Marcus glanced coldly at Derek with a severe, unforgiving expression. He gripped the leather handles of the wheelchair with his strong hands and pushed Theodore slowly into the grand hall.
Theodore’s jet–black hair contrasted sharply with his pale, handsome face. A faint, completely unbothered smile rested comfortably on his lips.
He looked up at Derek with his intense, predatory golden eyes. His deep voice was completely calm and steady.
“If my legs were fully recovered right now, would you still dare to speak to me like this?” Theodore asked quietly.
Derek’s mocking smirk froze instantly on his face. He quickly straightened his posture, trying desperately to look imposing.
“Why wouldn’t I dare!” Derek shot back stubbornly, puffing out his broad chest.
However, his voice cracked slightly under the heavy pressure. He clearly lacked true confidence in his own defiant words.
Back when Theodore was the commanding, formidable, and untouchable heir, Derek had always cowered in his terrifying presence.

Derek never had the guts to use such a sarcastic tone with the true, powerful heir of the Crimson Moon
Pack.
Ever since Theodore’s legendary black wolf form was crippled, Derek had quickly concluded his cousin was entirely useless.
This tragic accident had finally given Garrett a real, tangible chance to compete for the highly coveted position of heir.
Theodore easily saw through Derek’s shallow and greedy thoughts. The smile on his lips grew even more mocking and cold.
He leaned back comfortably in his expensive wheelchair. He looked at his ambitious cousins leisurely, completely unfazed by their sudden presence.
“We’ll see about that,” Theodore said smoothly, his tone dripping with quiet, absolute confidence. “Wait until my legs fully recover next month.”
He tilted his head slightly, locking his golden eyes with Derek’s. “Let’s see if you can still speak so toughly then.”

Hearing the specific timeframe of “next month,” Garrett’s shrewd golden eyes narrowed sharply in sudden,
calculating suspicion.
His mind began to race with rapid, incredibly anxious calculations. He stared intently at Theodore’s
motionless legs resting heavily on the footrests.
If Theodore was not bluffing right now, everything they had worked for was about to change drastically.
Once his legs healed completely, Alpha King Gideon would never hand over the heir position on a silver
platter to anyone else.
Garrett realized their fragile window of opportunity was closing extremely fast. Their precious time to
seize power was truly running out.
Derek saw the tense situation going south rapidly. He immediately decided to change the subject to save
his own face.
He turned his attention to the imposing figure sitting at the head of the room. He began to complain loudly
to Gideon.
“Grandfather, you should have seen what happened at Amelia’s birthday banquet last night,” Derek started dramatically, raising his voice.
He pointed an accusing finger directly at Theodore’s calm face. “Theodore actually signed a post–nuptial property agreement with her!”
Derek exaggerated his deep shock, waving his arms around frantically. “He promised that if he ever betrays his mate, he will walk away with absolutely nothing.” 1
He paced frantically across the polished marble floor. “If Theodore becomes the heir, this terrifying agreement is incredibly dangerous for us all.”
Derek looked at Gideon with wide, panicked eyes. “If Amelia plays her wicked tricks, the Crimson Moon
Pack’s massive wealth will be lost.”
He scoffed bitterly, shaking his head in disgust. “It will all fall into the hands of a woman with no ties to this pack!”
Garrett stepped forward quickly, pretending to stop his brother’s sudden outburst. “Derek, calm down
immediately. Don’t speak ill of Theodore’s chosen mate.”
But Garrett’s smooth tone was dripping with thick, false sympathy. He was actually mocking Amelia’s deep, calculating scheming.
“Amelia didn’t mind Theodore’s severe disability from the very start,” Garrett sighed softly, looking at Gideon. “We all know exactly why.”
He shook his head with a look of profound, fake pity. “She was simply plotting for the Pack’s immense wealth all along.”

