Alpha’s Discarded Luna

Chapter 206

Talia’s POV

A few minutes later, Raymond calls back.

Robin has been coming home on time every day.His voice is calm, reassuring. He hasn’t been anywhere else, so you do not need to worry.

I feel a wave of relief wash over me. My shoulders drop. I did not realize how tense I was until now. For a moment, I hesitate. But then, I realise that if not to Raymond, I can’t say it to anyone

else.

Only then do I bring up Robin’s recent injuries.

Raymond is silent for a moment. Then he laughs, easy and unbothered. I will go home tonight to check on that little brat, and ask him what is going on.He pauses.

But don’t worry about him. He is not like other kids. His emotional resilience is strong.

I frown. I am worried he is being bullied by other kids.

After all my time around Raymond and his son, I understand his approach. He is very handsoff with Robin. Never interferes With the kidssquabbles or fights. He has said more than once

understanding of the world. If parents step in every time their child is picked on, the child will always rely on them. I can understand that Robin is the future heir of Capaldi Group. Probably, Raymond feels that if he can’t even handle issues with other kids, and comes crying back every time, he is not fit to inherit the company.

This is part of why Raymond has always let Robin handle situations with Aeson alone. Even when Robin got hurt, even when I wanted to step in, Raymond never speaks up.

His parenting style has its pros and cons. In terms of raising an heir, it is effective. But emotionally, it can come off as cold and distant.

Hearing that I am worried about Robin being bullied, Raymond lets out a chuckle. Talia, it is always Robin who is bullying

others. There is pride in his voice. No one has ever been able to bully him. That little brat has got some serious fighting spirit.

I can feel that Raymond is just trying to reassure me now, so I do not push the issue. Instead, I say, If anything comes up with Robin, let me know.

Every month, Raymond makes sure to transfer money into my account, as our initially agreed payment for taking care of Robin. I have told him countless times I do not need the money, and that I genuinely enjoy having Robin around. But Raymond 9

Robin’s POV

I walk into school and notice them immediately. A group of kids stand a few feet away, pointing at me again, whispering something in hushed voices.

When our eyes meet, they look away fast. Some parents see me coming, and show panic and fear on their faces. They grab their children’s arms and pull them aside, like I am something contagious.

The kids who used to play with me at recess keep their distance now. No one says even hi, or waves at me. But it’s nothing new anymore, and I don’t even feel sad.

I glance at them for a second, then keep walking. I go to my

classroom.

The teachers see me come in. They exchange these looks of pity, like I don’t deserve to be pushed aside. But still, no one says anything to me. No one even comes near me.

This has been going on for days: teachers, kids, not even the helper staff- absolutely none talks to me.

No one gets close to me, and I sit at my desk, cut off from

everyone.

Acson walks in, and his eyes find me immediately. I am sitting 19

Robin! He crosses his arms. Did everyone stop talking to you because they see your true colors?

He is enjoying this, I can see it clear on his face.

I look up at him for a second, and then I look back down at my book.

He stands there, waiting for my reply, but I don’t say anything. After a moment, I hear him walk away.

At lunch, I eat alone. Then I walk back to class by myself.

A small hand grabs my arm and pulls me into a corner. Flora, she used to be my friend from class.

Earlier, she too used to follow me around like a shadow. Lately, she has not been able to get close.

Robin! She glances around to make sure no one is watching. Do you know why everyone is suddenly ignoring you?

I wait, shaking my head.

She lowers her voice. My dad told me not to talk to you. He said Aeson’s dad has made it clear. Anyone who hangs out with you or talks to you is going against the Perseus family.
