Chapter 113
Noah clings to my arm, “Good evening to everyone, I’m sure it was lovely meeting you, I hope we don’t meet often.” She says, “Not all of you that is.”
“Pleasure,” Rowan says.
“Always,” she winks.
Kingston smiles at her again, and I swear I will punch him if he even thinks of touching her. “Thanks again for following us here.”
“Send me flowers,” she tells him. “No less than forty stems to thank me, I like everything big.”
“My Noah,” I warn.
“Kidding,” she giggles. “Well, unless you want to. Who am I to refuse flowers?”
“Come on,” I pull her towards the door.
“You’ve got some explaining to do about this marriage,” she hums, “Why the hell did you marry him, my Ellie?”
Pretty sure he heard that,” I say, looking back at Kingston one last time before I close the door behind us. “And I can explain. It’s a mess, I know.”
“Are you pregnant?” She asks, pointing me to the car Rowan used.
“What?” I choke out.
“Did you have a one-night stand with him and had to marry for the child?”
“No, not pregnant.” I laugh. Definitely not, my period was right on time this month. “Fate did me one better, he’s my mate.”
“What? You’re joking!”
“Nope,” I sigh, sliding into the driver’s seat of Rowan’s car.
Noah settles in the passenger seat, strapping her seat belt on because she knows I don’t drive unless it’s on. “My Ellie, only you would end up mated to the asshole who broke your heart.” She sighs, “How the hell did you even take him back, the timeliness is too short a gravel for what he did.”
“Actually, I didn’t take him back,” I explain, making sure she knows I didn’t let years of progress go down the drain. “I was going to run, but he stopped me, marked me and I couldn’t escape because he would track me down anywhere.”
She gasps, “How did Gamma Hartley take it?”
“Not well,” I sigh. “But he was fine after I gave in.”
“My, oh my, this is horrible. You’re basically a child bride.”
I laugh at that, only with her do I laugh this much and right now, I feel like the goddess did me a solid, it almost makes up for the hell of the last few weeks. “I’m an adult.”
“You were forced just like one.”
“Not exactly forced.”

“You just said, he marked you.” She reminds me. “Was that consensual, baby?”
My thoughts stutter, “Well…”
“So that’s a no?” She drags on, “Great, I don’t like the guy. But, I did think he was thoughtful for ambushing me at the airport to surprise you, but this is fucked.” She heavily sighs, her voice defeated. “Do Alpha’s get off on forcing women?”
“He doesn’t force me, not…”
“Why did you marry you?” She shifts, her gaze burning into me. “Wasn’t he dating Miss Thing back there, and why was she in your house? Are you guys in some throuple?”
Throuple? Worse.
“It’s a packhouse, my Noah. She’s lived there for over five years, they were going to get married too but I ruined it.”
“How?”
“By being his fared mate,” I swallow. “His father wanted him to marry me, so we did just that.”
“Oh, so the big bad Alpha can’t stand up his daddy?”
“He can, but this….well, he had to choose between her and the pack, so he chose the pack. The pack always comes first to him.”
“I don’t think so,” she tsks. “She should be nursing her broken heart not giggling in your house and asking guests who they are.”
“He’s in love with her, my Noah.” I sigh. “There’s nothing I can do about that, even if I wanted her gone, she wouldn’t be gone. Out of sight won’t equal out of mind, he will always fall right into her trap.”
Noah scoffs, “So you’re just out here sharing dick with the little bitch?”
“No,” I shake my head. I haven’t felt him with her in a while, not like before. He really kept his word on being loyal. “Well, not anymore, it-”
