Chapter 78: Taking Control of Starlight Entertainment
Chapter 78: Taking Control of Starlight Entertainment
(Amelia’s POV)
“Dad…” Livia started to protest, but Adrian grabbed her arm, stopping her mid–sentence.
His face darkened as he signaled it was time to leave. With a stiff bow to Patriarch Alaric, they departed, their bodyguards trailing behind them like wounded animals.
Once they were gone, Grandfather turned to me with a weary sigh. “Are you satisfied now?” he asked, his eyes searching mine.
I shrugged, completely unrepentant. “They came looking for trouble. I only kicked him once- that was actually quite polite of me.”
Alaric shook his head, a mixture of concern and amusement crossing his weathered face. “Your sharp edges are showing, child. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad.”
“When you have enough power, sharp edges are always good,” I replied confidently. “It’s only those who lack strength who need to hide their thorns.”
My words seemed to strike something deep within him. His eyes grew distant, thoughtful. I could almost see the wheels turning in his mind as he considered the Stone family’s future.
“My son and grandsons lack that fire,” he finally admitted. “Perhaps what this family needs is exactly what you bring.”
A small smile tugged at my lips. “I won’t disappoint you, Grandfather.”
“Keep those sharp edges, then,” he said with newfound resolve. “Just make sure you know
when to use them.”
I nodded, seeing my opportunity. “Speaking of using my edges effectively, I’ve noticed some concerning issues with the family businesses.”
Alaric’s expression immediately turned serious. “What issues?”
“Both Stone River Botanicals under Adrian and Starlight Entertainment under Ethan are struggling,” I explained. “They’re facing serious crises that could affect the pack’s standing.”
Grandfather’s eyes narrowed. “What do you propose?”
I didn’t hesitate. “I want you to transfer management of Starlight Entertainment to me next month. I’ll double its market value within a year.”

It was a bold claim, and I knew it. Alaric studied me intently, weighing my words against what he’d seen of my capabilities.
“That’s quite a promise,” he said carefully.
“I don’t make promises I can’t keep.”
After a long moment of consideration, he nodded. “Very well. If Ethan fails to show results this month, you’ll take over Starlight Entertainment’s management next month.”
I could hardly believe he’d agreed so readily. This was exactly what I needed.
After seeing Grandfather to the door, I returned to find Seraphina looking at me with wide eyes.
“I can’t believe it,” she breathed. “I thought for sure you’d be punished after everything that happened today. Instead, he’s giving you Starlight Entertainment!”
I smiled, settling beside her on the sofa. “Grandfather cares about one thing above all else- the strength and future of the Stone family. I proved myself at the welcoming ceremony last night.”
“But still, to hand over a major company…”
“He won’t let Adrian’s family trouble me,” I explained. “Not unless they can produce better results than I can. And they can’t.”
I knew Ethan was pinning his last hopes on securing exclusive rights to the Shadow Healer Lily’s treatment manuals. What he didn’t know was that I was Lily. His hopes were doomed from the start.
“I also plan to help Stone River Botanicals turn things around,” I continued. “With my medicinal herbs and technical team, we can transform the company completely.”
Seraphina shook her head in amazement. “When it comes down to it, you’ve earned this through your own abilities.”
“You were pretty impressive yourself,” I countered with a grin. “The way you stood up for me was amazing!”
A blush crept across her cheeks. “Was I too harsh? I was so angry seeing them attack you like that.”
“You were perfect,” I assured her. “That’s what strength looks like–protecting those you care about.”

“Your skin looks amazing,” I observed. “Not a wrinkle in sight. Uncle Jaxon must take very good care of you.”
Seraphina touched her face self–consciously. “Really? No wrinkles at all?”
“Not one,” I confirmed with a smile.
She laughed, her eyes crinkling with genuine happiness. “You always know just what to say!”
(Third–person’s POV)
Back at The Twilight Pavilion, Livia paced the floor, unable to contain her frustration any longer.
“Adrian, how could you just stand there while that wild girl kicked you?” she demanded. “How can you tolerate such disrespect?”
Adrian’s eyes flashed with cold anger. “Did you not see how Patriarch Alaric looked at her? Especially after last night’s banquet, when even Alpha King Gideon showed her such approval?”
He ran a hand through his hair in frustration. “Complaining to Father now would only make him more dissatisfied with us and more inclined to favor Jaxon’s family.”
“So we just swallow this humiliation?” Livia’s voice rose shrilly.
Adrian’s face darkened. “We’ll handle Amelia ourselves. Don’t bother Father with this again.”
Inwardly, he was already calculating. They needed a more powerful strategy to convince Alaric to expel Amelia from the Stone family once and for all.
Livia could only nod reluctantly. “Fine,” she muttered.
After finishing his work at the company, Jaxon returned to his office to find a missed call from Agnes. When he called back and learned what had happened to Amelia in his absence, he immediately rushed home.
“Seraphina, Amelia! Are you alright? Were you hurt?” he burst through the door, his breathing ragged as he dropped to his knees in front of Amelia.
I stared at him in surprise, shaking my head. “I’m fine, Uncle.”
Relief washed over his face, quickly replaced by fury. “If anything had happened to you, I would never have forgiven Adrian.”

Seraphina clutched her chest, still shaken by the day’s events. “They came when we were alone, Jaxon. It was so underhanded. Thank goodness Amelia can take care of herself, or who knows what might have happened.”
Jaxon frowned deeply, rising to his feet to pace beside the coffee table. “This isn’t enough. Bodyguards clearly aren’t sufficient protection.”
His eyes were dark with determination as he continued pacing. “I need to find another way to keep Amelia safe.”
