Alpha's Abandoned Daughter is the Secret Heiress novel Chapter 171

Chapter 171: Jaxon’s Wrath

(Adrian’s POV)

It was ten o’clock at night when Livia returned to the West House. She wasn’t alone. Two figures followed her, draped in heavy dark cloaks that obscured their faces.

They are here,Livia said, closing the door behind them.

She gestured to the figure on the left. This is the apothecary. He specializes in compounds that leave no trace. Then she pointed to the woman on the right. And a rogue witch from the black market.

I looked at them, satisfyingly grim. Good. We need every advantage for tomorrow.

I walked over to the liquor cabinet and poured myself a drink. I made another move, Livia. Just to be absolutely sure.

Livia raised an eyebrow. What did you do?

I sent Harvey,” I said, taking a sip of the red wine. He has taken Seraphina.

Livia’s eyes widened for a fraction of a second, and then a cruel, delighted smile spread across her face. That is brilliant, Adrian.

It is the ultimate leverage,I told her. Amelia cares about nothing but that adoptive mother of hers. If she refuses to hand over the company, we hurt Seraphina.

Livia let out a cold laugh. “If that entitled brat thinks she can run wild on my territory, she is wrong. She holds onto Stone Pharmaceutical like a child with a toy. We will break her fingers until she lets go.

She turned to the witch. “Even if the patriarch, Alaric, hasn’t actually been cursed, we are prepared. I have arranged everything with her. Amelia will not survive the confrontation tomorrow. She will be ruined.

I nodded, my expression serious. “This is life or death for our line in the Stone River Pack. There is no room for error. If we fail, we lose everything.”

(Adrian’s POV)

I turned to my eldest son, Ethan, who was standing nervously by the staircase.

Tomorrow morning, go to the hospital first thing,I ordered, Pick up Caleb. And call Celine. Tell her to come home immediately. Everyone must be accounted for.

Yes, father,Ethan said quickly.

Livia pulled out her phone, her fingers tapping rapidly on the screen. I’m calling Lyra and Carlos Drake. Amelia humiliated the Drake family yesterday in the hospital. They will want to witness her fall. They will want to see her stripped of her name and kicked out of the family.

Do it,I said.

I took out my own phone. I needed confirmation. I dialed Harvey’s number.

The phone rang twice before he picked up.

Alpha Adrian?Harvey’s voice came through the speaker. He sounded breathless, panic edging his tone.

Is it done?I asked.

Yesyes, I have her,Harvey stammered.

I pressed the phone closer to my ear. In the background, I could hear shuffling noises and what sounded like a muffled struggle. It was music to my ears.

Good,I said, my voice dropping to a cold command. I want proof. Cut off the ring finger on her right handthe one with the mating ring. Bring it to me tomorrow morning.

There was a pause on the other end. I heard Harvey’s breath hitch.

Did you hear me?I snapped. Do this, and you are back in the Pack House. I will double your previous salary.

II understand,Harvey said, his voice trembling. He sounded terrified.

I scoffed internally. He was soft. It was his first time doing real dirty work. But greed would drive him.

Don’t disappoint me,I said, and hung up the phone.

I looked at Livia and smiled. We had won.

In a desolate industrial lot miles away from the Pack House, Harvey Wright was not holding a

knife. He was on his knees on the cracked concrete, shaking violently.

Sloane stood over him, a dark silhouette against the dim streetlights. She held Harvey’s phone in her gloved hand, having just ended the call.

A few yards away, a black sedan sat with its engine idling silently. Jaxon and Seraphina were in the back seat. The air inside the car was thick, heavy with Jaxon’s suppressed rage.

Sloane walked over and tapped on the rear window. She looked at Seraphina.

Mrs. Stone,Sloane said, her voice devoid of emotion. You might want to look away for this part.

Seraphina didn’t turn her head. She sat up straighter, her face pale but her expression composed of pure steel. She pressed the button, and the window rolled down with a soft hum.

She stared directly at Harvey, who was weeping silently on the ground.

