I race up the stairs to my room, dialling Seraphine’s number before I fully shut the door. She answers almost immediately, her face covers my screen, and she looks like she just got out of the shower. “Babes, you finally remembered me!”

“I didn’t forget you, Sera,” I tell her, setting my phone up against a bottle on my dressing mirror. “I’ve just been a little bit busy.”

“Oh, oh,” she winces, drying her hair with a towel. “Go on, tell me what happened?”

“Your sister,” I gritt through my teeth, too upset to even say her damn name. “She happened that’s what.”

“What did she do this time?” Sera asks with an eyeroll. Even miles away, she too is sick of her, I envy her so much right now. I’d give anything to be away with Kingston, away from Aeliana.

“What hasn’t she done?” I snarl. “And you know what else? Like one of her wasn’t enough, she just went ahead and brought another brat here.”

Sera pauses, “Another brat?”

“Yes,” I kiss my teeth. “The pretty blonde with great style, you know her, the one who always appears at the biggest events.”

Me!” I huff. “All that time I spent moulding him into my perfect man for me, and here she comes trying to steal that, to mess it up.”

Seraphine leans back, an eyebrow raised. “Are you unable to handle her? This is my sister we are talking about.”
