Chapter 81: Cutting Ties
Chapter 81: Cutting Ties
(Theodore’s POV)
“So father is this furious over such a trivial matter.”
I looked at the enraged man before me, my tone as calm as discussing bad weather. My attitude clearly infuriated him further. Theron suddenly lifted his foot and kicked over the expensive mahogany coffee table in front of him. The harsh sound of splintering echoed through the study as wood fragments flew, but he didn’t seem to care.
“I am your father! I have the right to discipline you!” he roared, spittle flying as he tried to establish his crumbling authority through primitive force.
Clairm
I let out a deeply sarcastic cold laugh, not even bothering to hide the contempt in my eyes.
“Father?” I slowly rotated the ring on my thumb, my voice cold enough to freeze. “Allow me to remind you, Mr. Theron, that every expense of the Crimson family nowadays–including that expensive custom suit you’re wearing and that Cuban cigar you haven’t finished smoking–is sustained by my money.”
I leaned forward slightly, my gaze sharp as a blade. “A man who can’t even achieve financial independence, living like a parasite off his son’s success–where exactly do you get the nerve to act like a father in front of me?”
I stared directly into his eyes, seeing the panic flickering there, ruthlessly tearing away his last shred of dignity.
“As a father, you brought that illegitimate daughter Isla back to the pack, deceiving me into raising her like my own sister. Did you really think I knew nothing?”
I raised my hand, signaling Marcus behind me. Marcus walked forward expressionlessly and slammed a thick document envelope hard against Theron’s chest.
“Take a look at this–your ‘loving father‘ facade.” I questioned coldly. “What right do you have to slander my deceased mother?”
Theron fumbled to catch the envelope. When he pulled out the detailed DNA comparison report and investigation evidence, his face instantly turned ashen. The shame was fleeting, quickly replaced by furious embarrassment.
“You actually investigated me privately? I’m your father! How dare you…”

“If not for this investigation, how would I have known my father was so shameless.” I cut off his roar with sharp words. “All these years, you’ve been using me, haven’t you?”
Theron tried to force a defense, waving his arms as his voice trembled. “Isla has Crimson Moon Pack blood! She’s also your sister–raising her is a natural responsibility! Theodore, you’re too cold–blooded!”
“I’m cold–blooded?” I acted like I’d heard the joke of the century. “You’re the one who depends on me for everything, yet still expects my respect. Your shamelessness truly opens my eyes.”
My voice suddenly dropped low, carrying dangerous pressure. Logan stirred within me, his rage almost breaking through my rationality.
“Since we’re being honest, let’s discuss Isla’s so–called ‘k********g‘ incident.” I stared at him intently, dropping the bombshell. “That wasn’t an accident, was it? You had someone else do your dirty work.”
The air in the study seemed to freeze.
“Your purpose was simple–eliminate me, the ‘crippled‘ son, so Isla and that incompetent Ronan could take my place and control the entire Crimson Moon Pack.”
These words pierced through Theron’s disguise like a sword. I caught the flash of terror and guilt in his eyes. But he quickly raised his defenses again, shouting loudly. “You’re insane! You’re ruthless, not even sparing your own siblings! How could a wolf harm its own cubs? How could I possibly want my own son dead?!”
I watched his clumsy performance coldly, like watching a clown’s death throes on stage. “Save it.” I cut him off coldly, cruelly pointing out reality. “Even if I really died, with your and Ronan’s pathetic abilities, you couldn’t possibly defend the business empire and territory I built. The pack has internal factions everywhere. Grandfather Gideon isn’t completely senile yet, but he won’t last much longer. The branch families are eyeing the Alpha position greedily.”
I paused, my tone ominous. “Once you lose me, you father and son would be devoured by others until nothing remains.”
“You…!” Theron roared unwillingly, his face turning purple with rage. “Even if I’m not as capable as you, I gave you life! All your achievements are thanks to me!”
“This is the last time I’ll tolerate you.” I issued my final ultimatum. “If you can behave yourself, I might still guarantee you a comfortable old age. But if you continue scheming behind my back…”

I narrowed my eyes at him. “Don’t blame me for treating you like any other enemy.”
With that, I signaled Marcus to wheel me away.

Just as I turned, Logan let out a contemptuous growl in my consciousness. “That weak old fool doesn’t deserve to be our father. Theodore, if you hadn’t stopped me, I would have torn his throat out.”
“Calm down, Logan. He’s not worth dirtying our hands, and you’re just starting to recover.” I soothed the agitated wolf in my mind.
My wheelchair rolled across the floor as heavy crashes and Theron’s hysterical curses echoed behind me. I guessed he was mentally swearing to have Ronan replace me.
Too bad he’d never get that chance.
Back in my room, I dismissed Marcus. Sitting alone in my wheelchair, facing the cold moonlight outside, I remained silent for a long time. The pain of betrayal by blood relatives receded like a tide, leaving only desolate numbness.
After a while, I took out my phone. My finger hovered over the screen for a moment, wanting to contact Amelia. Just then, the screen lit up with her message.
**Amelia:** *I heard you dealt with Isla and Ronan pretty harshly? Is Theron furious?*
Seeing those words, my tense nerves inexplicably relaxed.
**Theodore:** *He’s indeed half–dead with rage. But I actually find it amusing.*
**Amelia:** *That’s right! When your leg heals and you appear before everyone, Theron will get angry again. These two times combined might send him straight to his grave. That’s what they call a “double whammy“!*
Looking at the text on screen, the gloom in my eyes completely dissipated as my lips involuntarily curved into a smile.
“What a calculating little devil,” I murmured softly, warmth flooding my heart.
(Amelia’s POV)
I lay on my bed, fingers dancing rapidly across my phone screen.
**Amelia:** *By the way, let me tell you something ridiculous. My neighbor Rowan’s son Rhys said he’d help a friend arrange a meeting about my novel’s copyright. Guess who that so–called “friend” turned out to be? Celine.*

Theodore replied almost instantly.
**Theodore:** *Oh? Small world indeed.*
Then he sent another combination: .

I looked at the screen and nearly burst out laughing. Was this still that cold Alpha? I knew he was expressing something like “what the hell” or “absolutely disgusting.”
**Amelia:** *I didn’t expect someone as serious as you to understand this kind of humor. That clown emoji was perfectly used.*
**Theodore:** *To avoid you finding me boring, I practiced beforehand.*
**Amelia:** *No need to practice. Just maintain that handsome face and sexy body–I’d be happy all day without you saying a word.*
After sending that message, I put down my phone and looked toward my desk. Several of my dangerous “pets” were running around there–little snake Green was coiled around the pen holder, a black widow spider was weaving under the desk lamp, and a white scorpion was brandishing its pincers triumphantly.
This was my little hobby. Though most people found them terrifying, I thought they were
cute.
Suddenly, my wolf Ava rolled her eyes lazily in my mind.
“Amy, could you please throw these disgusting crawlers far away?” Her voice was full of disgust. “Looking at them kills my appetite. Even though they’re silver and black like us, they completely lack the fluffy beauty of wolves. They’re visual pollution.”
I laughed and responded mentally: “Don’t be so picky, Ava. They’re good helpers protecting
us.”
I gently shielded the playful little creatures, preventing them from falling off the desk. The room was filled with a relaxed atmosphere as moonlight streamed through the window. Even facing an invitation from someone as annoying as Celine, my mood was surprisingly good.
