I looked directly into Theodore’s eyes, feeling a strange connection I couldn’t quite explain.

“In this world, no one is more important to me than myself,” I said firmly. “Your situation is different from mine. Even if Ronan wanted revenge, you shouldn’t have been his target. You were the one who actively brought him back. If he truly respected and loved you, he wouldn’t have hurt you.”

I leaned forward, my voice hardening. “If Ronan really tried to assassinate you, then he deserves to go to hell.”

Theodore watched me with growing interest as I continued.

“Blood relations mean nothing to me. I only care about people who genuinely love me and

treat me well. The rest? They can disappear for all I care.”

A flash of admiration and envy crossed Theodore’s face. “You’re remarkably clear–headed. You can even deal with your own brother Ethan without hesitation.”

I shrugged, feeling no remorse. “Ethan attacked me first. Why should I show him mercy?”

Theodore fell silent for a moment, his expression thoughtful. Then his face relaxed into a

relieved smile.

“I came here today to clarify some things in my mind,” he admitted. “Seeing your actions and hearing your words, I now understand what I need to do.”

His gaze lingered on me, filled with determination and unexpected tenderness. “Meeting your has been truly fortunate for me, Amelia.”

I felt a sudden flutter of nervousness. My wolf Ava whispered in my mind: “Heal him quickly.

I’m certain he’s our mate.”

I cleared my throat, trying to appear casual. “Don’t be so serious.”

Theodore laughed softly. “If I’m not serious, you might think I treat everyone this way.”

“Do you?” I teased, grateful for the lighter tone.

“Only the ones who save me from boredom and give me hope,” he countered with a playful smile.

After finishing my examination of Theodore’s legs, I stood up and dusted off my clothes.

“Meet me here tomorrow at noon,” I told him. “I’ll begin your treatment then.”

I glanced at the darkening sky. “It’s getting late, and I have important matters to handle tonight. I can’t stay any longer.”

Theodore’s eyes showed reluctance, but he smiled and nodded. “Until tomorrow, then.”

It was nearly seven in the evening. Seraphina and Jaxon had returned from shopping for welcome feast supplies hours ago, but Amelia was nowhere to be found. Their calls to her phone went unanswered.

“Stewart, have you seen Amelia?” Seraphina asked the head steward, her voice tight with

worry.

Stewart shook his head respectfully. “No, my lady. But Livia came by around noon. She and Miss Amelia had a heated argument before the Livia left in anger.”

Seraphina’s face immediately tensed with concern.

“I can’t believe Adrian and Livia!” she exclaimed, pacing the room. “First, they refused to acknowledge Amelia, and now that she wants to sever ties with them, they won’t leave her alone.”

Her eyes flashed with anger. “They probably suspected we took Amelia away to regain the Alpha inheritance. In their hearts, financial gain has long overshadowed family bonds.” Jaxon placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Amelia is resourceful. I’m sure she’s fine.” Seraphina shook her head, unconvinced. “I need to speak with Livia directly.”

When Seraphina and Jaxon arrived at the East House, they encountered Livia, Adrian, Caleb, and Celine just leaving.

Livia’s lips curled into a mocking smile. “Perfect timing. We were just heading to the Moon Altar to prepare for severing ties with Amelia. You should join us.”

“Did you visit Amelia this afternoon?” Seraphina demanded, ignoring the taunt.

Livia raised an eyebrow. “Yes, I did. I was giving her one last chance to acknowledge us.”

“Maybe she regrets wanting to cut ties with us,” Caleb suggested with contempt. “She’s probably hiding somewhere, too ashamed to show her face.”

Livia laughed coldly. “Perhaps she prefers her real parents over you two after all. Though I’m not sure we want such a daughter anymore.”

Seraphina’s face hardened. “This isn’t a joke, Livia. Amelia is my daughter now. If anything happens to her, I will hold all of you accountable.”

Livia’s amusement vanished, replaced by venom. “You’re a barren she–wolf who can only steal other people’s daughters. How pathetic.”

Jaxon’s expression turned dangerous. “Adrian, control your mate.”

Adrian, no longer concerned about maintaining peace with his brother after the Amelia situation, shot back, “Don’t blame others for your inability to have children.”

The tension between the two families had finally erupted into open hostility.

“If Amelia is harmed in any way,” Seraphina threatened, her voice low and dangerous, “none of you will escape unscathed.”

Livia stepped forward, her eyes flashing with equal menace. “Is that a threat? You forget who holds the power in this pack.”
