Chapter 86: It Must Be Amelia’s Conspiracy!

Chapter 86: It Must Be Amelia’s Conspiracy!

(Amelia’s POV)

Claim

I pushed open the door of the private dining room and walked in with a calm expression. The moment they saw me, the expressions on Ethan and Celine’s faces froze instantly. Shock and unease intertwined in their eyes.

They obviously hadn’t expected this situation. They hadn’t imagined I would walk straight toward Rhys and sit down in the empty seat beside him.

I looked at their stunned faces and said in a relaxed tone, I’m the friend Rhys mentioned. I’m also today’s appointment.

Just then, Marcus pushed Theodore in his wheelchair into the room.

Celine finally snapped out of her shock. She whirled toward Rhys, her voice sharp as she demanded, Is the famous author Lilyyou mentioned really Amelia?

Rhys nodded, his tone firm as he confirmed it.

Celine’s face instantly turned pale. She couldn’t accept this fact.

Lilyis a powerful healer!she screamed. Amelia is just a shewolf who grew up in some remote pack. She didn’t even finish high school!

Celine shook her head repeatedly. Her voice was full of disappointment and doubt as she kept asking Rhys if he was mistaken.

How could that crude Amelia possibly write such profound works that are obviously based on personal experience?

My wolf Ava let out a disdainful snort in my mind. She mocked Celine for being the kind of fool who only judged strength by appearance and status. Completely blind.

Caleb couldn’t help but let out a harsh laugh. He pointed at Rhys and loudly accused him of being a liar. He thought this was a show Rhys and I had put on together to fool them.

Rhys’s expression darkened. He said coldly, I’ve done my best to make the connection. Whether you believe it or not is up to you.

I remained completely unmoved. I elegantly poured myself a glass of water and said slowly, If it weren’t for Rhys’s sake, I wouldn’t waste my time meeting you people.

I mocked their attitude toward asking for favors.

Caleb angrily slammed the table and cursed that I was acting. He absolutely refused to believe I was that mysterious bestselling author and Shadow Healer.

Celine suddenly remembered what I had said at the hospital last night. I had said I could make Lilynot sell the copyright to Starlight Media.

Celine had a sudden realization. She immediately accused this of being my conspiracy. She claimed I had known all along that they wouldn’t meet the real Lily today. This was all to

humiliate them.

I shrugged and curved my lips into a mocking smile. I responded ambiguously, Since I am Lily‘, of course I have the right to decide who to sell the copyright to.

Looking at the hesitation in Ethan’s eyes, I knew the seed of doubt had been planted. Obviously Ethan was already beginning to waver.

Caleb completely lost his patience. He shot to his feet, the chair scraping against the floor

with a harsh sound.

He roared that this was a trap. He was convinced Amelia had wanted to destroy them all

along.

I looked at the furious Caleb and smiled as I praised him for finally being smart for once. I admitted that seeing them being played like fools did indeed make me feel pleased.

Caleb was convinced I had admitted to setting them up. He angrily slammed the table again and threatened to make me pay the price:

After speaking, he turned and stormed out of the private dining room. The heavy sound of the slamming door echoed in the hallway, venting his impotent rage.

(Rhys’s POV)

Ethan left with a grim face, saying nothing as he got up. Celine looked at me with disappointment, then followed him out.

Watching their retreating figures, my eyes were cold. I turned to Amelia and remarked that her biological brothers had no familial affection for her whatsoever.

Amelia shook her head. Her tone became somewhat gentler as she said it wasn’t entirely like that. At least her adoptive parents, Jaxon and Seraphina, were very good to her.

When she mentioned this couple, Amelia’s expression became sincere and warm.

Hearing this, my tense nerves relaxed slightly. I was glad she wasn’t completely isolated in that cold family.

Theodore, who had remained silent, coughed twice. I noticed this Alpha in the wheelchair was watching me, so I asked about his identity.

Theodore smiled slightly and introduced himself as Amelia’s fiancé. He said he had come today to meet her friend.

Then Theodore made a shocking revelation about my true identity. He said I was the heir from one of the oldest packs, the Calder Pack. The runaway heir who didn’t want to inherit the family business and left home.

I was stunned and instinctively looked at Amelia, asking if she had revealed it.

Amelia quickly shook her head in denial.

Theodore just smiled calmly and said this was basic insight for an Alpha King’s heir.
