“Oh… of course,” I stammered, quickly pulling my phone from my pocket.

My fingers trembled as I dialed Healer Corwin’s number. What could have happened to my son’s leg? It didn’t look like a simple fracture. Had someone attacked him? Who would dare cripple my son?
My Ethan had always been the one to intimidate others, never the victim. Whoever did this would pay dearly.
Just then, Caleb and Celine walked into the living room. I rushed toward them immediately.
“Do either of you know what happened to Ethan’s right leg?” I demanded.
Celine’s face twisted with discomfort, clearly hiding something. But Caleb didn’t hesitate.
“It must be that wild girl Amelia!” he spat, his eyes flashing with anger. “Yesterday I went to Starlight Entertainment to tell Ethan how she’s been bullying Celine. And just now in the garage, we saw her treating him with complete disrespect!”
My blood boiled at his words. “That ungrateful little witch!” I hissed through clenched teeth. “If she’s responsible for this, I swear she’ll regret ever coming back to this pack!”
(Ethan’s POV)
I dragged my useless right leg into my bedroom and slammed the door shut. The pain was excruciating, but the humiliation burned even worse.
Sitting on my bed, I pulled up my pant leg to examine the damage. The severed tendon made my stomach turn. How could she have done this to me? Me, the Alpha heir of Stone River
Pack!
Minutes crawled by like hours. Just as my patience was wearing thin, a knock came at the
door.
“Ethan, Healer Corwin is here,” my mother called.
Relief flooded through me. I struggled to my feet and hobbled to the door, letting in the pack healer with his medicine bag.
“Mother, please give us privacy,” I said, waiting until she reluctantly left before closing the

Once we were alone, I turned to Healer Corwin. “It’s not my leg you need to examine. I’ve been poisoned.”
His eyes widened in shock. “Poisoned? Sit down immediately,” he instructed, setting his bag on the floor.
I perched on the edge of the bed while he began his examination. As minutes passed, his expression grew increasingly troubled. Finally, he sat back with a heavy sigh.
“I’m sorry, Alpha Ethan. I can’t identify this poison, nor do I have any remedy to counter its effects.”
My heart sank. If Stone River Pack’s most respected healer couldn’t help me, was I truly at Amelia’s mercy forever?
After Healer Corwin left, I sat alone for a long time before finally reaching for my phone. There was one person who might be able to help.
“Valerius Kane,” I said when he answered. “I need to know if you can connect me with someone who specializes in poisons and antidotes.”
“Interesting request,” the auction house owner replied smoothly. “Have you been poisoned, Alpha Ethan?”
“Yes,” I admitted through gritted teeth. “Money is no object if you can find someone to help
me.”
Valerius made a sound of consideration. “The best poison expert is, naturally, a poison maker. There is one known as the ‘Blight Witch‘ who occasionally brings rare herbs to my
auction house.”
“Perfect. When can I meet her?”
“That’s the problem,” Valerius said reluctantly. “She only appears when she has new specimens to auction. Each plant sells for at least ten million. She doesn’t lack for money.”
Desperation clawed at my chest. “There must be something you can do!”
“I can only notify you when she next comes to auction,” he offered.
After hanging up, I clutched my phone so tightly. A fire of revenge burns in my heart. Once I found a way to neutralize this poison, Amelia would pay dearly for what she’d done to me.

Back at my villa, I carefully collected the herbs I’d been drying and brought them to my room. I sorted them meticulously into different wooden boxes when my phone rang.
“Silas,” I answered, expecting his report on Stone River Pack’s business ventures.
“I’ve completed the investigation you requested,” he said in his efficient manner. “The majority of Stone River Pack’s income still comes from Stone River Botanicals, though it’s been declining under Adrian’s management. They haven’t developed any innovative medicines while their competitors continue to advance. If Adrian doesn’t change his approach, the company will only struggle more in the future.”
I nodded to myself. This aligned with my expectations.
“The second highest earner is Starlight Entertainment, managed by Ethan. He’s achieved some minor successes,” Silas continued. “He’s currently trying to acquire the rights to bestselling author Shadow Healer Lily’s final unpublished novel. Everyone in the industry knows Lily only wrote four works, with the first three adaptations becoming massive hits. The rights to the final work are highly coveted.”
My eyebrows shot up in surprise. What a coincidence–I was Lily.
“Ethan has no chance of acquiring those rights,” Silas added, a hint of amusement in his voice. “Not when you’re Lily yourself.”
My wolf Ava laughed in my mind. “Seems our identity is more valuable than we thought.”
I chuckled softly. “What about my new father? What’s he managing these days?”
“Adrian currently oversees Umbra Analytics, a newly established biotechnology company. Being so new, it’s not generating significant revenue yet.”
“Biotechnology, hmm?” I murmured, my interest immediately piqued.
Now, some humans have gained a certain awareness of the existence of werewolves, and a small number of human companies are conducting secret experiments with werewolves, attempting to replicate their genes. For us, reverse defense is also a very important matter. Moreover, I have already conducted some research, and if we can cooperate, this could potentially become Northgate City’s most successful company!
