Chapter 31: Three Months Until Mating!
Chapter 31: Three Months Until Mating!
(Amelia’s POV)
After hearing my treatment plan, Theodore answered without hesitation: “Go ahead with the treatment. Do whatever is necessary.”
I could see the determination in his eyes. After learning the cruel truth that his own brother wanted him dead, what pain couldn’t he endure now? I looked at Theodore with admiration flickering in my eyes.
“As expected from the man I’ve chosen,” I said softly.
To heal Theodore’s legs properly required not just exceptional medical skill but also the patient’s cooperation and willpower. His attitude satisfied me deeply.
I began preparing for Theodore’s treatment, placing my needle case and medicinal powders on the stone table. Gently, I lifted the fabric of his pants to expose his legs.
“Sexy leg hair,” I commented casually, examining his injured limbs.
Nearby, Marcus nearly choked at my blunt remark. Theodore looked slightly embarrassed but
smiled.
“As long as you like it,” he replied.
I raised an eyebrow playfully. “Of course I like it. Why else would I agree to get engaged to you?”
As I began the treatment, we discussed our arranged mating. Theodore asked if the Stone family had informed me about the alliance.
“Alaric mentioned it just this morning,” I confirmed. “He said that as the true Alpha’s daughter of the Stone River Pack, I should rightfully be your mate. I agreed.”
Theodore nodded. “Alaric is right. We should spend more time together to get to know each
other better.”
I joked while carefully inserting the first needle, “Once your legs are healed, if you feel we haven’t spent enough time together, we can schedule the marking ceremony. Then we’ll have all the time in the world to be together.”
Theodore’s eyes softened as he looked at me. “I’d like that very much.”

As the treatment progressed, Theodore began experiencing intense pain. It felt as if each bone in his legs was being shattered one by one. Despite the agony, he maintained his composure, not showing any discomfort, though he stopped making casual conversation.
Suddenly, he heard his wolf Logan whisper in his mind: “This pain is nothing. Once we can stand again, we’ll be able to protect her.”
Amelia noticed his struggle. “If it’s too painful, don’t force yourself to endure it. I have pain
medication.”
Theodore shook his head. “No. I want to remember this pain.”
Ethan observed their interaction from where he lay restrained. Initially confused, he began to understand something that puzzled him. Theodore treated Amelia with such tenderness his tone and gaze filled with affection and love. This was completely different from his polite but distant attitude toward Celine.
Ethan scoffed inwardly. Theodore was merely placing his hopes for healing on Amelia, nothing more. How could a man of Theodore’s status genuinely care for a country girl like
her?
Famous healers worldwide had declared Theodore’s condition untreatable, yet she dared to think she could heal him. Ethan smirked to himself, thinking that if she failed, Theodore would quickly lose patience with her once he realized she was useless.
(Amelia’s POV)
Three hours later, I carefully removed the numerous silver needles from Theodore’s legs one by one. I then wrapped his knee joints with bandages soaked in moonlight herb powder.
“Today’s treatment is complete,” I announced, looking at Theodore’s sweat–covered forehead with genuine admiration for his endurance.
Theodore wiped away the sweat and began massaging his legs. “The stiffness in my knees… it feels slightly better already.”
His eyes
lit
up with hope. “If I can truly heal completely in three months, let’s schedule our marking ceremony then.”
I agreed with a teasing smile. “I just hope you won’t regret it once your legs are healed.”
Theodore looked directly into my eyes, his gaze intense and sincere. “I’ve already chosen you. That won’t change.”

On our way back, Ethan asked how I had met Theodore.

“He sought me out,” I replied simply. “He saw me and wanted to mark me as his mate.”
Ethan sneered. “You don’t actually believe he genuinely wants to marry you, do you? He’s only settling for you because he’s crippled and doesn’t want to burden Celine.”
My wolf Ava growled angrily in my mind: “This i***t doesn’t understand the true meaning of a
mate bond.”
I turned to face Ethan. “So now Theodore is settling for me? Wasn’t I brought back specifically to replace Celine as Theodore’s mate? Now that I’m willing to be marked, you’re unhappy?”
I couldn’t help adding with a smirk, “Even if Celine were willing to be marked now, Theodore wouldn’t want her. He clearly likes me, not her.”
Ethan’s face darkened with anger, but he had no response.
