced at her. “Do you know why Flora’s being held by her father?”
Sadie said, “Remember a few days ago when Flora got into a fight with Della at the studio?”
Louisa said, “Of course I remember. I knew then that you weren’t telling me the whole truth. What really happened?”
Sadie said, “The Young Group ran into financial trouble. Isaac wanted Julian to provide financing, but Julian refused, right? Isaac knows about your relationship with Julian, and he knows about Flora’s relationship with both of you. So he told Flora to ask you or Julian for help. Flora refused. She knew Julian said no for a reason. She didn’t want to make things difficult for Julian–or for you–so she kept refusing. The Young family thinks she’s cold and heartless. Lately, I guess the Youngs have completely run out of options and been pushed to the edge. That’s probably why Della went to confront Flora. Flora didn’t tell you the truth because she didn’t want to put you in a
difficult position.”
Louisa sighed. “She was overthinking it.”
Sadie looked at her strangely. “What do you mean? This wouldn’t have been difficult for you?”
Louisa said, ‘Besides asking Julian for financing, there are plenty of other options. If she thinks this is difficult, you’re all seriously
