Chapter 84: Can Theodore’s Legs Be Healed?!
(Rhys’s POV)
Caleb’s impatient roar cut through my thoughts like a blade. He leaned out of the Ferrari’s window, his face twisted with arrogance.
“What the hell are you waiting for? Move your ass and lead the way already!”
Celine sat in the passenger seat, maintaining that fake elegant smile I was beginning to despise. She tilted her head slightly, as if addressing a servant.
“Rhys, we’re ready to follow you now. Please drive ahead.”
I stared at this arrogant pair through my windshield. The casual way they expected me to act like their personal chauffeur made my stomach turn. These people had no idea who they were talking to.
I rolled down my window and met Caleb’s glare with cold indifference.
“Doesn’t that fancy car of yours come with GPS navigation?”
Caleb’s face flushed red. “What did you just say to me?”
“I said if you can’t even find your way around the city, maybe you shouldn’t be going anywhere to embarrass yourselves.”
Before either of them could respond, I rolled my window back up and hit the gas. My SUV pulled away smoothly, leaving them behind.
In my rearview mirror, I watched the bright yellow Ferrari’s engine roar to life. Caleb was clearly furious. The car shot forward like an angry wasp, speeding past me and disappearing down the road.
Good riddance.
(Rhys’s POV)
I kept my speed steady and pulled out my phone to call Amelia. She picked up on the second ring.
“Hey, Rhys. What’s up?”

“I need to tell you something about today’s meeting.” I got straight to the point. “Celine is my friend. She’s the one who asked me to arrange this meeting with Lily.”
Silence stretched between us for a moment.
“I also need to ask you something,” I continued. “Is it true that the Stone family brought you back to fulfill that old mate contract? Are they really planning to use you as a sacrifice?”
Amelia’s laugh was light, almost carefree. “Yeah, that’s exactly what they’re planning. But don’t worry about it.”
“Don’t worry?” My grip tightened on the steering wheel. “Amelia, this is serious.”
“I know it is. I’m only going to this meeting today because I promised you I would. But I’m not going to let the Stone family push me around. Trust me on that.”
Relief flooded through me, but guilt quickly followed. “I owe you an apology. I was completely fooled by Celine’s social media presence. All those posts about being a noble and kind pack heir… I actually thought she had depth.”
“What changed your mind?”
“Just now, because my car isn’t expensive enough for their taste, Celine let Caleb humiliate me without saying a single word in my defense. She just sat there with that fake smile.”
I felt sick thinking about it. “I almost got you involved in this mess because I misjudged someone’s character. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t blame yourself,” Amelia said gently. “At least now you see her true colors.”
I let out a bitter laugh. “You’re right. I’ll admit it – I originally added her contact because she was pretty. I never imagined someone could be so shallow underneath.”
“Pretty faces can hide ugly hearts,” Amelia said. “You learned that lesson without any real damage done.”
Her kindness made my guilt even worse. How had I been so blind?
(Amelia’s POV)
After hanging up, I settled back into the leather seat of Theodore’s car. The irony of this whole situation wasn’t lost on me.
Celine desperately wanted to climb the social ladder. She craved the title of Luna in a top–tier pack. But her shallow thinking and vanity kept making her miss real opportunities.

In werewolf high society, the Crimson family, Calder family, and Blackwood family were the true elite bloodlines. The Stone family was just second–tier nobility at best.
Yet Celine had rejected Theodore because she saw him as disabled and unfit to inherit the Alpha King position. Now she was dismissing Rhys because he kept a low profile about being the Calder family’s hidden heir.
The girl was digging her own grave with every choice she made.
Ava stirred in my mind, letting out a lazy snort of amusement. “That stupid woman can’t tell real gold from fool’s gold.”
I smiled to myself. Celine’s path would only get narrower from here.
(Amelia’s POV)
I pushed Theodore’s wheelchair through the entrance of the upscale restaurant we’d chosen for the meeting. The place had that quiet elegance that screamed expensive without being flashy.
Celine and Caleb were already there, seated at a prominent table in the main dining area. They’d clearly arrived early to make an impression.
The moment Celine spotted Theodore in the doorway, I watched her eyes light up like she’d just spotted a winning lottery ticket. The calculating look in her gaze was so obvious it was almost embarrassing.
Caleb grabbed her arm and whispered something urgent in her ear, probably trying to remind her that she was supposed to be avoiding Theodore. But Celine ignored him completely.
She stood up immediately and walked toward us with that practiced smile of hers.
“Theodore! What a wonderful surprise.” Her voice dripped with fake sweetness. “Are you here
for dinner too?”
I caught the flash of jealousy in her eyes when she looked at me, even though she was trying
to hide it.
Theodore’s response was ice–cold. “I’m here accompanying my Lia to meet an old friend.”
Celine’s smile faltered for just a second. Then she forced it back into place and shifted
tactics.
“That’s so sweet of you.” Her gaze dropped to Theodore’s legs, covered by a blanket. “How

are you feeling these days? Any improvement with your… condition?”
Theodore patted his thigh lightly, and I heard pride creep into his voice.
“Actually, I’m recovering wonderfully. Amelia is treating me with ancient herbal remedies blessed by the Moon Goddess herself.”
He paused, letting that sink in before delivering the knockout punch.
“In less than three months, my damaged wolf soul and legs will be completely healed.”

Celine’s eyes went wide with shock. She stared at me like I’d just claimed I could raise the dead.
“That’s… that’s impossible,” she stammered.
Theodore’s golden eyes glittered with barely concealed mockery as he studied her stunned
expression.
“What’s wrong, Celine? Aren’t you happy to hear about my recovery?”
