Chapter 118
“Can I ask you something?” I begin, curiosity finally getting the better of me. The bad blood between her and Audrey hardly makes sense to me, Audrey is a nice girl too.
She nods. “Yeah, go on..”
“Excuse me,” someone calls, we all turn to find Lexie there. “Aeliana, your friend is here.”
“Already? That was fast.” She says, grabbing a napkin.
Said friend walks in a second later, and Aeliana opens her arms, smiling big. “My Noah!”
“My Aeliana, missed you baby.”
“You look amazing,” Aeliana gasps, hugging her friend.
“And you look like you’re going to bed.”
Aeliana laughs, “I don’t exactly have many clothes here.”
“Oh hell no, that ends today.” Noah tells her, “We will get you all good outfits as soon as we’re tired of looking for a house, and when I find one, maybe my Ellie can come stay with me.” She says, her eyes shifting towards Alpha Kingston. I mirror her gaze, meeting his cold stare, like he’s about to snap. “I’m joking, Alpha. My, oh my, my Aeliana, have you seen the glare on him?”
Aeliana nods, “Don’t scare her,” she scowls at Kingston. “He’s harmless, honey. That and he would thank you for taking me away.”
“Am I?” Alpha Kingston raises an eyebrow.
“For your sake, best be.” she scoffs, “She bites back, twice as hard.”
“How cute,” I remark, I doubt a human girl can have enough bite to stir an Alpha, or even our pups, but each to their own opinion I guess.
Aeliana rises from her seat, “I’m going to be right back, honey.”
Noah puts her arm out, as if reaching for her while she walks away. “I miss you already.”
“Man, they’re just like Audrey and Sera.” I hiss, not just those two, but just about every pair of best friends that I’ve come across. Is it a girl thing? Am I missing out? My best friend is a man, and Rowan would send him into the afterlife if we behaved this way together
“Danielle,” Noah pauses, “Did you just compare me and my Ellie and me to her sister and that girl?” She gasps, eyes widening when I don’t answer. “We are nothing like those bozos.”
“You’ve met them?”
“I wouldn’t dream of it,” she gags. “But the comparison is horrible, Beta’s wife. I don’t know them, but-”
“You’re judging them,” Alpha Kingston says.
“Yes,” she quickly counters. “Because I find offence in being compared to someone whose IQ is twice lower than mine, would you be okay being compared to her?” She asks, her eyes meeting mine.
“Umm. Actually…” I trail off, unable to lie. I love those girls, but that comparison does offend me a little.

Alpha Kingston grunts, “Danielle.”
“I’m sorry,” I raise my hands in defeat. “I love Audrey and Sera, but the girl is right. They’re not exactly gifted outside the shopping mall, it’s offensive to her, she’s practically a genius.”
“I am,” she nods. One thing I’ve noticed about her is that she doesn’t try to be modest, she thinks she’s the greatest thing to exist, kind of like Audrey, but she at least has the decency to pretend to others. “But let’s not tell people that, I’ve worked hard to fit in with the intellectually deficient people.”
“Wow,” Alpha Kingston hisses. “You’re something.”
“Thank you,” she nods, ignoring the negative in his tone. “You’re not something enough yourself.”
