Chapter 91: They Brought This Upon Themselves
Chapter 91: They Brought This Upon Themselves
(Author’s POV)
At eight o’clock in the evening, the hospital room door was gently pushed open. Seraphina walked in carrying a thermal food container.

She had brought stewed beef and mashed potatoes that she had asked the maid to prepare carefully. While arranging the food, Seraphina whispered to Amelia that although Caleb had been rescued, he was still in a deep coma. Whether he could wake up depended entirely on
whether his wolf could awaken.
Amelia nodded calmly and said indifferently, “I hope he can wake up.”
She casually asked about Caleb’s room. Seraphina told her it was VIP room 712, but immediately gripped Amelia’s hand nervously.
“Sweetheart, you must not go visit him,” Seraphina warned. “Adrian and Livia hate you to the bone right now. They’re convinced you’re the one who crashed into Caleb. If you go, it will only escalate the conflict.”
“I won’t cause trouble for myself, Mom,” Amelia replied obediently.
But in her heart, she let out a cold laugh. *Ava, my wolf, growled in her mind: “That scumbag better pray he can wake up, otherwise how can he feel the pain of losing everything?“*
Amelia soothed the restless Ava. She did have a plan, one that would make Caleb see clearly how foolish he was. But this required him to be alive.
Amelia picked up the spoon and took a sip of soup. Suddenly she looked up at Seraphina, her eyes carrying a hint of testing.
“Mom, do you think I’m a curse? Ever since I returned to the Pack, the family has had no
peace…”

Hearing this, Seraphina immediately put down the fruit knife in her hand. She looked at Amelia seriously.
“Amelia, look at me. Never have such thoughts. You are my daughter, the true Alpha daughter of the Stone family. If it weren’t for Celine’s mother’s crimes back then, you should have been the princess cherished by everyone.”
Seraphina’s voice choked up a little. She said she knew that although Amelia appeared strong

on the surface, she still longed to be accepted in her heart.

“The family isn’t in chaos,” Seraphina continued firmly. “Jaxon and I are both fine. On the contrary, because of you, our lives have become complete. The chaos is with Adrian’s family. None of this is your fault. It’s their greed and arrogance. They brought this upon themselves.”
Amelia felt a warm current surge through her heart listening to these words. She lowered her head and ate the remaining food in large bites.
Seraphina watched her with both heartache and relief. She touched her head and said that since Adrian’s family didn’t know how to cherish this daughter, she and Jaxon would give Amelia double the love. She told her not to be afraid, that both Dad and Mom would protect her.
Ethan stood by the window of the hospital room, his gaze coldly fixed on Celine in the garden below. The blonde woman was on the phone. Although he couldn’t hear the content, he could feel the anxiety radiating from her.
A strong suspicion rose in Ethan’s heart. When Celine had accused Amelia outside the operating room earlier, she had completely skipped over the key fact that Caleb had actively gone to cause trouble for Amelia.
Ethan couldn’t help but ask himself: Was she protecting Caleb, or was she trying to push all responsibility onto Amelia to cover up something?
Suddenly, a memory struck him. Amelia had mentioned that before her return, someone had hired Rogues to try to kill her. The mastermind behind it was very likely Celine.
Ethan remembered he had already asked Caleb to investigate this matter, but had received no
results so far.
At this moment, Adrian pushed the door open and walked over. His expression was grave as he asked, “Ethan, is everything Celine said just now true?”
Ethan was silent for a moment, then admitted, “The conflict at the meeting was real.”
But he hesitated, then decided to tell the truth. “However, when we were preparing to leave, Caleb didn’t come with us. He clearly stated he wanted to stay and settle accounts with Amelia.”
“Enough!” Adrian immediately interrupted him, his tone stern. “You must keep this part to yourself. As long as the earlier facts hold up, that’s sufficient. The part about Caleb actively provoking must absolutely not be known by Patriarch Alaric.”

Ethan looked at his father’s face full of calculation and instantly understood his intention. Adrian wanted to preserve Caleb’s image as the “perfect victim.” He absolutely couldn’t let their side appear to be in the wrong in this incident.
Ethan felt disgusted, but finally nodded and agreed not to say more.
Not long after Seraphina left, Ethan’s phone suddenly vibrated. Seeing Amelia’s name flashing
on the screen, he frowned and answered the call, lowering his voice to growl angrily.
“How dare you call me?”
“If
you don’t want to die from poison, immediately clear the people from Caleb’s room,” Amelia’s voice was cold and direct, carrying an unquestionable command.
Ethan was stunned, then questioned, “What do you want to do?”
“Just go see how miserable my dear second brother is,” Amelia sneered. “Or would you prefer
I treat you the same way I treated Caleb? Don’t forget, next week’s antidote is still in my hands.”
With that, the phone was hung up directly.
Ethan gripped the phone tightly, his knuckles white from the force. That damn woman! But thinking of the poison lurking in his body, he had to compromise.
He returned to the room and looked at his mother Livia guarding the bedside. He put on a concerned expression and persuaded her.
“Mom, you’ve been watching all day. Go to the coffee shop downstairs to eat something and rest. I’ll watch here.”
Livia was indeed exhausted. Under Ethan’s repeated persuasion, she finally got up and left the room.
Just five minutes later, the room’s window was silently pushed open. Ethan watched in shock as Amelia climbed in like an agile cat, her black windbreaker fluttering in the night wind.
“You…” Ethan was about to speak when Amelia walked directly to Caleb’s bed.
She pulled out what was actually a thin silver needle from her pocket. That was a tool that only the top healers on this continent dared to use.
Under Ethan’s horrified gaze, Amelia unhesitatingly inserted the silver needle into Caleb’s head.

Ethan finally snapped out of his shock and rushed forward, lowering his voice to roar, “Amelia! What did you just do to him!”
