Chapter 89: Caleb’s Survival is Uncertain
Chapter 89: Caleb’s Survival is Uncertain
(Marcus’s POV)
Marcus gripped the steering wheel tighter as he followed Amelia’s white Porsche through the city streets. The car ahead was moving fast, too fast, heading toward the more isolated sections of the highway.
Something was wrong. Very wrong.
He reached for his phone and dialed Theodore’s number. The call connected immediately.
“Alpha, what’s your status?” Marcus asked, his voice tense.
Theodore’s voice came through clear and unnaturally calm. “The brake system has completely failed. We cannot slow down.”
Marcus nearly swerved off the road. “What? Alpha, you need to-”
“Marcus.” Theodore’s tone was steady, almost amused. “Since Amelia told me to trust her, I will trust her unconditionally.”
“Are you insane?” Marcus shouted into the phone. “The brakes are gone and you’re talking like this is some kind of game!”
Theodore chuckled softly. “If we crash, call an ambulance immediately. That’s an order.”
The line went dead.
Marcus stared at his phone in disbelief. His knuckles turned white as he gripped the wheel harder.
“This Alpha has completely lost his mind since meeting that woman,” he muttered.
But Theodore’s final instruction hit him like a sledgehammer. If we crash. Not if something goes wrong. If we crash.
This wasn’t an accident at all. This was Amelia’s revenge plan. She was going to deliberately cause a car accident.

Caleb checked his rearview mirror again. The white Porsche was getting closer, much closer
than it should be.
A sense of impending doom washed over him, but he forced himself to stay calm.
“Fine,” he snarled through gritted teeth. “If that crazy woman wants to crash into me, so be it. We’ll die together.”
Maybe this was even better. He could finally get rid of this mongrel who kept bullying Celine and disrupting their family harmony. Once Amelia was dead, no one would cause them trouble anymore.
“Come on then,” he whispered to himself. “Let’s see who dies first.”
But five minutes later, Amelia’s car had caught up to his Ferrari. Through his mirror, he watched in horror as the white sports car showed no signs of slowing down.
It was coming straight for him.
Caleb slammed the accelerator, trying to escape, but it was too late.
The massive impact hit his car like a freight train. The world spun violently as his Ferrari flipped end over end like a toy across the highway.
A sharp ringing filled his ears. His hearing vanished instantly.
As darkness consumed him, his final thought was crystal clear: Amelia did this on purpose!
How did she know where I was?
But he would never get the chance to think about it again.
(Amelia’s POV)
Amelia controlled the steering wheel expertly, using her werewolf reflexes to dodge obstacles on the road with graceful precision.
She glanced at Theodore in the passenger seat with a teasing smile.
“Theodore, aren’t you afraid I might lose control and take you to meet the Moon Goddess with me?”
Theodore put away his phone, his golden eyes filled with indulgent affection.
“You’re too calculated to take unnecessary risks. If you weren’t absolutely certain, you wouldn’t be doing this.”

Amelia’s lips curved with satisfaction. She checked the location Silas had sent to her phone. She was very close to Caleb’s position now.
Her wolf Ava roared excitedly in her mind. “Let him taste real fear! Crush him!”
Amelia soothed Ava’s battle spirit with a cold smile. When Caleb saw the car he had sabotaged coming for him, his expression would be priceless.
Too bad it was too late for regrets now.
The impact caused Amelia’s car to flip as well, but thanks to her precise angle control, the driver’s cabin remained intact. Amelia only sustained minor cuts and bruises.
She immediately turned to check on Theodore. “Are you okay?”
Theodore unbuckled his seatbelt and calmly assessed his condition. “Minor concussion and some scrapes. I’m fine.”
A sly glint flashed in Amelia’s eyes. “Not bad driving skills, right?”
Theodore nodded in agreement.
Amelia lowered her voice. “To make them pay the price, we need to make this a big deal. I need you to pretend your injuries are serious so the Crimson family will demand justice for Caleb’s actions.”
Theodore understood immediately. “Whatever you want to do, I’ll cooperate.”
Amelia pulled a special syringe from her sleeve. The drug inside could temporarily suppress werewolf metabolism and healing abilities.
She injected it precisely into Theodore’s neck vein, then administered it to herself.
Their consciousness quickly faded as they both fell into deep unconsciousness.
(Amelia’s POV)
When Amelia woke up, she found herself in a hospital room that reeked of disinfectant. It was late at night outside the window.
Seraphina was sitting by her bedside with tears in her eyes. When she saw Amelia wake up,

she excitedly called for Jaxon.
“Mom, Dad,” Amelia called weakly, struggling to sit up.
Seraphina quickly helped support her. “Don’t move too much, sweetheart.”
Amelia touched her throbbing forehead with confusion. “Is this a hospital?”
Seraphina nodded through her tears. “Theodore’s assistant called us about the terrible accident. You’ve been unconscious for most of the day. We were so scared.”
“Someone is watching over me,” Amelia said softly, then asked with feigned anxiety, “How is Theodore?”
Jaxon’s face darkened. “He’s in the room next door. His condition is also very bad. He’s still
unconscious.”
Amelia knew Theodore should be waking up soon, but to maintain their act, his disabled legs would provide the perfect excuse.
She tried to get out of bed to check on him, but Seraphina gently pressed her back down.
“You need to take care of yourself first.”
Amelia reluctantly lay back down to avoid worrying them further.
After Jaxon left to handle some matters, Seraphina asked quietly, “Do you know who was in the car you hit?”
Amelia feigned ignorance. “Who?”
Seraphina lowered her voice, her tone complex. “It was Caleb. His car exploded. You know how even wolves fear fire. He’s badly injured and still in the emergency room. The doctors said they’re not sure if he’ll survive. Even if he’s lucky enough to live, he might never wake up.“
