Alpha’s Rue: His Shunned Luna (Athena Enchanted) novel Chapter 126

Chapter 126

“Noah Fren,” she smoothly counters, flashing me a bright smile. “You’re a stuck-up

bitch!”

“Stop it,” Kingston orders, eyes flickering between us. “Both of you. There’s no need to fight, why don’t you try getting along? You two are more alike than you think.”

Noah gasps, her hand flying to her chest in nothing short of a dramatic movie display. “My, oh my, is it because I’m blonde too?” She hisses. “Don’t do that again,” she warns, and he just lets her. “And you, girl he compared me to…” she trails off, her eyes meeting mine. “Never gonna happen, that’s why I turned down your salon offer to do an ad.” She tells me “You can have everything, him, his friends, her sister, the pack of idiots, the card, but not me.” She snaps, “No ma’am, I’m the one thing you can’t have that my Aeliana does.” Her lips curve into a wide smile. “Sorry, Alpha Kingston, but you can’t steal me from my Aeliana. And it must be killing Blondie.” She says, shaking her head while staring us both down with disdain.

“I wasn’t trying to do that,” Kingston swallows. “I simply meant for you to stop glaring and throwing jabs at each other.”

“Well,” she sighs. “I owe it to my Aeliana to decline, it’s girl code. You know about it, don’t you?” She asks, staring at me.

“My Noah,” Aeliana calls. My gaze shifts to her, and I catch her blowing out smoke, and tearing at it. “Get over here, I’m ready to paint you.

Noah jots up with excitement, “Bye.” She says, skipping away like she didn’t just ruin my day.

“She’s rude.”

“Yep,” Kingston nods. “That, or she’s a little too overprotective of Aeliana, like I know Aeliana is of her.”

I shake my head, “You always try to see the best in everyone, and that’s becoming a problem, Kingy.”

He stares at her, something flashes in his gaze, not anger, not irritation, but a calm, an understanding? “She really must be stressed if she’s smoking.”

“No, she’s not,” I snap. “You moved the inauguration for her just so she could smoke with her friend and finger paint.” I gritt through my teeth. “And you just believed the lie about her not smoking, for crying out loud, just ask Sera, she used to smoke a lot. Did that look like someone who didn’t know how to hold a cigarette until now?” I pause, watching her too. “I know you want to give her the benefit of the doubt but please of the pack, you’ve done so much for them and-”

“I won’t have a pack without her,” he sighs. “The extension was necessary.”

“That’s unfortunate,” I heavily sigh. “Because you’ll be running the pack alone while she gets drunk, and wasted with that surprisingly meaner bully version of her.”

“She’s just going through something,” he insists. Usually, he would just agree with me, but now he is questioning things, he is questioning me. “She hasn’t had time to process things, and she passed out on her dream job offer, Drey.”

Right.

The fucking job, he should have let her take it, but that ship has sailed, and we are stuck with her for the rest of our lives. “You know what? If that’s what you want to believe then so be it, but don’t come back complaining to me when she proves you wrong.” I tell him, “Although, I’m pretty sure she has already proved you wrong, that little bratty friend of hers is bringing out her true self but let’s go with your truth. It’s easier to believe she is just

stressed about the inauguration.”

He sighs, “I have to go.” He says, already leaving.

I quickly follow him, “Can I come?”

“The foundation.”

“Oh no,” I hiss, those two words are enough to ruin my day. I hate that place, I hate the scrawny kids, their dirty little habits, I can’t take that, not today. “I just got my hair done today, and these nails don’t look like they can dig. Do they?”

“Hmm,” he nods, not bothering to look at my nails. He always looks, he always notices when they’re longer or a different shape too. See you later.”

That’s it?
