Chapter 119

“That this place makes her miserable,” she winces. “She does get a little quiet sometimes that’s just on the rare two days a month, but come on. Don’t we all?”
I smile and I nod, popping fruit in my mouth.
Alpha Kingston clears his throat, “Miss Fren?”
“Noah,” she corrects him. “If you call me Miss Fren, my Ellie will have the wrong idea.”
“Why do you call her your Ellie?” I ask, another thing I’ve been curious about, and they don’t seem to be consciously doing it.
She stares at me, unblinking, like the answer is supposed to be obvious. “Because she’s mine,” she says. “I claimed her my first day of school, nobody would have rolled me a blunt when I was having a breakdown in the ladies’ room.”
“Blunt?” Alpha Kingston chokes out.
“Yes, she does wonders with it.”
He frowns, “Aeliana smokes?”
“No,” Noah snarls, “Wouldn’t you know if your wife smokes?”
“Yeah, Alpha Kingston,” I turn to him. “Wouldn’t you?”
“You don’t have to know if she smokes, but get the basics down.” Noah sucks her teeth. “Her moods, her favourite flowers, and which angle she likes to be bent over at.”
“Wow,” I choke on my watermelon, coughing. She’s…yeah, I don’t have the right words for it, and neither does Alpha Kingston.
Thankfully, Aeliana saves us, calling out to Noah. Her voice reaches us before she does. “My Noah.”
“That’s me.” She grins widely.
“Of course, have fun. Lovely having you.” I say, picking up my magazine again.
“Oh hey, I’m on that.” She says, rising from her seat.
I check on the back of it. She’s truly there, barely dressed, and looking insanely beautiful. “It appears you are,” I
nod.
“My ex-boyfriend’s wife owns the company, and she loves me, total doll, she loves featuring me.”
“My Noah,” Aeliana calls again, this time standing by the door. I can’t help but notice the stunning dress on her, a floral version of the dress Noah is wearing on the back of my magazine.
Noah gasps, “Oh, my, oh my, you look incredibly hot.”
“Nice dress, Luna Aeliana,” I tell her, but her eyes are on her husband now. Her husband who appears frozen in time.
“Thanks,” she says, running her hands over it. “Noah got it for me.”
“It’s hot, don’t you think so? Alpha?”

He nods, eyeing her up and down.
Noah laughs, pointing at Aeliana’s face. “Her eyes are up here, Alpha. And I will bring her back in one piece, with all her clothes on.”
“That’s not worrying at all.”
AELIANA
I’ve seen more of Mooncrest over the last couple of days thanks to Noah, and I also haven’t spent this much money either. Somehow, she knows all the shopping stores. She has been here four days, and every designer brand store knows her by name and now me too.
It’s been great, I love having her around. When she’s around, it drowns out the loudness in my head, and today, I really needed her company. I felt suffocated by all the fucking questions, and talking so I left with her and got a little carried away. Lunch with her turned into more, we went shopping after, then started drinking at this cute little bar. I can barely walk in a straight line when I arrive back at the packhouse, and my shopping bags aren’t helping either. I can’t believe I let Noah talk me into buying lingerie and even more lingerie because normal panties have no place on a body made for sex.
The house is quiet, few are roaming but the only light downstairs is in Kingston’s office. I’m gravitating towards it before I can stop myself. The door is slightly open, with laughter emitting from inside. I recognise that laughter as something similar to torment disguised as joy.
I pause at their door, peeking inside. Kingston and Audrey are together, she’s sitting on the armrest of his sofa and pointing at the paper on his table. I can’t help but notice how she puts her breasts in his face when she leans over, or how hard he laughs at something that she says.
I feel a pang in my chest, not even the crazy amount of liquor is enough to numb it. I knock on the door, “Wow.” I groan. “Get a room, or at least close the door.”
“Aeliana?” Audrey gasps, genuinely surprised.
I nod, stumbling inside. Kingston moves from his seat, watching me or more accurately glaring at me now. “Yep, you got my name right. Keep it up.”
She frowns, “Are you drunk?”
I shake my head, squinting at her. “Are you sober?”
“Go to your room, Audrey.” Kingston orders.
She nods, smiling. “Goodnight.”
“It is.” I giggle, ignoring how devious her tone sounds.
“Where the fuck have you been?” he asks, “You missed your fitting, your vow rehearsal, what the hell is wrong with you?”
I blink at him.
The words take a second to register, but when they do, I nod to myself. “I..” I trail off on an unspoken thought, I done have an excuse that he would like to hear.
“The inauguration is in two days, two fucking days, Aeliana. Everyone has been working so hard towards it, everything has been planned and done for you, all you had to do was show up for a few hours, but you can’t seem to do anything these days.”

“I was busy,” I slur.
“Drinking?” He scoffs, “I’m starting to think bringing your little friend here was a mistake.”
