The air inside the VIP booth at Night City was thick and suffocating. It smelled of expensive perfume mixed with a sweet, dangerous chemical scent that clawed at the throat.
Wade, Griffin’s personal assistant, was slumped against the velvet wall. His face was flushed a deep, unnatural crimson. He tried to push himself up to help his master, but his limbs felt like they had turned to water.
“Alpha…” Wade groaned, his voice weak and trembling. He slid sideways, unable to maintain his balance.
“Useless!” Griffin snarled, though he was swaying on his feet as well.
Griffin’s phone rang, the shrill sound piercing the heavy atmosphere. He fumbled for it, his fingers numb and clumsy. The name ‘Jade‘ flashed on the screen.
With a roar of frustration, he answered.
“Get back here!” Griffin bellowed. “Where the hell are you?”
“Griffin, I can’t,” Jade’s voice came through, sounding anxious and rushed. “My father… Alpha Arthur just collapsed. He is critically ill.”
Griffin gripped the phone so hard the casing cracked. The fire in his blood was demanding release, and she was making excuses?
“I don’t care about your father!” Griffin shouted, his voice guttural. “Get your body back here right now! I command you!”
“I’m sorry, I have to go to the Gale Pack immediately to check on him,” Jade said quickly. “I cannot be with you tonight.”
Before he could scream again, the line went dead.
Griffin stared at the phone in disbelief. A wave of fury crashed over him. With a primal scream, he crushed the device in his hand, sending plastic shards flying onto the expensive carpet. She had abandoned him right when he needed her most.
The effects of the drug were hitting him like a tidal wave now.
This was the “Heat Inducer.” It was a banned substance, a terrifying new formula designed to strip away reason and induce a state of permanent, mindless rut. It was tearing through his mental defenses, incinerating his rationality.
Griffin clutched his head, his vision swimming. He looked down at Wade.
“The antidote,” Griffin gasped, sweat pouring down his face. “Get me the antidote for this specific strain!

Now!”
Wade looked up, his eyes wide with despair and terror.

“There isn’t one, Alpha,” Wade whispered, his voice cracking. “This was developed to control Omegas… to break them completely. There is no cure.”
Nick, the manager of Night City, stood by the door. His face went as white as a sheet.
“No antidote?” Nick stammered. “If the guests outside are like this… Night City is ruined.”
He realized the magnitude of the disaster. A mass orgy fueled by illegal drugs would destroy the Drake family’s reputation instantly.
Griffin felt the last of his sanity slipping away. The beast within him roared, hungry and mindless. He had
seconds left before he was gone completely.
With shaking hands, he grabbed Wade’s discarded phone. He dialed the one person who could save him.
“Grandmother,” he rasped when Matriarch Octavia Drake answered. “It’s out of control. The drug…
everyone. Fix it.”
He dropped the phone as the red haze consumed his vision. His eyes turned blood–red, glowing with predatory lust.
He scanned the room. His gaze locked onto Celine.
She was writhing on the leather couch, clinging to Lucas Lloyd, her fingers digging into his shoulders.
“Celine,” Griffin commanded, his voice vibrating with Alpha power. “Come here.”
The command cut through her drug–induced haze. Celine froze. She pushed Lucas away violently, her eyes filled with nothing but raw desire as she looked at Griffin.
She didn’t walk; she practically crawled over the table to get to him.
Lucas, denied his prize, looked at Griffin’s terrifying state. He knew he couldn’t fight an Alpha in this condition. Trembling with his own unfulfilled heat, Lucas stumbled out of the booth, running into the
hallway to hunt for any other available target.

Outside, in the dark alley behind the club, a black sedan sat idling in the shadows.
Jade hung up her phone and let out a long, shaky breath. She leaned back against the headrest, closing
her eyes.
“Thank you, Silas,” she said softly.
She turned to look at the man in the driver’s seat. “If Amelia hadn’t warned me about the wine… I would be
in there right now.”
She shuddered. The thought of being trapped in that room with a drugged Griffin made her skin crawl.

