Alaric let out a quiet sigh. He shook his head slowly, signaling that he had no objection.
He dared not voice any complaint. Without riding on Amelia’s coattails, the Stone River Pack would be nothing. They would never have the chance to sit at the same table as the powerful Crimson Moon Pack.
Ethan and Caleb saw the commotion. They watched their father, Adrian, sprawled on the floor in
humiliation.
They exchanged a quick glance. Neither moved. To intervene now would ruin Amelia’s mood.
More importantly, they could not risk offending the heir to the Alpha King. So, they chose to avoid making
a scene.
Adrian lay there for a moment, his face burning. The humiliation was suffocating.
Slowly, he picked himself up. He dusted off his suit with trembling hands. He righted his chair, moving with
stiff, jerky motions.
Before he sat, he cast a terrified glance toward Theodore. The Alpha’s golden eyes were cold, but he gave
no further command to attack.
Only then did Adrian dare to sit. He huddled in his chair, trying to make himself invisible.

The gift–giving continued. Finally, only Ethan and Caleb remained.
Ethan stepped forward first. He held out a small, simply wrapped box. His expression was awkward, his
usual arrogance replaced by shame.
“Amelia,” he started, his voice low. “My financial situation… it isn’t what it used to be.”
He cleared his throat nervously.
“This isn’t as expensive as the gifts I used to give Celine. But I promise, I will make it up to you. Next year, I
will double it.”
I looked at the box in his hand. I didn’t even open it. I let out a cold sneer.
I took the box from him. Then, with a flick of my wrist, I tossed it onto the pile of discarded wrappings like
it was trash.
‘The scent of hypocrisy is nauseating, Ava growled in my mind. ‘Do they think cheap material goods can erase years of neglect?‘
I turned my gaze to Caleb. He flinched under my stare.

“And you?” I asked icily. “What have you prepared?”
Caleb fumbled in his pocket. He pulled out a string of beads. They glowed faintly.

“It’s a moonstone bracelet,” he stammered. “I had it blessed by the elders. It… it wards off evil. It will keep you safe.”
I laughed. The sound was sharp and devoid of humor.
“Safe?” I mocked. “If not for the Stone family, I wouldn’t be in danger at all. The only evil I need protection from is standing right in front of me.”
Caleb’s face turned as white as a sheet. He opened his mouth to argue, but the words died in his throat.
“I… I’m sorry,” he whispered bitterly.
I waved my hand, dismissing him like a servant. I didn’t want to hear his excuses.
The two brothers retreated to their seats. They walked with their heads down, like dogs with their tails
between their legs.
I caught Adrian glaring at them from his seat. I could practically hear him cursing their stupidity for
begging for forgiveness at a time like this.
(Amelia’s POV)
I gathered the remaining gifts. I handed them to Seraphina, who sat beside me. Her eyes were red, but she
was smiling.
I stood up and faced the room. The guests fell silent, their attention fixed on me.
“Thank you all for coming,” I said, my voice clear and strong. “This is my twenty–second birthday. It is also
the first birthday I have spent back in the Stone River Pack.”
I looked down at Jaxon and Seraphina.
“My parents have made this night unforgettable,” I continued. “I want to thank them for their love.”
I stepped away from the table, letting the light catch the fabric of my dress.
“This gown is unique,” I announced. “It was designed and sewn by my mother, Seraphina.”
Gasps of admiration rippled through the crowd. Seraphina covered her mouth, surprised by the sudden
attention.
“She has decided to follow her passion,” I declared. “Seraphina will be opening a high–end fashion design
studio.”
“That is amazing!” Natasha shouted from the Crimson table.
She clapped her hands enthusiastically.
“I’m booking the first appointment!” Natasha beamed. “I’ll tell all the girls in the capital. Auntie Seraphina is

Seraphina’s eyes filled with tears. To receive such praise from the Crimson family was an honor she never
expected.
I smiled at the room.
“Please,” I said, raising my glass. “Mingle and enjoy the feast.”
Miles away, the atmosphere was far less celebratory.
Celine sat in the dark booth at Night City. She stared at the live feed on the wall, her eyes burning with
malice.
She watched Amelia smile. She watched the guests laugh.
“Why isn’t it happening yet?” she hissed.
She was waiting for the show. The aphrodisiac was potent. It should have turned that elegant banquet into
a chaotic mess of primal urges by now.
She wanted to see Amelia humiliated. She wanted to see her stripped of her dignity in front of the Alpha
King’s heir.
Griffin sat nearby, swirling a glass of red wine. A cruel smirk played on his lips.
“Patience,” he murmured.
He viewed this as a grand experiment. He had dosed the wine supply for the entire banquet. Fifty
werewolves. All about to lose their minds.
He wanted to see if the new formula was as powerful as promised. With a dark chuckle, he downed the
contents of his own glass.
Thirty minutes ticked by.
On the screen, the guests had finished their venison steaks. They had drained their glasses of red wine.
Yet, nothing happened. They chatted politely. No one was tearing at their clothes. No one was losing
control.
Celine was growing frantic with impatience. She tapped her nails against the table.
“Did the kitchen mess up?” she snapped. “Is the drug expired? Why are they fine?”
Griffin frowned. He leaned forward, squinting at the screen. It didn’t make sense.
“Hey,” Lucas Lloyd suddenly spoke up.
He pulled at his collar. “When is the big show starting? And why is it so hot in here?”
Lucas wiped sweat from his forehead. “Turn up the AC. I’m burning up.”