No,” Seraphina hardened her gaze. Let him see me watch. I want him to know exactly why he’s bleeding.

Sloane looked at her for a moment, then a small smirk touched the corner of her lips.

Understood.”

She turned back to the kneeling man. A silver dagger flipped into her hand, glinting coldly in the moonlight.

Since Adrian wants a finger,Sloane said flatly, stepping closer to Harvey, yours will have to

do.

No! Please! I was just following orders!Harvey screamed, trying to scramble backward.

Sloane moved without a moment’s hesitation. She stepped on his chest to pin him down, grabbed his right hand, and brought the silver blade down in a blur of motion.

*Crunch.*

Harvey let out a bloodcurdling shriek that echoed off the empty warehouse walls. His eyes rolled back in his head, and he slumped forward, fainting from the shock and pain.

Seraphina gripped her seatbelt tightly. She watched the blood pool on the ground. She didn’t look away. She watched the man who had threatened her collapse. A look of dark satisfaction crossed her eyes.

Sloane didn’t blink. She calmly wrapped the severed finger in a piece of cloth. Then, she

grabbed the unconscious Harvey by the collar and dragged him toward the trunk of her car like a bag of trash.

(Author’s POV)

The wind outside carried the metallic scent of blood, Jaxon stepped out of the car as Sloane. slammed the trunk shut. He immediately pulled his mate into his arms.

His body was vibrating with tension. His eyes were dark, swirling with a storm of emotions.

Adrian. His own brother.

Jaxon had tolerated Adrian’s arrogance for years. He had looked past the greed. But this? *********g Seraphina? Ordering her mutilation?

Adrian had severed the last of their brotherly bond.

Jaxon’s wolf roared in his mind, clawing at his chest, demanding blood. He forced the shift down, his jaw clenched so hard his teeth ached. He needed to be clearheaded for what

came next.

Seraphina,” Jaxon said, his voice rough as he tried to soothe her. Go with Sloane. She will take you to the safe house. You need to rest.

Seraphina didn’t let go. She reached up and grabbed his collar, her fingers digging into the fabric. Her knuckles were white.

She looked up at him. The fear was gone. In its place was a burning, cold anger that matched

his own.

Don’t just handle it, Jaxon, she said, her voice trembling with rage. Make them regret they ever touched me. Burn it all down if you have to.

Jaxon looked into her eyes. He saw the fire there. He let out a low growl from deep in his

chest.

He kissed her forehead.

I promise.

(Author’s POV)

It was approaching midnight at the West House. The lights were still on.

The doorbell rang. It was a long, jarring sound that cut through the silence of the night.

Ethan was in the living room, still awake. He walked to the security monitor and checked the

camera feed.

It’s Uncle Jaxon,Ethan called out, glancing toward the stairs. A knot of unease tightened in

his stomach.

Adrian and Livia came down the stairs. They looked annoyed rather than worried.

What does he want at this hour?Livia spat

Adrian glanced at the screen, seeing Jaxon standing alone at the gate. He sneered.

Ignore him,” Adrian said dismissively, Let him stay out there like a stray dog. He probably realized his mate is missing and came to beg. Or maybe he wants to negotiate.”

He looked at Ethan, who was staring at the screen with apprehension.

Why aren’t you asleep?Adrian scolded. Go upstairs. Get some rest. We have a show to put

on tomorrow.

Ethan hesitated. But father, he looks

*BOOM.*

A massive crash shook the entire villa. The sound of tearing metal screamed through the air.

Ethan spun around in terror.

The heavy iron gates of the driveway were gone. They lay twisted on the pavement. Dust billowed into the air.

Through the cloud of debris, a dozen elite warriors in black tactical gear stepped forward. They held heavy hydraulic breaching tools.

Jaxon walked through the broken gateway. He didn’t look like an uncle. He didn’t look like a brother.

His face was a mask of cold fury. His Alpha aura rolled off him in suffocating waves, darker and heavier than anything Ethan had ever felt.

Jaxon marched toward the front door like a Demon straight from hell.
