I feel nervous as watch the SUVs make their way through the pack grounds and towards the pack house. I don’t know all the details but from what Nick’s dad has told me things at that place were bad and while it was bad enough that they didn’t find Tony’s boys what they did find was even worse.

All those poor children and women, where they found them… what they’ve been through. Goddess it just doesn’t bear thinking about. I know there’s still much more for me to find out and I will, but for now, my first focus is to give those women and children whatever help they need.

Of course, finding out that they couldn’t find the boys was devastating and unfortunately, Rosie overheard Nick’s dad and me talking and she understandably broke down and has been inconsolable since, and I’m just hoping that Tony can help her because if he can’t I’m not sure if anyone can. I’m just praying that the mate bond will be strong enough to pull her through this.

The ground rumbles beneath us as the SUVs come to a stop and everyone starts getting out. My breath catches in my throat when I see Nick get out. I was terrified when he left but I refused to let myself think about it. Just thinking about the possibility of him getting hurt or worse, not returning to me made me feel like my heart was being torn out so seeing him here in front of me without a scratch had my eyes filling up with tears. Goddess this man has become so important to me so quickly that it feels like it’s hard to breathe

The moment that both of his feet hit the ground his eyes scan his surroundings until they stop on me and I swear the intense look on his face is enough to make my heart pound. He heads my way his eyes never once leaving mine and the moment he reaches me I’m instantly pulled into his arms and my whole body sags with instant relief.He pulls back a little before placing a gentle kiss on my forehead thea placing his forehead on my own while he looks down at me. “Are you ok, darling?” | have so many responses to that one simple question but I don’t even know where to start so I just nod. He gives me a knowing look before placing the sweetest kiss on my lips and I feel his own body somewhat relax. “I know, baby. I know. There are a few things that need my immediate attention but I promise that we will talk soon ok?”

I nod but before I can say another word arms wrap around Nick’s waist just before Lotties tear-filled face comes into view. They share a hug and some words before she comes to stand beside me and makes my heart melt when she holds onto my hand. I’m not sure if it’s to comfort me or her but either way, I love that she feels ok to do this with me.

“Where is she?” Tony sounds defeated as he comes to stand next to us and the look of utter devastation on his face makes me want to cry for him. “I’m here.” I thought Tony sounded defeated but Rosie sounds completely broken. He turns in time to see her practically fall through the doorway and stagger towards him. He grips her arm and gently pulls her into his body as the most heartbreaking cry that I have ever heard tears from her mouth.

Her crying gets louder and harder as Tony continues to hold her tight and pretty much keeps her body from falling to the floor all while he whispers into her ear. I can’t hear what he’s saying to her but I can imagine what his words are. “Tony, you go ahead and take your mate to your room. We have enough men to cover you. Your mate needs your full attention right now. Once you both have had the time that you need, please come find me and we will talk things through.”

“Thank you, Alpha. I appreciate this.” Tony says as he pulls Rosie even closer to his body. “Alpha, Nick. Thank you for what you did today.

I take a moment to look around and spot Lottie standing with Nick’s mom, Lily, Sophie and a few other she-wolves and head straight for them only as I am about to reach them Nick’s mom takes my hand and pulls me to the side and I find my self suddenly crazy nervous. Is she mad at me? “Nick told me that he has tasked you with organising thesleeping arrangements.” It’s not a question but a statement and yett still find myself nodding in answer while nerves continue to invade my body.

“Don’t look so worried, sweetheart.” She gives me the sweetest smile which helps relax me somewhat. “Listen to me, sweet girl. I think it is a brilliant idea. You will soon be Luna to this pack and by doing this before you even have the title will just show the pack members exactly what you are capable of and how much you will care for them all. I believe that you are worried about how I feel about this but honestly think that he made the best decision.

I have been Luna for a long time and if truth be told I love every single member of this pack, and I have loved my time as Luna but I will be happy to hand the reins to you, darling girl. I will be happy to enjoy some free time with my mate.” Her words hit deep and I can see that she means them which has me completely relaxed but the moment that I stop worrying about what she thinks I instantly start to panic when I realize that I have no idea what I’m doing here but once again this woman is goddess sent and knows how I feel before I’ve even say a word.

“Don’t worry, I’m not going to just abandon you. I will be here for any help that you need. From here on out I will help you learn all you need to and even after you are officially crowned Luna of the pack you can always come to me for advice. While being Luna is the hardest job, it is always so so rewarding. So, with that said l am going to let you lead the way with this task but I’m here for anything you need and Bonnie, darling I want you to remember one thing. There is no such thing as a stupid question.”

I take several deep breaths and finally feel so much better after our conversation and also slightly more confident, I’ve got this. I can do this!