Theodore watched the two brothers playing off each other with a cold, detached gaze. He found their pathetic performance incredibly boring.
“You both are taking Grandfather for an absolute fool,” Theodore pointed out sharply. “Do you honestly think he cannot see through this cheap act?”
Gideon finally reached his absolute limit with the endless bickering. He slammed his expensive porcelain teacup down onto the heavy wooden table.
The loud, sharp crack echoed loudly through the silent, incredibly tense hall. Everyone instantly froze in their tracks.
“Enough!” Gideon’s authoritative voice boomed like rolling thunder. His piercing golden eyes glared furiously at Derek and Garrett.
He reiterated the strict three–month performance deadline he had previously set for the entire Crimson family.
“You will speak with your real abilities and tangible results,” Gideon warned them harshly. “Do not come here to stir up meaningless trouble!”
After being severely reprimanded, Garrett quickly adjusted his failing strategy. He turned back to Theodore with a fake, forced smile.
“Congratulations on your successful alliance, Theodore,” Garrett said smoothly, trying desperately to sound genuine. “It seems your mate is quite a capable woman.”
He brought up the recent devastating events in the capital city. “The Drake Pack suffered incredibly heavy losses due to the Night City crisis.”
Garrett chuckled softly, a cruel and heartless sound. “Even Matriarch Octavia fell on her sword for the pack to save their failing reputation.”
He nodded approvingly at Theodore’s calm demeanor. “This simply proves that marrying Amelia was a highly beneficial move for your future.”
Then, Garrett smoothly shifted his conversational tactics once again. His golden eyes glinted with hidden, dangerous malice.
“Speaking of our family,” Garrett murmured deliberately. “Ronan is still locked up securely in the city detention center.”
He sighed heavily, looking deeply concerned for his cousin “And Uncle Theron has been missing for a very long time now.”
Derek gasped loudly, acting completely surprised by the sudden, dark topic. He looked at Theodore with pure malicious intent.
“You don’t think Theodore had something to do with it, do you?” Derek asked sarcastically, raising an eyebrow.

He heavily implied that Theodore had been completely ruthless and cruel to his own biological father.
Theodore decided to stop dancing around the annoying issue. He launched a direct, brutal counterattack
against his cousins.
“I found Victor recently,” Theodore stated flatly, his voice completely devoid of any emotion.
Garrett’s fake smile twitched uncontrollably at the mention of the name. He stared at Theodore intently,
trying to read his cousin’s expression.
“Victor personally admitted the ugly truth to me,” Theodore continued, his voice dropping to a deadly,
chilling whisper.
He locked his glowing golden eyes firmly with Garrett’s. “He confessed that kidnapping Theron was
entirely instructed by you.”
Garrett’s face changed slightly, losing some of its healthy color. A brief flash of sheer panic crossed his
features before he masked it.
He knew Theodore was likely bluffing him to get a panicked reaction out of him.
However, Garrett was genuinely surprised by Theodore’s entirely new, aggressive demeanor.
Theodore’s speaking style had become just as blunt, sharp, and utterly unscrupulous as Amelia’s.
Theodore didn’t let up for a single second. He continued to apply heavy, suffocating pressure on his scheming cousins.
“Listen to me very carefully,” Theodore warned them coldly, his powerful aura flaring. “If anything happens to Theron, it will be on your heads.”
His golden eyes flared with absolute, terrifying dominance. “I’ll hold you personally responsible for
whatever happens to him.”
Seeing the tense, dangerous stalemate between the powerful cousins, Gideon finally interrupted the bitter
argument.
“That is enough for today,” Gideon commanded with absolute finality. “You will all stay here for dinner
tonight.”
He looked directly at Garrett with a calculating, heavy gaze. “After the meal, Garrett, you will play a game
of chess with me.”
Garrett was absolutely overjoyed by the sudden, unexpected invitation. A massive, greedy grin spread
across his calculated face.
He firmly believed this was a clear, undeniable sign of his grandfather’s Immense favor. He shot a smug,
victorious glance at Theodore.
The dinner passed in thick, incredibly uncomfortable silence. No one dared to speak out of turn under Gideon’s watchful, piercing eyes.

After the heavy meal concluded, Garrett stood up eagerly from the dining table. He proudly followed
Gideon into the private study.
Derek stood by the dining table, looking incredibly smug and arrogant. He smirked down at Theodore’s stationary wheelchair.
Theodore remained perfectly calm and composed in his seat. He didn’t show a single ounce of frustration
or anger.
“I think I will stay right here,” Theodore said mildly, picking up his crystal water glass. “I want to see how long Garrett will last.”
Derek scoffed loudly and rolled his eyes in complete disbelief. He crossed his muscular arms confidently
over his chest.
