Chapter 18: Destroying Your Son’s Business
Chapter 18: Destroying Your Sorts Business
(Amelia’s POV)
I set down the bank card and examined Livia through half–closed eyes. “You’re both p
shameless.”
Livia’s jaw dropped in shock. “What? You’re turning down ten million?” she shrieked, pointing a me accusingly. “Do you have any idea how much herb–selling it would take you to earn that and of
money?”
I let out a cold laugh and threw the bank card directly at her face. “Is something wrong with you brain? You think ten million in enough to make me forgive you?”
Livia stumbled backward, nearly falling over from my rude gesture. After regaining her balance, she glared at me furiously.
“How dare you treat your birth mother this way!” she snarled.
I jumped down from my hammock and picked up the banana leaf, fanning it in her face repeatedly before finally throwing it at her.
rl feed!
“If you come back here again with more nonsense, next time bird droppings I
threatened.
Livia stood there, visibly shaken. She stomped on the banana leaf several times, trying to compose
herself.
“There should be limits to your tantrum,” she said, attempting to sound reasonable. “Refusing ten million is just being greedy.”
“I couldn’t care less about your ten million,” I replied coldly. “Even if you gave me all of Stone River Pack’s assets, I still wouldn’t forgive you.”
I laughed bitterly. “Don’t pretend. I know you’ve known I was your daughter for a long time.” Livia’s eyes widened in surprise. “What? No, we only found out a month ago! Where did you hear such rumors?”
I fixed her with an icy stare. “You know in your heart whether it’s just a rumor. Since you abandoned me because you found me lacking, since you were heartless toward me first, don’t blame me for being ruthless in return.”
Livia trembled with rage at my words. “Have you spent too much time with those rogue wolves?
Chapter 18 Destroying Your Son’s Busness
You’ve become wild and rebellious!”
Her eyes narrowed dangerously. “Rather than waiting for you to rebel, I should teach you a lesson
now.”
She grabbed a wooden stick from the flower bed that had been supporting a plant trellis and advanced toward me.
I intercepted the stick with my bare hand, snapping it with one squeeze and deliberately crushing one piece into powder.
“Let me make this clear,” I said, dropping the remaining splinters. “I didn’t come back to accept you as family. I came back to make your lives miserable.”
I smiled coldly. “Originally, I planned to take over all of Stone River Pack’s assets, but I’ve realized the pack members are actually quite nice. So I’ve decided just ruining your family will be enough.”
Livia’s face paled as I continued. “Ethan manages Starlight Entertainment in the human world, right? I hear they’ve recently signed some promising talents bringing in profits, but they still can’t compete with the established entertainment companies in Northgate City.”
I tapped my chin thoughtfully. “As for Caleb, making music at home, with his recent hit song spreading throughout the supernatural world… I wonder what would happen if some scandal came to light? Could he ever recover?”
Livia’s finger trembled as she pointed at me. “What exactly are you planning to do?”
“I’m just going to destroy your sons‘ careers,” I replied casually. “Why is that so hard for you to accept? Yet when Celine stole twenty years of the life that should have been mine, you think! should just forgive and forget?”
Livia paused, clearly taken aback by my question. “I’ve raised Celine for twenty years,” she explained. “Even if she’s not my biological’daughter, I’d have feelings for her even if she were just a dog, let alone a living, breathing person. Besides, I raised her to be beautiful, excellent, considerate, and well–mannered. She brings me joy just by looking at her.”
“I know this seems unfair to you as my biological daughter,” Livia continued, her voice softening. “But life is inherently unfair. It’s just bad luck.”
I nodded in agreement. “Indeed, it is bad luck–to have such a stupid birth mother.”
Livia flinched at my insult but tried again with a gentler tone. “I’m your birth mother. I never intended to abandon you. If you come back to us, I’ll give you the best of everything.”
I laughed at her words. “That’s rich. You can’t even bear to give up your adopted daughter, yet you claim you’ll give me your best?”
Chapter 18 Destroying Your Son’s Husmess
Seeing my determination, Livia lost her temper again. “Why did I have to give birth to such at disobedient daughter?”
I grabbed a broom from the corner and swung it at her. “Are you leaving or not?”
Claim
Livia covered her nose, dodging the broom. “Why are you so bewitched? Do you really think your aunt genuinely cares about you?”
I’d lost all patience. I threw down the broom and tossed a handful of powder at her.
Livia began coughing uncontrollably, her throat clearly itching unbearably.
“You’re slandering my mother,” I warned. “Leave now, or I’ll make you permanently mute.”
In reality, it was just ordinary itching powder that would wear off in a day, but that would be enough suffering for her.
“This woman finally knows what we’re capable of,” Ava purred in my mind with satisfaction.
Fearing further consequences, Livia picked up the bank card from the ground. She spat out “Heartless girl!” before scurrying away in humiliation.
No sooner had Livia left than Stewart arrived to inform me that the agreement to sever our relationship had been drafted according to the Patriarch’s instructions.
“If you’ve made up your mind, Miss, please come to the Moonlight Goddess Altar at eight tonight. The Patriarch will witness the signing himself,” he said formally.
I nodded happily, agreeing without hesitation.
(Third–person’s POV)
Adrian’s hand froze mid–pour when Livia told him that Amelia had refused the ten million. His expression was one of genuine surprise.
“How could a girl raised by rogue wolves turn down that kind of money?” he wondered aloud.
Livia clutched at her throat, which was still itching painfully. “That’s not all. She threatened to ruin our family and destroy our sons‘ businesses.”
Adrian slammed the coffee pot down on the table. “Did she really say that?”
Livia nodded vigorously. “She seems to know that we’ve been aware she was our daughter for years but did nothing. She’s harboring deep resentment against us.”
