Alpha's Regret After the Divorce by Christina novel Chapter 171

I fought to rise, a sharp sting radiating through my ankle with every movement. Limping painfully, I pushed myself forward, drawn toward the faint echoes of shouting that drifted through the dense forest around me.

“Andy!” I called out, my voice trembling but determined, hoping it would cut through the thick canopy of trees. The cool night air filled my lungs, crisp and refreshing, as I strained to catch any sign of a reply.

Then, faint but unmistakable, came Andy’s voice. Relief surged through me like a tidal wave—they had escaped the cave alive. Thank God. If only I could reach them…

Summoning every ounce of strength, I attempted to quicken my pace, gritting my teeth against the relentless pain in my ankle. Just a little further… just a little more—

Suddenly, before I could react, a powerful presence closed in behind me. Strong arms wrapped around my body with an unyielding grip. One moment I was hobbling forward, the next I was swept off my feet entirely.

“What the—” I gasped, instinctively clutching at broad shoulders to steady myself.

My heart nearly stopped when I looked up and found Rocco’s face inches from mine. His expression was hard, resolute, and without a word, he held me tightly against his chest and dashed away from the direction of Andy’s voice.

“Put me down!” I demanded, struggling fiercely, pounding my fists against his chest. “What are you doing?”

Rocco ignored my protests completely, his eyes locked ahead as he sprinted through the forest with astonishing speed. The trees blurred past us as I fought against his iron grip, desperation mounting with every step.

“This is kidnapping!” I shouted, twisting and kicking despite the sharp pain in my injured ankle. “Stop right now, Alpha Blackwood!”

He said nothing, his jaw clenched tightly, arms unrelenting as he continued running. I could feel the raw power in his body, his strength rendering my resistance almost laughable.

Behind us, the voices grew louder—Andy and the team were closing in. Rocco’s ear twitched at the sound, and suddenly he shifted direction, accelerating even faster. The pursuing voices faded once again into the night.

“You dare take me?” I hissed through clenched teeth, my voice trembling with fury. “After everything you’ve done, you have the nerve to do this to me?”
