Livia’s face was purple with rage. Her finger nearly poked my eye as she screeched.

“You are lying! You poisoned Ethan! I know you did!”

“Please, Livia. Do you really think I am that sloppy?” I looked at her with pure mockery, letting my disdain for their collective intelligence show. “If I wanted him dead, we would be planning a funeral right now. We wouldn’t be standing here talking.”

Elder Alaric’s face was dark. He opened his mouth to speak, but I cut him off with a challenging smirk.

“Go ahead,” I said, scanning the room. “Call the Pack healer. Let’s verify your delusion in front of everyone.”

Alaric nodded immediately. He ordered the butler to fetch the healer.

Hearing this, Ethan’s face turned the color of old milk. He started to stammer, sweat beading on his upper lip.

“It… it’s a strange poison,” Ethan argued weakly, his eyes darting around. “A normal healer

won’t find it.”

Alaric’s expression turned even icier. He snorted.

“If a healer can’t find it, then it doesn’t exist,” Alaric declared.

Natasha Crimson let out a loud snort from the side.

“Pathetic,” she muttered. “Just another lie from the Stone family to escape justice.”

Ethan looked desperate. He opened his mouth to argue that the poison would activate eventually. But then he looked up and crashed right into my gaze. I smirked, my eyes daring him to keep talking.

“Why did you stop?” Alaric demanded. “Speak!”

Ethan wiped cold sweat from his forehead. He looked pained, but he couldn’t squeeze out a single word.

Alaric lost his patience. He slammed his heavy cane against the floor. *Thud!* The sound echoed through the silent room.

“Enough!” Alaric roared, his anger boiling over. “No excuse justifies kidnapping Seraphina to threaten Amelia. You have disgraced this family!”

Livia saw the tide turning against them. She stepped forward quickly, trying to soften the

blow.

“Father, please,” she said, attempting to sound reasonable. “Regardless of the process, Seraphina is unharmed. There is no need to make this a bigger deal than it is…”

“Unharmed?”

Amelia interrupted sharply. She stepped into Livia’s personal space, forcing the older woman

back.

“You kidnapped my mother. You put a knife to her throat. She is ‘unharmed‘ because I won,” Amelia hissed, her voice dangerous. “Do not mistake my success for your mercy.”

Livia stumbled back, intimidated by the sheer force of Amelia’s aura.

Matriarch Helena Grey stepped up immediately. She stood like a steel wall beside Amelia.

“Amelia is right,” Helena said coldly. “The Stone family kidnapped my daughter. This does not end with an apology. If we do not get a satisfactory answer today, the Grey family will rain fire down upon you. We will make you pay whatever the cost.”

Adrian stood there, pale as a ghost. He didn’t speak.

Lady Helena Grey tapped her foot impatiently.

“Save the lecture, Alaric,” she snapped. “Give us a solution. Now.”

Alaric took a deep breath. He turned to Seraphina.

“You are the victim,” Alaric said quietly. “You decide his punishment.”

“I have two conditions,” she stated clearly.

“First,” Seraphina said. “Adrian must cut off his own finger. He ordered a man to take mine. He threatened to mail it to my daughter. An eye for an eye.”

Adrian flinched violently.

“Second,” Seraphina continued. “Adrian must transfer all shares of Stone Enterprises to Amelia. He must compensate her for every year of neglect and harm.”

The demands hit the room like a thunderclap. They struck Adrian’s weak point with precision.
