Chapter 700 Jasper Catches Her Mid–air Fall
“Tatiana!”
Jasper screamed and shoved past the guards. He ran forward–but the helicopter was rising. The distance grew.
Liam leaned down and whispered something in Tatiana’s ear. Then he looked at Jasper, his eyes full of cruel amusement.
“Jasper. Watch closely.”
He loosened his hold on Tatiana–just one arm around her now, the other gripping the ladder tightly.
She dangled in midair.
“Tatiana,” Liam’s voice was clear, cutting through the noise, “last choice. Come with me–to a place he can’t find you. Or stay–and bet on your Jasper.”
Tatiana looked down past the dizzying height, her gaze meeting Jasper’s desperate one.
His face was full of fear and panic–all his usual composure gone.
“I won’t go with you.”
Her voice was scattered by the wind–but it carried weight.
Liam smiled. No warmth–only the look of a gambley.
“Fine. Then let’s play round two–let’s see if he can catch you.”
The second the words left his mouth, as Jasper let out a horrified roar, as the helicopter’s engine screamed even louder–Liam let go.
Not a push. Just a clean release.
Tatiana dropped like a puppet cut from its strings, falling from nearly ten meters up while the helicopter was still moving.
The ground rushed up at her. The wind screamed in her ears.
“Tatiana-!”
Time stretched and shattered.
Jasper’s mind went blank. But his body moved faster than thought.
He sprinted toward where she would land–like a beast going after its prey.
It was instinct. Pure reflex.
The helicopter was still moving. The landing point kept shifting.
All he could see was that falling figure. Every step landed on the beat of his heart.
Three meters. Two meters. One meter–now!
He launched himself forward, diving with everything he had, twisting his body to use himself as a cushion between Tatiana and the cold, hard ground.
Thud!
A heavy impact. The distinct crack of breaking bones–the sound was sickening.
Jasper caught her.

“It’s… okay now…”
Tatiana’s tears finally broke free. She couldn’t touch him–she could only scream, “Jasper! You’re the biggest, dumbest idiot in the whole world!”
The pain hit him in waves. His vision began to blur. But he was still smiling, “Yeah… I am…”
