Alpha Nicholas novel Chapter 46

One thing that I’m thankful for is that when Nick took over as Alpha he made some changes around the pack house and lands including the cells. Whereas before we would have to sit out in the cell area and have to deal with them constantly trying to talk us into letting them go or having She-wolves thinking they could try and seduce their way out of there, now we have cameras in every cell and the hallway which we monitor from the guard room.

The door to the guard room opening brings me back to the present and I can’t help but smile when Omega Suzzy comes walking into the room with her arms full of goodies for us. I go to stand up to help her when the most incredible smell hits all of my senses and stirs my wolf Theo from his nap. “What’s that smell?” I practically growl out the words as my wolf tries to take over control but I manage to hold him back. I look at Suzzy and she gasps as the biggest smile appears on her face. “Oh, my goddess!” She cries excitement pouring out of her while I just stand there confused as fuck.

“MATE!” Theo suddenly growls all while frightening the shit out of me. Wait… what did he just say? “Suzzy, who else is with you?” She keeps smiling but I don’t miss the look of panic in her eyes like she just remembered something or more like someone. “She’s out there but he won’t leave her alone… I was coming in to get one of you but then you… Oh, my goddess, I can’t believe this!”

I don’t wait to hear anymore instead I head straight for the door with Ryan and Cole right behind me. We quickly round the corner and reach the cells and then I stop in my tracks when I see her and I swear my fucking heart stops beating for a second. She’s my mate? How is this possible? How didn’t I know before today?”

“We are her second chance mate. She had to meet that asshole first.” Theo sounds happy but more than anything relieved.

“Did you know?” Is this the reason for his behavior lately?

“I suspected that we were going to meet out mate but I didn’t know it was her, I didn’t know anything for definite so I didn’t say anything in case I was wrong.”

“It’s ok, Theo. You didn’t know. All that matters is that we know now. We’ve found our mate, Theo and we ain’t letting her go!”

Anger instantly burns my veins as I feel my mate, my Sophie tense up once more and go to step away from me but I’m not having any of that so I hock my arm around her stomach and hold her firmly to my body. “I’m going to enjoy ending you. I can’t wait-” My words are interrupted by the sound of the door at the cell entrance opening and then loud protests start to bounce off the walls just seconds before Robbie, Shane, and several warriors come stomping down the stairs with Bonny’s father and sister and I feel relief that they have been caught.

As Shane approaches us he stops and takes in his surroundings as Robbie and Joe get our new prisoners comfy. “What’s going on? I have a feeling that I have missed something.” He looks at me and I know I’m sporting a shit-eating grin but I can’t stop myself because despite the current situation we currently find ourselves in I couldn’t be happier right now. He gives me a questioning look before looking down and noticing my arm that is still wrapped around Sophie’s stomach.

“I’m ok, Beta Shane.” She gives him a slight nod as she tries to sound calm but I don’t miss the slight wobble in her voice or how her body stiffens up once more just before the door to the cells starts making its usual joyful noise just seconds before Nick, Bonnie, Lily, Tony, and Alpha Harold appear as they make their way down the steps and head straight for us.