Silas Grey stared straight ahead, his hands resting lightly on the steering wheel. His expression was cold
and professional.
“Do not thank me,” Silas said flatly. “It was Miss Stone’s order. She knew Griffin would try to use the drug.”
Jade looked back at the flashing neon sign of the club. Her fear turned into admiration.
“She didn’t just escape,” Jade murmured. “She turned his own trap against him. He is finished.”
Silas tapped the earpiece in his right ear.
“Status,” he demanded.
A voice crackled in his ear. “Fifty–six targets confirmed inside. Griffin and his business partners are fully
compromised. The lobby is absolute chaos.”
“And the recording?” Silas asked.
“Hidden cameras are capturing everything. The stream is being uploaded to the cloud in real–time. It will
be ready for release tomorrow morning.”
Silas nodded. A cruel, satisfied smile touched his lips.
“They dared to try and use this filth on Amelia,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “Tomorrow, the Wolf
Council will burn this place to the ground.”
He shifted gears and floored the accelerator. The black car screeched out of the alley, leaving the den of
sin behind.

Meanwhile, the banquet hall at the Stone River Pack House was bathed in warm, golden light.
The atmosphere was peaceful. Guests were enjoying delicate desserts, and soft music played in the
background.
Amelia sat at the head table, leaning in to whisper something to Theodore. The Alpha King’s heir looked at her with soft, golden eyes, a rare smile playing on his lips.
Suddenly, a piercing scream shattered the tranquility.
“You ungrateful wretch!”
The heavy double doors banged open with a deafening crash.
Amelia turned slowly.
Livia stood in the doorway. She looked like a banshee risen from the grave.
Her expensive evening gown was torn to shreds and stained with mud. Her hair was a matted, tangled
mess around her face.
“You!” Livia shrieked, her eyes manic. She pointed a shaking, dirty finger straight at Amelia.

“You wretched she–wolf!” she screamed, her voice echoing off the high ceilings. “You did this to me!”
Ethan and Caleb jumped from their seats, their faces pale with shock.
“Mother!” Ethan cried out.
They rushed forward, intercepting her before she could charge at the head table.
“Mother, stop,” Caleb pleaded, grabbing her arm. “Calm down. It is Amelia’s birthday. Everyone is
watching.”
Livia thrashed in their grip, her strength fueled by hysteria.
“I don’t care who is watching!” she wailed. “She kidnapped me! She hired Rogues to torture her own
mother!”
She looked at her sons, tears streaming down her grime–streaked face.
“I escaped,” she sobbed, her voice breaking. “I crawled through the mud for miles. I thought I would never
see you again.”
She covered her face with her hands, trembling violently. The fear radiating from her was real.
Deep down, a part of her knew the truth. But her mind refused to accept that her mate, Adrian, could be the one behind her suffering. It was easier, safer, to blame the daughter she had always despised.
‘Her scent is revolting,‘ Ava growled in Amelia’s mind. ‘She reeks of lies and delusion. She creates her own reality because she is too weak to face the monster she married.’
Ethan and Caleb looked at each other, unsure of what to do. They thought she was having a mental
breakdown.
“Mother, please,” Ethan hissed. “You are making a scene. Amelia has been here the whole time.”
Adrian, who had been watching silently, finally stood up. He walked toward them, his face arranged into a
mask of deep concern.
“Boys,” Adrian said gravely. “Don’t dismiss her pain.”
He gestured to Livia’s trembling form.
“Look at your mother,” Adrian said, his voice heavy with fake sorrow. “She is not lying about her suffering.
Look how thin she is.”
Ethan and Caleb froze. They looked closely at Livia for the first time.
Her cheeks were sunken, her eyes hollow. Her collarbones protruded sharply against her pale skin. She looked like a skeleton wrapped in rags.
The brothers felt a chill run down their spines. Their resolve to defend the peace of the banquet wavered.
“Mother…” Caleb whispered, horrified. “What happened to you?”

Livia sobbed harder. With trembling hands, she reached for the tattered silk scarf tied around her neck.
She ripped it away.
Gasps rippled through the hall.
Ugly, raw burns circled her neck. The skin was blistered and black, the unmistakable mark of torture.
“Silver,” someone whispered in the crowd.
“They used silver ropes,” Livia cried, tears washing streaks through the dirt on her face. “They tied me up
like an animal. Day and night.”
She turned her gaze back to Amelia. Her eyes were filled with pure, unadulterated venom.
“It was her!” Livia shrieked, her voice cracking with hysteria.
She pointed at Amelia again, her hand shaking violently.
“Your sister did this! She hired those filth to take me away so she could take over! She is a devil! She
wants me dead!”
