Chapter 121
Talia’s POV
Everyone turns to look at me. The officer. Aires. Athena. Even Diana, though her expression is pure venom.
I speak slowly and deliberately, letting each word land with weight. “Officer, this woman knowingly filed a false police report against me. I am Aeson’s biological mother. Her actions have damaged my reputation and violated public order laws.”
The officer nods, listening carefully.
“I can’t let this slide. If she faces no consequences, what’s to stop her from doing this again? Next time, she could disrupt a performance, a concert, something important. I need assurances.”

The officer’s tone remains professional. “Mrs. Perseus, would you like to pursue charges? Filing a false report can be handled as a minor infraction or a primary offense. If you choose not to pursue it, we can let it go. But if you want to press the matter, there will be consequences.”
“Yes.” My voice is cool and steady. “I’ll cooperate with the investigation as I have seen the description of the kidnappers holding my son hostage. But first, I want this lady to publicly apologize for slandering me—”

“In your dreams, Talia!” Diana’s shrick cuts through the air like shattered glass.
I don’t even glance at her. I continue calmly, “If she refuses to cooperate, I reserve the right to pursue all legal actions available, including a formal lawsuit.”
The officer turns to Diana, his expression growing more pointed.
“Ma’am, you really should apologize. If this lady is a public

figure, and I understand she’s a musician, your actions could be considered quite serious. This could even lead to detention. And if it goes to court, you’ll likely lose unless the plaintiff agrees to settle.”
Diana looks like she’s swallowed poison. “Apologize to her?” Her voice rises to an incredulous shriek. “I’m her husband’s mother! I’m like her own mother! Apologize? Never!”
I keep my voice calm and reasonable. “Mrs. Perseus, as you’ve pointed out repeatedly, Aires and I are getting divorced. Once that’s final, we’ll be strangers. You’ll have no connection to me at all.”
Aires steps forward, finally finding his voice. “Talia, she’s still your mother–in–law as long as we’re married. Do you have to make things so difficult?”
I turn to him, letting him see the full contempt in my eyes. “Mr.

Perseus, she’s your mother, not mine. You said nothing when she tried to have me arrested. You stood there like a statue. Now that she’s facing consequences, suddenly you have a tongue in your mouth?”
I shake my head slowly.
“You’re not even as morally upright as your mother. At least she understands that actions have consequences. I’m simply following the lesson she taught me. Is there something wrong
with that?”
I pause, then add, “Of course, if you don’t want Mrs. Perseus to apologize, you can do it for her. Just say, ‘My mother wrongly accused Ms. Perseus, and I’m apologizing on her behalf. I hope you can forgive us.‘

The room goes absolutely silent.
Diana’s face cycles through colors — white, red, purple. Her

finger shakes as she points at me, but I cut her off before she can explode.
“Mrs. Perseus, the police are still here. If you say something insulting now, a simple apology won’t be enough. If this goes to court, I’ll request a public trial.”
Aires’s jaw tightens. “Talia, don’t push too far.”

I meet his gaze without flinching. “It wasn’t too far when your mother accused me of kidnapping? If you were so worried about things going too far, you should have stopped her. Instead, you stood there like a coward.”
I turn back to Diana.
“Now. Apologize. Publicly. Or we do this the hard
way.”
The silence stretches, heavy and absolute.
Diana’s lips press together so tightly they nearly disappear. Her hands shake at her sides. Finally, through clenched teeth and
with visible humiliation, she forces out the words.
“Talia… I’m sorry. I misunderstood you.”
Her head is lowered, eyes fixed on the floor. The words are barely audible.
My response is cool and detached. “Let’s put this matter to rest. I just hope that from now on, you think twice before acting. Unless you want to drag the Perseus family and the Perseus Group down with you.”
Diana’s apology still echoes in the air, but forgiveness isn’t something I’m offering tonight. I’m not that generous. I’m not that foolish.

Aires‘ POV
I stand outside Acson’s room, watching through the small window until I’m certain he’s calm. Mom finally agreed to leave after much persuasion, and now I push the door open.
Aeson’s head snaps up the moment he hears it. His eyes search the doorway with an eagerness that makes something twist in my chest.
When he sees it’s me, the light in his face dies, replaced by clear, unmistakable disappointment.
He was hoping for someone else,
“Aeson.” I keep my voice neutral. “What happened?”
He’s quiet for a long moment, looking down at his hands. Then he lifts his head.
“Dad, can you please not divorce Mom?”
My eyes narrow. A faint, cold smile touches my lips. “Did your mother put you up to saying that?”
Of course. Imema was right–this has Talia’s fingerprints all over it. Using our son, manipulating his emotions.
Agson looks confused, startled by my response. “No! Nom didn’s

tell me anything. I just don’t want my parents to get divorced. That’s all.”
“I’ll ask you again.” My voice drops, the authority of an Alpha pressing down. “Did you sneak out to find your mother?”
He shrinks under my gaze. “Yes.”
“And who told you she was at the amusement park?”
Aeson mumbles, “I saw her there….”
I nod slowly, I suspected as much, Talia didn’t tell him directly— she’s too smart for that. She probably lured him away, tempting him with something or the other. He loves her food, after all she used to make all sorts of delicacies at home, insisting that she has somehow made the recipe healthier than the restaurants. But she’s using my child against me now.
And that is completely unacceptable.
“Don’t worry.” I keep my voice cool, controlled. “Your mother won’t divorce me.”
Aeson’s eyes widen with relief, but before he can respond, a soft knock sounds at the door.
Talia steps inside.
