After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire’s Arms
Chapter 556
Louisa had been prepared to nod and smile, but seeing his reaction, she pretended not to notice him and looked away.
She treated others exactly as they treated her.
That was her consistent approach.
William said to Amelia, Amelia, go check on your mother.”
“Okay.” Amelia immediately left.
Louisa felt like she was sitting on pins and needles.
But she had no choice but to endure.
She turned to look at Julian, her expression calm on the surface, even smiling, but her eyes blazing with murderous intent: Bastard a
you wait!
Julian smiled and took her hand under the table.
Louisa pinched hard at the webbing between his thumb and forefinger.
This bastard–hadn’t he said he’d let her think it over?
Instead he’d dragged her straight onto the battlefield…
Julian’s gaze tried to soothe her. Even though the pinch hurt, he didn’t let go.
As they communicated with their eyes, William and his children quietly observed.
Was this really their cold, detached Julian who scoffed at romance and constantly lectured them not to get caught up in relationships?
Now he was so willing to humor a woman. He must really care about her, really like her.
William smiled warmly. “Louisa, sending you to the Northwest and causing you to leave the company was my fault, I apologize.”
Louisa was momentarily stunned.
She truly hadn’t expected William to take responsibility himsell, shielding his wife and actively apologizing to bet
She smiled faintly. “Mr. William Tudor, you’re being too kind. I requested the Northwest assignment myself. It had nothing to do with anyone else.”

Her words carried two meanings.
First, she knew it was Adeline who d arranged for her to leave the Tudor Group.
Saying “anyone else‘ made clear she knew who was behind it.
Second, it also stated her position on the matter.
With that topic closed, William continued, “Then I’d like to re–hire you as CFO of the Tudor Group. What do you think?”
“CFO?” Louisa was shocked.
Not just Louisa–the other Tudor siblings were stunned too.
Only Julian looked unsurprised.
Of course–William wouldn’t make personnel changes at the Tudor Group without consulting Julian first.
Julian squeezed her hand and smiled. “I know you’ve received plenty of offers lately. Say whatever’s on your mind.”
Louisa snapped back to reality.
CFO of the Tudor Group–this was something she’d never dared dream of in the past. In this position, she’d be free of past constraints and could fully exercise her ideas and talents.
An excellent opportunity to realize her abilities.
But she’d already founded her own company. Her own business had to come first.
She’d have to refuse.
She was about to speak.
William smiled again. “Double the salary.
Effortlessly blocking what she was about to say.
Louisa looked at Julian: She didn’t even know what the Tudor Group CFO’s salary was.
Julian said, “The previous CFO’s annual salary was eighty million dollars, not including project bonuses and dividends.”
Louisa was shocked again.

She looked at Julian in disbelief.
Julian calmly sipped his tea. “Yes. Two hundred million minimum
Louisa’s previously calm heart suddenly grew excited.
Two hundred million–how much money was that?
Before, when she’d worked herself to death at the Capulet Group, George had only given her after much talk an annual salary of ten million in the later years, then stripped away her actual authority entirally.
Now the Tudor Group CFO position offered two hundred million annually. That was a guaranteed return.
Before her eyes appeared a golden mountain, gleaming brightly….
Julian reminded her at just the right moment, “But if you accept, you won’t have time to manage your own company.”
Louisa went silent.
Great. That bucket of cold water just washed away her golden mountain.
Julian added, “If you don’t agree, we won’t be able to commute to work together.”
As he said this, he looked at her with deep affection.
The siblings across the table watched, dumbfounded: Julian, can you dial back that pathetic look?
Louisa had no mind to judge whether Julian’s expression was pathetic or not. She even made a stopping gesture at him. ‘Don I talk. Let
me think.”
Forget commuting together–men only slowed down her money–making speed.
She needed to think about other things…
Julian smiled at her. “Having trouble deciding?”
Louisa gave him a look: Isn’t that obvious?
Her own business versus two hundred million annually–who wouldn’t struggle with that choice?

Though she believed that given a few years, her company reaching a hundred–million–dollar valuation wasn’t impossible…
Maybe she shouldn’t be tempted by immediate gains?
She needed to prepare for longer–term plans.
Forget it.
She gritted her teeth and steeled herself, about to refuse the gold beckoning to her.
Julian laughed helplessly. “You’re only considering two options? Haven’t you thought there might be a third path?”
Louisa looked puzzled. “A third path?”
