Chapter 366: Could It Be Your Father?

Adrian stood there, his hand trembling violently. His knuckles turned white as he gripped his phone with desperate force. On the screen, the video looped relentlessly.
It showed Livia, down on her hands and knees in the mud, shoving slop into her mouth like a starving rogue. The sound of her frantic chewing filled the tense silence of the banquet hall. It was disgusting.
“An anonymous source sent this to me,” Adrian’s voice shook.
He looked up, his face twisted in a mask of pain and righteous anger.
“My heart is breaking,” he choked out, his eyes glistening with fake tears. “To see my mate, the mother of my children, tortured like an animal… It is unbearable.”
He spun around to face Grandfather Alaric. He pointed a shaking finger directly at me.
“She is a monster!” Adrian roared. “She hired rogues to kidnap and humiliate her own mother! How can someone be so vicious?”
I stood still, my expression unreadable, watching his performance.
“Father,” Adrian continued, his voice rising to a fever pitch. “Look at what she did! Are you really going to
hand the Stone River Pack’s future to her?”
He took a step closer to the old Alpha, his voice booming.
“Think about the Legacy! Think about our ancestors!” Adrian shouted. “She is cruel and cold–blooded. She
abuses her biological mother for sport. Aren’t you afraid?”
He gestured wildly at the screen, his face flushed.
“If she does this to her own mother, what will she do to her own kin when she has real power?” he
demanded. “She will destroy us all!”
I watched his theatrics without blinking. It was a twisted accusation, desperate and flailing.
In the back of my mind, Ava let out a snort of disdain. Her sapphire eyes flashed with mockery in our
shared headspace.
*This hypocritical male reeks of lies,* Ava growled. *He tries to cover his greed with this pathetic acting. It
is truly pitiful.*

Before Adrian could say another word, a sharp crack echoed through the banquet hall.
Alaric had moved faster than his age suggested. He slapped Adrian across the face with all his strength.

The sound silenced the murmurs of the guests instantly.
Alaric’s chest heaved up and down. He took a deep, rattling breath.

“You dare?” Alaric hissed. “You didn’t come here today to apologize. You didn’t come to make amends.”
He glared at his son with utter disappointment.
“You came for profit,” Alaric stated coldly. “I wanted to give you one last chance. I hoped you would show
some remorse. But look at you.”
Adrian stumbled back, clutching his swelling cheek. A trickle of blood ran from the corner of his mouth.
He let out a cold, self–deprecating laugh.
“A chance?” Adrian spat. “You never truly wanted to give me a chance, old man.”
Lyra, standing nearby, saw the tide turning against them completely. She stepped forward, panic in her
eyes.
“Father, please,” Lyra cried out. “Adrian is desperate! You are backing him into a corner!”
She looked around nervously, trying to detach herself from Adrian’s failure while still arguing his point.
“Handing the entire Pack’s control to an inexperienced girl?” Lyra shrilled. “It is madness! Of course, he is
reacting this way. You left him with nothing!”
Theodore Crimson sat silently in his wheelchair. His golden eyes were cold as ice.
“A slap is too light,” Theodore said, his voice deep and dangerous. “They ruined Amelia’s birthday banquet.
They insulted the future Alpha. They deserve far worse.”
Alaric’s fury reignited at Theodore’s words. He raised his heavy wooden cane high.
“Get out!” Alaric roared, swinging the cane down toward Adrian.
Adrian didn’t just stand there this time. He caught the cane mid–air. His grip was firm, defying his father.
“You are biased!” Adrian shouted, shoving the cane back. “You have always favored her!”
Alaric’s face went purple with rage. He pointed a trembling finger at the door.
“Get out of my Pack House!” Alaric bellowed. “Take your family and leave! Now!”
Adrian released the cane. He turned his head and spat a mouthful of bloody saliva onto the polished floor.
“You’ll regret this,” Adrian threatened darkly.
Ethan watched the scene unfold with a sinking heart. He realized with crushing certainty that it was over. His mother’s outburst had destroyed everything.
There was no hope for forgiveness now. Amelia would never look at them with anything but hatred.
He turned to Caleb, who was still staring in shock at their father’s defiance. Ethan patted his brother’s shoulder heavily.

“Let’s go,” Ethan murmured, his voice hollow. “Don’t make it harder for her.”

The guards escorted Adrian and his sons out. The hall felt lighter instantly.
Alaric turned his stern gaze toward Lyra.
Lyra froze. She realized she was the only one left. Her face paled.
“Father,” Lyra stammered. “I… I can’t go.”
She wrung her hands together.

“I cannot return to the Drake Pack right now,” she pleaded. “Things are complicated there. If you kick me
out, I have nowhere to go. The Drakes might punish me.”
Alaric narrowed his eyes.
“Did you know about Adrian’s plan?” he asked sharply.
“No!” Lyra exclaimed, shaking her head vigorously. “I swear! I knew nothing about the video or Livia’s
madness. I am innocent!”
Alaric considered this. If he threw her out now, she might run to the Drakes with internal information about
the Stone River Pack. It was a risk.
“Fine,” Alaric grunted. “You can stay for now.”
Lyra let out a breath of relief.
“But listen to me,” Alaric warned, his voice low. “If you try to harm Amelia, or if you plot with Adrian, I will
not be merciful.”
“I understand,” Lyra nodded quickly. “I won’t cause trouble.”
Alaric turned to Amelia. His expression softened into regret.
“I am sorry, my child,” Alaric said gently. “I didn’t handle this well. I ruined your birthday.”
Amelia offered him a faint, meaningful smile.
“It’s okay, Grandfather,” she said calmly. “I let them make a scene on purpose.”
Alaric looked confused. “On purpose?”
“You will understand soon,” Amelia replied cryptically.
She turned her gaze to Lyra. The warmth vanished from her eyes.
“Since you are staying,” Amelia said, her voice icy. “Know your place, Aunt Lyra.”
Lyra stiffened.
“Grandfather isn’t the only one making decisions here,” Amelia continued. “If you displease me, I have the

Lyra clenched her jaw. She had to swallow her pride.
“I understand,” Lyra forced out.
