Chapter 145
“Sidekick,” She pouts. “He punched my date and dragged me here.”
I pause, that scenario is entirely odd, but surely Noah must have done something that warranted his intervention. “Forget that,” she waves me off. “You are needed downstairs, they’ve started to talk shit already, so you need to hurry back before I start hitting them. God knows they’ll need the time to cover up all those hickeys with concealer. You can’t go about looking freshly fucked.”
“They’re not that bad.”
She snorts. “My baby, your neck has seen more of Alpha Kingston’s teeth marks than his retainer.”
“He doesn’t have one,” I smile. “Never has.”
She rolls her eyes. “Of course, fucking perfect. But I’m serious..” she trails off, her head tilting, “You look so bruised. And you said you wanted to talk to him, did you communicate your genitals last night?”
My cheeks flush, laughter bubbling in my throat. “Yes, we did, we communicate best that way.”
Noah smiles, “Aww, good for you. I love seeing how happy you get after being with him. He’d better keep you happy, or I will maim him, no kidding.”
“I don’t think he’ll fuck up again,” I sigh. “We talked, like you suggested.”
“Boundaries?”
I nod. “I was drunk, but I did tell him, and yesterday morning he made sure I was aware he listened. And he promised me he would do better if I talked to him when things start bothering me.”
Noah nods proudly. “Atta girl, see, I told you that man would do anything for you.”
“We’ll see,” I say, my cheeks flushing. “It’s only been one day, a magnificent day, but still.”
“What’s wrong? Did he not say the right things?”
“He said all the right things,” I bitterly chuckle, brief and worrying. “He assured me he would set boundaries with Miss Golden Girl, and that he belongs to me but-“I can’t get the rest out, but she should know what I mean. Noah nods in understanding.
I grab my food tray and slip on a pair of shoes before heading out of the room with her. We go to the guest room together, she insists on sitting with me until I am ready no matter how long it takes. The stylists greet me respectfully, but I don’t miss the undertone of mockery behind the way that they address me as their Luna.
They get to work pretty quickly, starting with my pedicure and manicure while Noah nags me about having not gone with her the other time she offered. Someone gets started on my hair too, my head aches from just hearing how many patterns she would like to try to fit the theme for today.
Noah is telling me about how much fun last night was when a tattooed hand appears on the door frame. I’d know that hand anywhere, it makes my heart race. A second later, the rest of him appears, “Can I come in?” He asks, his voice low and poised.
“Yes, Alpha.” The woman doing my hair responds before I can.
Noah winks at me, “Only if you promise not to get handsy. She’s mid-transformation.”
Kingston smiles at her, and steps inside, his hair damp from the shower, and already in his pants for today. Black, sleek and tailored to make him look like a model.

“How is everything going in here?”
“Just fine,” I say with a slight nod. “We’re not nearly halfway there, but we’ve started.”
He nods, “Have you eaten?”
“Yes.”
“Good. It’ll be a long day, you should eat as much as you can.” He tells me. “How long before you’re done?” He asks, turning to the woman at my feet.
“Not sure, Alpha. But we will try our best to be on time.”
“Your Luna doesn’t like to sit too long, not for this sort of thing. So you should hurry up.” He tells her, “But don’t be in such haste that you mess up. I’ll send Lexie up to aid you with anything else.” He says, giving one small smile before he leaves.
Noah takes on the commentary job, she tells everyone what they’re not doing perfectly enough and surprisingly, they consider her opinions. Soon, Luna Estelle and my Mom arrive, already dressed and very eager. Mom sits somewhere close to Noah, trying to play the present parent who interacts with my friends.
Luna Estelle brings jewellery for me to wear, the kind that’s nearly as heavy as the responsibility I’m going to step into. And Mom has a dress for me to change into after the ceremony, something short, and comfortable yet stunning. It surprises me, it’s actually per my tastes.
When they leave to go to the other room, Danielle comes over, claiming to have been sent by Kingston to see what’s happening in here. She doesn’t stay long, she appears to be doing some getting ready of her own.
“Luna Aeliana,” Irina, the woman doing my hair calls.
“Yes?”
“Alpha Kingston seems very taken with you today.”
“Not just today?” Lexie snorts out a laugh. “Have you been living under a shell? Alpha is obsessed with Luna Aeliana.”
“That’s not true, Lexie.” I shake my head, heat spreading through my cheeks.
“It is, Luna.” She argues, her voice low. “He has your schedule and moods memorised.”
I frown, “I don’t have a schedule.”
“You do. There’s only ever slight changes but you have one.”
Noah snickers, “Wow. Aren’t you a great little assistant?”
“It’s my job, Miss Noah,” Lexie says, smiling shyly.
“Please don’t add anything more to my hair, it’s heavy,” I tell irina, hoping to shift the conversation from my mate and me.
It works, we start talking about hair. My mom and mom-in-law return too, and soon, my nails are done, my hair is still in the styling stage, but my makeup is nowhere near done. The room is filled with chatter and laughter, and even Lexie is here, talking to Noah and me.
It doesn’t take long before Kingston makes his third appearance, dressed in something else. I’m too busy laughing at something Noah says until he says something. “Siren,” he quietly says.

The room goes utterly silent, everyone exchanging quiet glances. I lift my hand. “That’s me.” I swallow, wondering what possessed him to call me by the name he does when we’re just the two.
